Jamie was sitting at his desk sifting through some files when his phone suddenly came to life. He pulled it out of his pocket and was surprised him to see that his wife was calling. He looked at the time on his watch. She should be on patrol at the moment and it was very rare for her to ever call him when she was. She usually sent him a text or two just to let him know how it was going but he usually didn't hear much from her.

He answered the call and was even more worried when he heard her anxious breathing on the other line.

"Eddie?" he said. "What's going on, babe? Are you okay?"

"Jamie…" she said with a shaky voice. "They smashed it."

He immediately stood up and started to pace around his office, "Smashed it? Smashed what? What did they smash?"

"The windshield of the Chevelle," she let out, her voice tinged with sadness. "I came out to show Badillo before we left and it was completely smashed. I'm so sorry, Jamie."

"Are you okay?" he asked.

"Yeah I'm fine," she replied. "But the car is…"

"Where are you?" he continued.

"Outside," she responded. "We haven't left yet."

"I'm still here in the precinct. I'm coming out. Did you park where you usually do?"

"Yeah."

"Okay. I'm coming."

He quickly threw the files into a drawer before heading outside. He quickly spotted Eddie next to the Chevelle. He took a quick glance at the car before making his way over to his wife and pulling her in for a hug.

"Are you okay?" he asked again, looking her over to make sure there wasn't any notable injuries or anything out of the ordinary that she didn't tell him about.

"Yeah," she sighed shakily. "It's just the car. I'm so sorry, Jamie. I don't know who the hell would do this."

"It's okay, Eddie," he reassured. "It's just the windshield. We can always get it fixed. Don't worry about it."

"But it happened when I had the car," she replied. "I should've just rode in with you in my car like you said."

Eddie had been insistent on driving the Chevelle to work due to wanting to show it off to Badillo. Jamie had suggested for them to take her car to work together since the Chevelle was in need for some repairs and he didn't want to put too much stress on the car. Eventually, Jamie relented and agreed for her to take it. It actually worked out better that way since he didn't need to be at work as early as she did.

"We would've had to take the two cars anyways since you had to come in earlier than I did," he pointed out. "It's really okay, Eddie. It's just the windshield. I'm not upset if that's what you're wondering."

"But I just feel bad," she sighed. "I know how much this car means to you and for this to happen when I had it…"

"This could've happened if I had the car and actually has. This is not your fault. Things happen. I'd take the windshield being smashed or the tires being slashed any day instead of something happening to you. I'm just thankful that it didn't happen when you were in the car or near it." He looked around for a moment before pulling her close again and pressing a kiss to her cheek. "Don't worry about it. This can get fixed easy but will cost a pretty penny for sure. Where are the keys?"

"In my locker," she replied. "In my purse."

"I'll drive it to the repair shop after you get off. We'll just have to car pool until it can get fixed." He looked at the time. "You should hit the road, Eddie. You don't want McNicolas finding out that you haven't left yet."

She made a face at him and sighed, "I know. I know. But you'll take care of the car?"

He nodded, "I will. If I can get it to the repair shop earlier, I'll just go in the locker room and grab the keys from your purse." He spots Badillo out of the corner of his eye standing next to their patrol car. He reaches out and squeezes her hand. "Now you should really go. I'll see you later. Have a good shift and be safe."

She smiled up at him and nodded, "You too."

Their hands lingered for a minute before Eddie finally let go of his hand and started to make her way toward the patrol car. She looked back at him for a quick minute, flashed a small smile before getting into the car with Badillo and driving off.
