Prologue: Good Man
Toji Fushiguro doesn't do things for free of for no reason. So, he isn't quite sure why he is helping for free and going against his contract.
"Thanks..." Jin Itadori said to him as they arrived at her car. In his arm there was a bundle.
Toji rolled his eyes "Whatever." He eyed the baby he was carrying, maybe the same age as Megumi... "Do you know why she wanted me to kill you?"
Jin panted and shook his head "No..." His eyes widen "Kaori! I need to find her maybe she is danger!"
Toji raised his eyebrow "Black hair, big scar on her forehead?"
Jin slowly nodded "Yes... how did you-"
"She hired me. Told me make it look like an accident." Toji informed him as Jin eyes widen in horror.
"No... that... that can't be...Why would she..."
Toji is starting to get bored with his whining "Look, the only reason I didn't kill you, is because you aren't a sorcerer and have a kid. So-"
"Sorcerer?"
This is going to be a long night.
In the end, he got some payment. Jin took him to eat, after leaving Yuji, his son with Wasuke, so he can understand better his situation.
"I don't know how this could happen..."
Toji hummed as he ate his ramen "That's the kind of people sorceress are. Scumbags, all of them."
"But she was so kind..." Jin continued and Toji was going to remark something but then he heard "Even if she changed after the accident... my father told me she wasn't the same person..."
Toji frowned... trying to remember something. He swears he saw someone with a similar scar somewhere before...
He snapped his fingers "Kenjaku."
"Eh?"
Toj laughed "This is going to sound insane, but your wife is dead."
"Eh!? But then how-"
"Back from where I grew up, there was the story of a man named Noritoshi Kamo, who created the Cursed Wombs. Half-human, half-curse. Anyway, I once heard one of the 'respected elders' talking that Noritoshi Kamo was possessed, by a Kenjaku."
Jin slowly nodded "I think I understand... then when Kaori suffered that accident, she... this Kenjaku..."
Toji nodded as he slurped his ramen "That's the most probable thing."
Jin nodded "Will Yuji be safe?"
"I don't know. Do you want a dessert. I know I do."
Jin looked at him as Toji pulled out the menu to see what to order next "Hey, Toji-San."
"Hmm?"
"How much for you to protect Yuji?"
Toji raised a brow and looked at him as Jin continued "I can tell you do... things for money. And if Kao-Kenjaku wants me dead... I need to know Yuji will be safe. So... how much?"
Toji frowned. Remembering a conversation, he had with the woman he loves... the woman who isn't here anymore. The woman who gave him his blessing...
Toji sighed "The food was great. Pay it and... I don't know this cupcake and that's it."
Jin frowned "I am serious Toji-San."
"So I am." Toji said "I will make sure no sorcerer gets close to your son. No Zen'in, Kamo or even Gojo... and not even Kenjaku."
Jin blinked as tears formed in his eyes "Thank you Toji-San."
Some days later, Jin and Kaori Itadori were found dead in car crash. That's what Wasuke Itadori was told.
Toji Fushiguro told him what did happen.
