An average sunny day in Queens. It's late January of 2012. Fifteen-year-old Peter Parker and his Midtown High class were all Freshmen on a field trip to a genetic engineering laboratory. "And here you'll see our lab for testing spider DNA." a tour guide said. "This is where we are testing and fusing the DNA of many different spider specimens to create one special radioactive spider."
Peter Parker, Harry Osborn, and Ned Leeds were all a group of nerdy friends. Peter wore glass, had brown hair and blue eyes, he was skinny, and he was a pretty big nerd. Harry was the coolest of the bunch, and he had green eyes, brown hair with a slight reddish hue to it, and he was the tallest. Ned was the shortest, and he was Asian and had short, black hair, and he was a bit chubby.
Peter liked a girl in their class; Mary-Jane "M.J." Watson, but she was dating the tall and athletic Flash Thompson, the fastest running back on the schools football team. "Yo, Pete, check this out." Harry called. Peter came over with Ned, and the group checked out a tank labeled 'Radioactive Spider Specimen 1' but there was nothing in it.
The group chuckled, thinking that it must be some kind of joke. That's when Peter felt a sting on his neck. He tried slapping his neck, but he didn't feel anything. "Hey, Peter. You alright?" Ned asked.
"Yeah, I'm fine. Just... could've sworn I felt something in my neck." Peter responded.
"Heh. Maybe it was that radioactive spider that escaped." Harry said as the group all laughed together, thinking this was all just a joke.
The next morning, Peter woke up out of bed. He felt really good, better than he usually felt, even though he was already perfectly healthy. He got up and realized that his pajamas felt really tight, so he took them off to change into more loose clothing. He then caught a glimpse of himself in the mirror, and saw something magnificent; he was absolutely shredded now. He also then realized that he could see perfectly fine. He reached for his glasses, but he then realized that he saw much better without his glasses.
As he walked down the stairs, he met his Uncle Ben and Aunt May at the table for breakfast. "Hey, kiddo." Uncle Ben said enthusiastically. Ben was really tall, about 6'4, and May is only about 5'5. When Peter went to bed, he was about 5'6, but waking up, he now realized he had to be at least 5'11. "Peter, did you get taller over night?" May asked.
"Ehh... I think? I don't know." Peter said. Peter sat down as Ben opened up a newspaper and sipped at his cereal. "Mmm! Peter look. 'Tony Stark buys plot of land in San Francisco, Phoenix, Miami, Denver, Cheyenne, Chicago, and Portland, says he's going to build more Avengers Tower's'." Ben said, showing Peter the newspaper.
As Peter finished up his breakfast, he quickly rushed out of the house and ran over to school. Despite it being snowy and freezing outside, Peter didn't even feel the cold, and he had shorts and a t-shirt on.
As Peter rushed through the doors to Midtown High, he quickly ran over to his locker. Peter then felt a hand on his back. "Hey, Parker." a voice said. Peter looked to see Flash and his football friends there. "Say, Petie, you got any money on ya?"
"Why?" Peter responded, a bit anxious.
Flash paused for a moment and then got really close to Peter. "I need some. It's Taco Tuesday."
"I'm sorry Flash, but I'm not giving you any money. Now back off."
Flash and his friends chuckled and looked surprised at Peter's comment. "You'll be sorry, Parker."
As Flash was about to throw a punch, Peter's mind went into slow motion. Harry looked angry, like he was about to kill Flash. Ned and MJ looked super worried. But, Peter then moved out of Flash's way at a very quick speed, and Flash ended up punching the locker at full force, making his fists bleed. "Ah!! Son of a-!! Parker!!!" Flash yelled, but then as Flash was about to throw another punch, Peter did a front flip over Flash. Flash then tried throwing another punch, and that ended up in Peter catching his hand and pushing Flash out of the way.
September 27th, 2014. Peter Parker's bedroom is filled with newspaper articles from the Daily Bugle about Kingpin, Tombstone, Silvermane and the Maggia Crike Family, Electro, Rhino, Sandman, and many more criminal stuff. All of a sudden, a police dispatch call comes onto Peter's phone. "All units, report to northern Central Park!" the call said. Peter opened his eyes and saw the phone. As Peter got up, he put on red tights and web shooters, and he then hurried downstairs, not thinking May or Ben would be up yet, but they were, and they saw Peter in his outfit. "Peter, you're gonna miss breakfast? This is the second time this week." May said, a bit concerned.
"I know, I'm sorry guys, but there's a police dispatch at Central Park, and I feel like I know who it is." Peter responded and hurried out the door.
Peter crawled to the top of his home as he swung away. As Peter was swinging, he got another phone call, and he pulled out his phone to see it was Tony Stark. "Hello, Mr. Stark? Yeah... yeah, sure, I can come by later, but first, I've gotta go handle northern Central Park. Yeah... okay... thanks, Mr. Stark."
Spider-Man lands beside Officer Jefferson Davis and Captain Yuriko Watanabe. "What's the situation?" Peter asks.
"We don't know..." Jeff began, "...all we know is that-", then, Yuri cut him off and said "it's some new supervillain. He has a metal suit and a long tail, and he's got a bunch of men by his side."
"Nothing I can't handle." Peter said. Then, he swung into the building. He snuck in, and as he entered the lobby of this building, he saw a bunch of masked men holding guns while a bunch of hostages were tied to poles. Peter cleared his throat and said "Excuse me. Hey, are those machine guns? Aw, you shouldn't have." Peter uses his webs to steal two of the men's guns, and as he comes down to fight them in combat, a man in a full-body yellow suit comes through with large gauntlets. "Who are you supposed to be?" Peter asked.
The man in the yellow suit replied "I'm The Shocker. I'll give you to the count of ten to get your ass out of here."
"That's what they all say. Then they end up in prison."
The Shocker approaches Peter, and Peter tries throwing a punch, but that's when the Shocker uses his giant gauntlets and charges them up, and he punches Peter's hand, sending a shockwave through Peter's body. "Didn't expect that." Peter said.
"You lot, take the hostages to the next floor up. I'll handle this idiot." The goons follow Shocker's orders and they bring the hostages upstairs. "Give up, Spider-Man!"
"Nah. That's not really my style." Spider-Man shoots a web at Shocker's face and throws him into a wall. The Shocker then jumps up and pounds his fist into the floor, but Peter quickly latches onto the ceiling as the floor around him burns. Shocker does something to one of his gauntlets, and then he shoot's an electrical burst up to Peter, shocking him, and then Shocker runs away.
Peter goes up to the next floor, but he doesn't find anybody. He goes up several more floors, and that's when he finds a hole in the wall with a bridge going through it to the next building over, which was the bank. Peter ran through and saw that all the lights were actually off on that floor. "Hello? Anybody home?" Peter asked, walking around. He then heard a scuttling noise, and he leaped up and latched into the ceiling out of fear. That's when he felt a presence behind him. Hanging from a web, he slowly turned around and saw a man in an all green, metal suit with a long, metal tail attached to him. "Uhh... meow?-" Peter said, but he was quickly cut off by the green suited man using the tail to try and impale him, but Peter did a backflip on the roof to dodge him. The fighters were latched onto the roof during their fight. As Peter jumped down onto the ground, the man jumped down with him. "Who the hell are you!?" Peter asked.
"I am Scorpion! And you are freaking dead!"
"How come everybody's gotta have a gimmick now?"
"You're one to talk, 'Spider-Man'!"
"Due, we both have an arachnid gimmick!"
The two fighters both had their banter as they threw punches and fought each other. All of a sudden, as Peter was dodging Scorpion's tail, it scraped his arm a bit, and Peter saw that there was some kind of green venom type thing in it. "What the hell is in this stuff!?"
"Hallucinogens."
Peter felt weak as he started hallucinating. He saw Harry and Ned grateful for Peter being gone, he saw MJ and Flash talking about being together forever, he saw Tony Stark talking about how annoying he was, and he saw Aunt May and Uncle Ben talking about how peaceful it was without Peter around. Peter knew it wasn't real, but he still hated the thought of it. Suddenly, the hallucinogens wore off, and Peter saw Scorpion had his back turned. Peter slingshotted himself at Scorpion, and Peter managed to throw Scorpion out the window, pinning him to the ground in the middle of the road just as a bus was driving by. That's when Peter used his super strength to stop the bus. Peter held the bus in place as his feet scraped through the surface of the road.
"Spider-Man!" Jeff yelled as he and Yuri ran over. That's when a ton of armed men came by in a bunch of large jeeps and held guns at Scorpion. "Thanks so much, Mister... Man..." Jeff said, fist bumping Spider-Man. "I'll see you guys later!" Peter said as he swung away.
Peter arrived at Avengers Tower. He walked in through the roof as he saw Bucky Barnes sitting on the couch watching the News. He also saw Natasha Romanoff, Steve Rogers, Sam Wilson, and Clint Barton all getting drunk at the kitchen. Peter approached Vision and said "Hey, Vision. Uhh, where is Mr. Stark?"
"Mr. Stark is down in the laboratory currently, working on a surprise project for you." Vision replied.
Peter took the elevator down and saw Tony Stark working on something, inputting some sort of code into a suit much like the Spider-Man suit. "Peter! There you are. Boy oh boy, do I have a surprise for you."
Peter approached Tony, and saw that Tony was inputting some sort of cellphone technology into the mask of the suit. "So, Peter... you're suit is getting kind of... damaged. But I am here to get you a better one. Follow me." Tony picks up three suit and puts it on a manakin in a glass bullet-proof cage. Tony then sits down at a table with a control panel on it as Peter sits down beside him. Tony presses a button, making flaps appear between the suits arms and legs. "These are gliders, which let you glide, possibly for miles. Your suit is also nearly bullet proof, it has built in web shooters..." Tony shows Peter these features, "...it's highly elastic, it doesn't get work out no matter the speed you're moving at, and finally... I designed the mask with a kind of technology similar to my helmet. You can receive calls on it, you can scan the environment with it, and you can do so, so much more with it." Tony gets the suit out of there and hands it to Peter. "So... what do you think?"
"What do I think!? I... I love it!" Peter said. Suddenly, he heard a call coming in on his mask, and he pressed it. "Yes?"
"Peter, we were gonna run some tests for our limb regeneration project?" somebody on the other line said.
"Yes. Uhh... sorry Dr. Connors. I had to attend to some... personal matters. I'll be there as soon as possible." Peter hung up on him. "Well... thanks Mr. Stark."
"No problem, Peter. Oh! Also! Uhh... we're moving home base to the Avengers Tower in San Francisco soon. We think it'll be better to handle things where more of the big threats are. So, you know what that means, Peter?"
"No, sir. What does this mean?"
"It means... New York City may not have the Avengers anymore, but they will have you. They will have the Amazing Spider-Man. The Fantastic Spider-Man! The Spectacular Spider-Man!"
"But, Mr. Stark, I'm just... you know, I'm just your friendly neighborhood Spider-Man."
"But they'll need you. So promise me... will you be able to handle this big responsibility?"
Peter thought for a moment and hesitated before answering. "Yes, Mr. Stark. I can handle it."
