"I can't believe I'm actually happy to be back," said Emma while looking at the camp sign as campers ran around to sign in and heading for their cabins.
"You also make the new counselor uniform look great," said Vivian at the same time she walked over and grabbed Emma's hand.
"Thought you said no flirting in front of campers," said Emma.
"I think some of that rebel girl from last year wore off on me," said Vivian with a teasing smile.
"Not going to lie, you two make me a little sick with how sweet the two of you act around each other," said Lauren who approached with her arms crossed before and a slightly disgusted expression.
"I thought we were friends now," said Emma.
"I'm just messing with you," said Lauren with a smile while giving Emma a slight shove on the right shoulder.
"Oh yeah, I didn't have time to tell you earlier but I came out to my parents before I headed off to work," she said.
"How did that go?" asked Vivian.
"I was told not to come home and that I was the biggest disgrace in the family's long history," said Lauren.
"Sorry to hear it," said Emma.
"It's alright, I saw it coming and managed to save up money from my allowance and have a job lined up for once camp is over as well as a place to live so things aren't that bad for me" said Lauren.
"Sounds like you have things planned out at least," said Vivian.
"Excuse me for a second," said Emma before walking over to a girl looking at her phone.
"She's really changed since last summer," said Lauren while watching Emma take the girl's phone at the same time she talked to her about the camp.
"Both of you have," said Vivian.
"And I look forward to working with you this summer," she said.
"Thanks, it means a lot to hear that from you," said Lauren with a smile. She then headed off to help some parents with their kid's things.
