Hey guys, it's been awhile, But here is a new Story I don't own Young Justice, Pokemon or the Berenstain Bears. Those are owned by DC Greg Wiesman, Brandon Vietti, Nintendo and Jan and Mike Berenstain.
Chapter 1: a Birthday wish that Got me somewhere
Copper, was in the San Diego Library His Pikachu and Charmander Build-a-Bears in his Pokeball Style Pullstring Backpack. He found some Berenstein Bears Books, and took them to the front desk. " Mrs. Phelps, I found what I'm looking for." Copper said.
Mrs. Phelps, the librarian, greeted Copper with a warm smile as he approached the front desk, Pikachu and Charmander peeking out from his Pokeball-style pullstring backpack.
"Well, hello there, Copper! What treasures have you uncovered today?" Mrs. Phelps inquired, her eyes twinkling with curiosity.
Copper beamed with excitement, cradling the Berenstein Bears books in his arms. "I found these Berenstein Bears Books! They're perfect."
Mrs. Phelps examined the books with a nod of approval. "Ah, a classic choice! Those bears have a way of making every adventure feel like home. I hope you enjoy your journey with them."
"Thank you, Mrs. Phelps. They're not just for me; they're for my birthday. And, uh, do you have any books about Pokemon? You know, the ones from the stories?" Copper asked with a hopeful look.
Mrs. Phelps considered his request and then replied, "Pokemon, you say? Well, while we might not have those here, who knows what wonders you might find when you explore the world of Bear Country. Happy reading, Copper, and a very happy birthday to you!"
Copper's eyes sparkled with gratitude as he thanked Mrs. Phelps. With his newfound treasures, he left the library.
Copper went to the Bakery and purchased a Chocolate Cupcake and a candle. " This is an unusual Birthday Candle." He said.
Copper stepped into the bustling bakery, the sweet aroma of freshly baked treats wafting through the air. The Baker, a friendly man with a flour-dusted apron, greeted him with a warm smile.
"Hello there, Copper! What can I get for you today?" the Baker asked, his eyes twinkling with genuine friendliness.
Copper surveyed the delightful display of pastries and confections before settling on a tempting chocolate cupcake. "I'll take one of those chocolate cupcakes, please."
The Baker carefully prepared the cupcake and handed it to Copper. "Ah, a classic choice! Anything else for you today?"
Copper glanced at a peculiar candle on display, its flickering flame casting a soft glow. "I'll take this unusual birthday candle too. It's different, isn't it?"
The Baker chuckled. "Indeed, it's a special one. Adds a bit of magic to your celebration, perhaps?"
Copper nodded, intrigued by the whimsical nature of the candle. "Exactly! It's my birthday, and I'm in for a day of surprises."
The Baker smiled, wrapping the cupcake and candle together. "Well then, happy birthday, Copper! May your day be as delightful as this cupcake."
Copper got back to his foster home. His foster parents, were busy at work. He went to his room, shut the door and took out the Cupcake, put the Candle in and lit it." Make a wish, Copper." He said, Copper closed his eyes and blew until the flame was out. " Just the three of us, Flash and Firestorm." Copper said, to his Build-a-Bears.
In the quiet sanctuary of his room, Copper carefully placed the chocolate cupcake on a small table. With a sense of anticipation, he inserted the unusual birthday candle and lit its flickering flame. As the warm glow filled the room, Copper spoke to his Build-a-Bears, Flash and Firestorm, nestled beside him.
"Make a wish, Copper," he whispered to himself. Closing his eyes, Copper took a deep breath and blew gently until the flame danced and vanished. He wished for a family to adopt him not just house him temporarily.
"Just the three of us, Flash and Firestorm," Copper said, a contented smile gracing his face. In that moment, with the soft glow of the candle illuminating his room, Copper embraced the simple joy of companionship and the warmth of his own little birthday celebration.
Copper reached for one of the Berenstein Bears Books when in a flash of light, he and his Build-a-Bears vanished.
Copper was unconscious when he heard a voice in his head as a paw tapping on his face.
voice in his mind. Copper, can you hear me?
Copper's senses slowly returned, and he realized he was no longer in his room. " What's happening? " He asked me. " Where are we?" he thought, his mental voice echoing in the unfamiliar space.
"Fl, Flash?" Copper stuttered. " Are you...?" Copper pets and realizes... " You're not a Build-a-Bear Plush anymore you're a genuine real deal Pikachu."
That's right, Copper. It seems something extraordinary happened during that flash of light. We're in a whole new world. Flash communicated with a sense of wonder. And I'm no longer a plush, but a real Pikachu.
Copper couldn't hide his amazement as he observed the living, breathing Pikachu before him. He grinned, a mix of surprise and excitement playing on his face. "This is incredible! But how do we get back home?"
For now, let's explore and see if we can find any clues. And who knows, maybe this new place has its own wonders waiting for us. Flash's enthusiasm echoed in Copper's mind as they continued their journey, the forest unfolding its secrets around them.
Copper found himself in a dense forest, the towering trees casting long shadows. Flash, where are we?
Not sure, Copper. This doesn't look like San Diego. Let's explore and see if we can figure it out. Flash said, telepathically.
" Wait, where's Firestorm?" Copper asked, he spotted a Pokeball, He picked it up and opened it.
Charmander's cheerful cry echoed through the forest as Copper picked up the Pokeball and opened it. The bright flame on Charmander's tail flickered as it emerged, looking around with curiosity.
" Hey there, Firestorm. Looks like we've got a bit of an adventure ahead." Copper said.
Copper found Flash's Pokeball and finished recalling Firestorm and was about to do the same to Flash. " Not thrilled about going into a Pokeball, Flash?" Copper asked.
Flash shook its head, a sign of its preference. I prefer being out and about. Maybe it's the thrill of the adventure, Flash communicated with a sense of playfulness.
Copper chuckled. "Fair enough, Flash. We'll stick to exploring together without the Pokeball for now. Let's see what this place has in store for us." With that, Copper, Flash, and Firestorm continued their journey through the unfamiliar forest, ready for whatever surprises awaited them.
" So much dense forest." Copper said to Flash who was on his shoulder. " Wish we had a Riolu to navigate."
Flash, perched on Copper's shoulder, responded with a mental message. True, a Riolu's aura-sensing abilities would come in handy here. But we'll manage. Let's keep going and see what we can discover. Copper nodded, appreciating Flash's optimism. With the dense forest surrounding them, the trio ventured forward, guided by curiosity and the hope of unraveling the mysteries of their new surroundings. Suddenly Copper felt something in sixth sense. " Flash can you feel that?" He asked. Knowing that Flash as his Familiar shared his magic and as result could sense things the way He did. " An Aura.Yes, I sense it too. Flash responded through their shared connection. An aura, a presence nearby. Let's follow it and see where it leads.
With a shared understanding, Copper, Flash, and Firestorm moved in the direction of the mysterious aura, their sixth senses attuned to the magical energies that surrounded them. The dense forest seemed to hold secrets, and they were determined to uncover the source of the intriguing sensation that beckoned them forward.
The Aura was..." A Riolu?" Copper said as said Pokemon appeared from behind a tree. " Come on, we won't hurt you." Copper coaxed gently.
The Riolu cautiously emerged from behind the tree, its aura pulsating with a mix of curiosity and wariness.
Riolu cautiously placed a paw in Copper's hand. " That's it." He said, gently petting the Riolu.
Copper's gentle approach reassured the Riolu, and it allowed him to pet its fur. The connection between trainer and Pokemon began to form, a bond of trust established in the heart of the mystical forest. Copper smiled, appreciating the companionship that unfolded in this enchanting new world.
"Well done, little friend. Looks like we've got a new companion," Copper said, acknowledging the Riolu's trust. " Riolu, we're lost, can you help us find the way out, please?" Copper asked. " Riolu, we're lost, can you help us find the way out, please?" Copper asked.
Riolu, now a welcomed member of their group, gazed at Copper with a determined expression. It seemed to understand the request. " We'll follow you, Riolu. Lead the way." Copper communicated through their shared understanding, trusting the Pokemon's innate sense of direction.
Riolu, with a nod, took the lead, guiding Copper, Flash, and Firestorm through the dense forest.
They reached a dirt road on the other side of the forest. " Thank you Riolu, We'll be going now." Copper felt Riolu hug his leg. " You want to come with us?" He asked. Riolu's expressive eyes gazed up at Copper, a silent plea for companionship. Copper understood the unspoken connection that had formed between them. With a warm smile, he knelt down to Riolu's level.
"You want to come with us?" Copper asked, extending an invitation.
Riolu responded by hugging Copper's leg, a gesture filled with gratitude and the desire to join their journey. Copper, touched by the Pokemon's affection, nodded. "Alright, Riolu. You're part of the team. Let's see what adventures await us together." Copper checked and found an empty Pokeball in his pocket, expanded it and held it out. " Here you go." Riolu observed the offered Pokeball with curiosity, its eyes reflecting a mix of trust and anticipation. Copper, with a reassuring smile, held the expanded Pokeball steadily.
"Here you go," Copper said, extending the Pokeball toward Riolu. The Pokemon, seemingly understanding the gesture, approached and willingly entered the Pokeball. With a satisfying click, the ball closed, signifying a newfound partnership between trainer and Pokemon.
"Welcome to the team, Riolu," Copper said, holding the Pokeball with a sense of camaraderie. With their team now strengthened, the quartet continued their journey down the dirt road. " Now Riolu needs a nickname." Copper said. " How about, Robin?" He asked Flash. " The Black Markings around his eyes do remind me of Robin's mask." He said referring to Batman's protege.
Flash, now a real Pikachu, responded with a mental nod. Robin sounds fitting. A nod to a legendary hero. Copper's choice resonated with the symbolism of adventure and camaraderie.
"Robin it is, then," Copper affirmed, a smile playing on his lips. The quartet—Copper, Flash, Firestorm, and the newly named Robin—continued their journey, bound by the threads of friendship and the promise of exciting discoveries in this magical land.
" Hey, Flash?" Copper asked. " Do you and Firestorm have memories of what we did prior to becoming real deal, Pokemon?" He asked. " I mean at the time you two were a couple of Plushies."
It's a bit hazy, but I have some vague memories. Mostly feelings and moments. Flash communicated. And it feels like we were always meant to be more than plushies, destined for a real adventure with you.
Copper nodded, understanding the sentiment. "It's like our connection goes beyond the plushie days. Well, here's to making new memories in this mysterious world with all of you—Flash, Firestorm, and now Robin."
The trio of Pokemon and their trainer, each with their unique essence, shared a collective sense of anticipation as they continued their journey, Copper spotted a Structure that looked familiar. " Flash, Where did we just whined up?" He asked, in astonishment at the sight of the Berenstain Bears Treehouse.
To be continued...
And yes Copper, Flash and Firestorm are in Bear Country. But the fact Pokemon are in Bear Country is also a mystery that and the reason Copper is still in Human Form, but all the answers will become clearer as the story continues. The reason why I'm doing this is because the Berenstain Bears, have been my favorite books since I was four, so I had to do a crossover especially given how those books were apart of my childhood.
