Disclaimer: To cut to the chase, the New Year is here, and Christmas is over, but I still have the feel to partake in online XMAS works year round. I will be starting off the New Year with another new project.
I have watched What If's homage to Die Hard on Disney+ and fell in love with it that it made me want to watch the Cleveland Show's parody and the actual film itself, and then I did. It also inspired me to cook up a same-company crossover parody homage to it, and lo and behold, I give you a House of Mouse-esque retelling/homage to it with mostly Illumination characters. Of course, there will be a few characters joining belonging to Meledandri's former animation company, the now-defunct Blue Sky Studios.
So it'd be a mostly-Illumination cast parody.
I do not own the characters used in this, except for a couple OCs.
On a black starry background with snowflakes zipping past, the sun shines on the planet, decorated green, as the camera moves backwards across the Eastern continents, decorated red with white trimmings on the edges and areas with lights. To join, there are off-screen carolers' voices singing to the tune with sleigh bells on the side.
Offscreen carolers: Fa-la-la-laaaaa, Fa-la-la-la-la (Fa-la-la)
Then the giant "UNIVERSAL" letters come rising upward as they cover the globe.
Fa-la-la-laaaaa, Fa-la-la-la-la (Fa-la-la)
Fa-la-la-la-la, Fa-la-la-la-la
"Universal
A Comcast Company"
Fa-la-la-la-laaaa-aah
The screen faded to black, and then faded in from black came a new piece of scenery, as "Carol of the Bells" by Pentatonix plays in the background. This exact scenery was a blackish-navy screen with the "ILLUMINATION" logo decorated with tinsel, garland, lights, and ornaments. Along with the logo were the Minions, copslaying as elves, Frosty the Snowman, and Yukon Cornelius, clamoring in admiration for the hard work they've put in the logo's decor.
"Illumination!" declared Kevin among his cohorts' chattering.
Suddenly, one of the yetis from the first MINIONS film burst onto the scene, frightening the Minions as he used his club to smash the letters down, before roaring at them only to stop half-way. He had noticed his mouth was completely toothless. The culprit responsible, another Minion dressed as Hermey the Elf, arrived with a wagon filled with yeti teeth he had plucked out beforehand. This resulted in the Minions to laugh at the frightened and dumbfounded yeti's misfortune before the scene faded to black.
As the song continued, the next scene to fade to was one of two rectangular pillars at the foreground, in front of a mountain landscape with a cloudy sky from a distant point of view. The camera moved out of the pillars and rotated clockwise into the right pillar until two black lines came into view. Zooming out, the construction appeared to be a gradient gray rectangle with two vertical cuts.
"MANDEVILLE FILMS"
Fading to black, the scene changed to that of a scene of a beautiful winter's night with snowflakes falling gently, heading towards a certain location.
"Universal Pictures Presents"
"A Mandeville Films and C.M. Production"
We reached the gates and front door of a semi-lavish residence.
"In Association with Twentieth Century Animation"
Once at the doorstep, we opened up the door and head inside. We then reached the living room where a certain corpulent aging man who used to lead the Anti-Villain League, sat in a bedrobe by the fireplace, sipping from a cup of hot chocolate before setting it down.
As the carol came to an end, he took notice of us and said with a smile, "Hello there, faithful animation fanatics. It is I, the former Anti-Villain League's director, Silas Ramsbottom, welcoming you to our Christmas special. Oh yes, I know, Christmas is long gone but we prefer to keep the holiday joy going just a little while longer."
He got up from his chair and walked to a cabinet as he sighed, "I tell you, if I live to be 103, I shall never forget the year the Anti-Villain League had their most eventful winter holiday of all. You may not believe it, but the holidays were almost ruined for the Illumination characters. If it weren't for the help of a couple certain individuals..." He then chuckled a bit, "Oh dear, I'm getting rather ahead of myself."
He then picked up a snowglobe with a tall building inside and began to shake it hard for the artificial snow to blow around. We were in for a story, though it may be one we were familiar with.
And unfortunately, that's all I have finalized for the story so far. I'm not sure about what should build up to the terrorist invasion, other than a big party happening and all.
As you can see, just for the heck of it, I added some hypothetical opening credits under the presumption if this were an actual animated product, if they actually did the 'House of Mouse' thing that's canon yet not canon. This would especially not be canon due to having some adult material in it later on.
Why Mandeville Films? Well, because they co-worked with Disney on another crossover film, Chip & Dale: Rescue Rangers that has the same environment I'm using except no live-action.
Like I said, this won't be a real movie for everyone to watch, but it will be done as a fanfiction (unless I let someone else have this idea), so I'm just having fun with the implausible yet fun opening credits.
