The Pride of a Captain
(…and then the moment's gone)

In tribute to Michael Norell
Six grimy firefighters melted off the rigs, utterly spent.
"Guys, c'mere," Cap gestured. They shuffled over and Cap draped his arms over Stoker's and Kelly's shoulders.
"I don't often say this," Cap began, "but you guys did a helluva job out there. Hands down, you're the best crew I've ever worked with." He hugged Stoker and Chet to him.
"You've never told us that," Marco pointed out.
"I haven't?"
"He just wants dibs on the shower," Mike said.
"Well…"
"I'm starving," Johnny complained.
"C-shift's stew," Roy suggested.
"Proud of you guys." Cap swelled as his crew disappeared into the kitchen.
