3rd Person POV:
Training was going as expected. A select group of individuals Magnus had selected were undergoing rigorous routines to prepare both their mind and body to receive his shard. A small fragment of his own small, fractured off and bound to them. Allowing them too to accra the warp and bring about its effects. The ramifications of a large group of people doing this would be dastardly. 'This isn't some game where I can just have the best units and send them all in and win, it would fail instantly' Magnus thought to himself.
He was currently sat on a large chair listening to Aleesha give a lecture. The best way to learn was to teach others your knowledge after all. He had given them a simple task - at least for him. Teleportation. The distance didn't matter, that could be improved but the main theory for it had to be known. And so the one hundred and eighty three budding psykers sat before Magnus and worked on their issue.
A clawed foot clenched and unclenched as Magnus listened. He knew it would take them a long time, but they had that spare. Their enemies, mainly Jabba and the pirates were crushed, at least for now. Jabba would have to reastablish his position within the Hutt clan and reaffirm himself in the Outer-Rim if he wanted to stay on top. That took time.
Ha glanced out the window in the round tower, the bottom floor allowed him to see the bustling streets. Thousands and thousands had come here now. With his talk with the Jedi open and their own private agreement made he would allow refugees from across the galaxy to seek asylum here.
Some might call this a shortsighted move, however he had thought for a long time over this. He simply needed more manpower. Raising pirates and slaves frees a lot, but compared to established worlds with millions or droid armies or even clones it is nothing. And while Magnus alone could rip the galaxy apart, decimating whole worlds, he did not wish too.
In reality, Magnus didn't know what he exactly wanted, he was acting on simple whims upto this point and planning ahead for the worst. The talk with Yaddle was basic, he allowed refugees and trade and that was all, no mentions of treaties or armies or pledges. The same with his now standing army of rubric marines and ships. They now lacked a purpose until some war or battle that would demand his own attention. No, there was no longer a reason to do anything at this point. So Magnus sat there relaxing for once. All three pets of his soul felt this to be unusual, yet he ignored this too. Or at least he tried to. He delved into his memories, his mind laying them out for him to rewatch and visit again as if happening for the first time.
Growing up on Propsero, attending classes, the Enperors arrival, the Great Crusade, battlefield after battlefield. The Council of Nikea flashed into his mind next and he had to hold back a sigh. From a second and third perspective Magnus had truly messed up with his arrogance to the primarchs and lords there. Still he continued. The vision of the Heresy and the burning of Prospero by Leman Russ. His sould and body tensed along with his mind. The thought of the Space Wolves were still a tender subject. His back ached too. From there it was flashes, Magnus retrieving parts of his soul, the promise of redemption by the Emperor and the fall to Tzeentch. That was all he needed to see. Almost like an ancient Greek tragedy it played out, the movie of a part of his life now, the rise and fall of Magnus. Now he had a new beginning.
Looking into himself again he focused on another part of his being. Cawl was unique to him. A meme her of the Mechanicus that had lived since the Heresy, worked with Trazyn and resurrected Guilliman and made the Primaris Marine. Big accomplishments. But his memory of them all was missing for the most part. Important things remained, this is how gene seed is made and this is how a bolter or power armour is made. But the memories of who Cawl was is missing. Then again, he thought as he reminisced of some old lore, Cawl always emptied his memory out and kept the important stuff. It would explain it at the very least.
"-Nus." "Magnus" he heard called out and he looked down to the stage, Aleesha was stood next to several other initiates as they all smiled at him. He glanced at the board above them and looked closely at their work. "Not quite, keep working" he spoke with a wave of his hand, fingertips glowing with his eye. The board was cleaned off instantly and everyone was suddenly back in their seat to start over. He returned to his thoughts once again and relaxed.
Magnus POV:
'I have made my decision' I thought to myself. I stood infront of my large kiddo in my room, dressed in the finest robes I had. 'Talking with Yaddle and with what she revealed puts me at around five years before the start of the Phantom Menace. I can work with that, and I can do some other stuff while I pass the time.' I thought.
I tightened my hand round staff, which in reality was my blade warped to hide itself. After all, you don't walk round with a blade the size of most people and expect them to not fear you.
Glancing out the window I saw the sun set and night fall. The people had their roles, manufacturing goods and selling them off while the arms depot makes ammunition and weapons. Empty suits of power armour would also be made in my absence. I straightened my posture as I raised a hand up. The warp trembled as I commanded it to open. A rift appeared, usually a Demon would run out screaming blood or pleasure or something, but this was quiet. Perfect for me.
I walked through the rift and it closed behind me. Within the warp I... floated? No. Gravity was here, I felt a pull but there was nothing to be pulled too. It was a unique sensation.
The warp was empty. I thought to myself. I could fix that. The spark of ambition floated through my powerful mind and my lips naturally curled themselves into a grin.
'A god.' I thought. 'I could be a god, no. A God. One with a capital G.' My mouth opened and I let out a hearty chuckle. Before descending into full blown laughter. 'I wouldn't need to worry about anything if I amassed power here. No one to compete for it, no one to wage war against. My own concepts could be spread far and wide and it would give birth to my new power.'
I turned my head, and spun round too. "It won't work." I shook my head. Star Wars was too limited as a universe. The beings didn't draw any power from this realm, relying on the ones to channel the force. U would have to branch out of this universe instead to grow my power base.
"Any magic based universe, or fantasy based would work. I can pose as a patron being and start a religion or cult, each worshipping me and increasing my power. I could also enjoy this as a vacation I suppose."
The plan formulted in my mind, I could rip a whole large enough to go through and breach the walls between this universe and another using the Warp. It would be random where I end up, and when I end up. While seeing living dinosaurs would be cool, I doubt that they would worship me.
I leaned back and floated in the sea of empty souls and considered my options. In the end, I would have to do it. I didn't have any other way to reliably navigate and that includes the way back. That thought made me pause. I would need a marker to follow.
I released my hand on my blade. I could feel it, always. It was a part of me after all. That blade would act as a marker, telling me where my home is.
I turned away from it and raised both hands, focusing my entire might for the first time since I got here, and the wall between universes was opened.
So here's another chapter for you all. I decided realistically there's nothing for Magnus to truly do at this point. It would be a lot of time skips and side character dialogue and reaction stuff which is cool, but I don't wanna drown the story in it all at this point. So instead here we are.
The idea of Magnus becoming a god was there from the start, I mean in terms of Star Wars Demon Magnus is like the top of the power level, at least in Canon. I don't wanna compare him to stuff like Legends because that's just my own bias at that point.
I have some ideas about where to send him. DXD, Harry Potter, DnD/Baldurs Gate are the main ones, or maybe Marvel/DC shortly. Any ideas for a universe he might suit would be appreciated. I'll decide in a couple days when I pick up writing again.
That's all from me today, I'll see you all soon.
