LET'S DO THIS!)

Anne Boonchuy enters the stage

"How does a bastard, orphan, daughter of a man whore and a Dominican.. . Dropped in the middle of a forgotten spot? In the Caribbean by providence impoverished. In squalor, grow up to be a hero and a scholar?"

Loki Laufeyson enters after her.

"The ten-dollar founding mother without a mother and without father. Got a lot farther by working a lot harder and being a lot smarter! And being a self-starter and by fourteen, they placed her in charge of a trading charter."

Grim Junior enters, "And every day while slaves were being slaughtered and carted away across the waves, she struggled and kept her guard up. Inside she was longing for something to be apart of. This girl was ready to beg, steal borrow or barter"

Hunter enters with his arms crossed.

"Then a hurricane came, and devastation reigned. Our girl saw her future drip, dripping down the drain. Put a pencil to her temple and connected it to her brain! Then wrote her first refrain, a testament to her pain!"

Anne steps to light.

"Well, the word got around, they said, this kid is insane, man. Took up a collection just to send her to the mainland. Get your education, don't forget from whence you came And the world is gonna know your name." Anne sang as she saw Luz step onto the stage. "What's your name, girl?"

"Luz Noceda. My name is Luz Noceda. And there's a million things I haven't done. . But just you wait. . Just you wait."

Amity steps up

"When she was 10 her father split. Full of it. Debt ridden. Two years later see Luz and her mother, bedridden, half dead. Sitting in their sick, the scent thick."

Chorus, "And Luz got better but her mother went quick."

Eda was siting on a stool with a bottle of booze, looking at it as she sang.

"Moved in with a cousin, the cousin committed suicide and left her with nothin' but ruined pride, something new inside. A voice said, "Luz, you gotta fend for yourself." She started retreatin' and readin' every treaty sittin on the shelves."

Anne came in and threw her arms out.

"There would have been nothin' left to do for someone less astute. She woulda been dead or destitute without a cent of restitution, so she started workin' and clerkin' for her late mother's landlord. Tradin' sugar cane, rum, and all the other things she can't afford. Scammin' for every book she got her hands on and plannin' for the future that she sees herself standing on!"she sang before pointing to the crowd. "The bow of a ship headed for the new land, in New York you can be a new woman!"

Chorus, "In New York you can be a new woman."

"In New York you can be a new woman!" The Chorus repeated!

"Now just wait!" Luz sang.

"In New York you can be a new woman!"

"Now just wait!"

"In New York you can be a new woman! In New York, New York!"

"Now you wait!" Luz finished!

"Luz Noceda. . We are waiting in the wings for you. You never backed down. You never learned to take your. . Time!

"Oh, Luz Noceda! Luz Noceda! When America sings for you, will they know what you overcame? Will they know you rewrote your game? The world will never be the same, oh!"

"Ship is in the harbor now! See if you can spot her! Another immigrant coming up from the bottom! Her enemies destroyed her rep, America forgot her!"

"We fought with her!" Ryuko matoi and Hunter sang, back to back.

"Me? I died for her." Loki sang as he shut his eyes.

"Me? I trusted her." Eda sang with a smile, putting the bottle down.

"Me? I loved her." Amity sang with her hands on her chest.

"And me?" Anne sang, looking down in shame. "I'm the damn bitch that shot her!"

"There's million things I haven't done! Now just waiiiiittt!"

"What's your name girl?"

Luz Noceda!
