Disclaimer: I do not own Adventure Time or any of its characters!

Note: This is the first story I have ever written, so the first chapter is short.

Also, for some more context, Marceline and Marshall are twins, both of whom are tall and skinny. Although, Marshall is a little taller than Marceline. They both have black hair and deep green eyes. Marceline's hair is very long, while his is short. I would've described them in the story, but I have no idea how to work that in.

"Could you not?"

Marceline was driving to an unfamiliar high school to attend her first day. Her father had decided to move across the country halfway through the school year, meaning she has to attend a new school in the middle of nowhere.

"Not what? I'm just trying to have a conversation with you."

"You're pissing me off, so stop." Marceline tells her brother, Marshall, as she cranks up the stereo.

Of course she hadn't wanted to move. She had it fine at her old school. It takes too much effort to make new friends, find her way around, and have to act all "happy go lucky" with your new teachers. At the end of the day, her and Marshall had no choice. Their father was never going to pass up a business opportunity for their behalf.

Marceline turns the stereo down as she pulls her old Chevrolet Malibu into the school parking lot. They sit in silence staring at their laps for a while before Marshall says anything.

"It'll be okay... I'm gonna to go meet with the principal and find my classes before the bell rings, you should come with. It might help."

"I'm fine."

"Whatever", Marshall says as he steps out of the car. "Everything will work out, Marcy."

Marceline watches as he slams the car door and starts off towards the front of the school. She questions whether or not she should just drive off instead of having to endure the trials of starting at a new school, but inevitably decides against it.

Right before she goes to open her car door, a raised, bright yellow truck pulled into the spot next to her, blasting music with the windows rolled down.

"Fuck you Jake! No, I don't." Says one of the boys as they hop out of the truck.

No, fuck you. You know damn well it's true, Finn." Jake laughs as he walks around the truck.

Finn is tall and skinny. He's wearing a blue hoodie and dark blue jeans with a green backpack.

Finn and Jake look very similar, but Jake is a little taller with shorter curly hair.

"Whatever" Finn takes his white beanie off to brush back his blonde shoulder-length hair before pulling the beanie back on.

At this point, they are both laughing and walking towards the school entrance together.

Marceline rolls her eyes at their loud arrival and climbs out of her car.

After struggling to find and attend her first class, she starts off to find her next. She shuffles through the papers the principal provided for her: a map of the school, a list of her classes, and a sign-up sheet for extracurricular activities. Marceline stares at the map of the school, trying to figure out where she is in the first place. She gets bumped by several passing students and drops her papers. Watching as they scatter across the floor, getting stepped on.

She curses to herself. Picking up floor papers during a stampede of people isn't an easy task.

As Marceline bends down to pick up the papers, she knocks her head into someone else's head as they reach down to help her.

"Oh god, I'm so sorry."

Marceline looks up at the person who is speaking to see a girl scrambling on the floor to pick up the papers.

With the papers in hand, the girl stands up, "I'm so sorry about that."

"It's fine, it's really not a big deal. Thank yo-" Marceline trails off when her eyes finally meet the girls.

She has fair skin, blue eyes. Her hair is a vibrant pink. Marceline looks the curvy body of the other girl up and down.

Knocking Marceline back to reality, the girl speaks, "I don't seem to recognize you, are you new here?"

"yeah, actually." Marceline blushes

"Well, I hope you have a great first day." She says smiling brightly.

The girl smiles at Marceline before walking away.

The last bell of the day rings, and Marceline is the first out of her classroom door.

Speed walking with her head down, she finally makes it to her car. She throws the door open and practically falls in the car with a sigh.

3:48 pm to Marshall

I'll leave without you if you don't get in the car within the next 3 minutes.

3:48 pm to Marceline

dammit give me a minute

A minute or two later Marceline watches as Marshall comes running out of the school towards the car.

"Seriously Marcy?" He says climbing into the car. "I was talking to people. You know, trying to make friends?"

"I just want to get home. Get your own car if you have such a problem with it."

"Did you try to make any friends?" He rolls is eyes. "I know you don't like that we moved but you should really try to make light out of the situation."

"I did talk to someone but, I feel like she felt like she kinda had to say something to me."

"That's still better than nothing you know. Who?"

Marceline shrugs "I'm not sure. She had pink hair and blue eyes. Pretty short, too"

"Maybe you'll meet again. There probably isn't a lot of people here with pink hair.

With that said, Marceline starts the car and drives towards their new home.
