A/N: It has been quite a year. I have been trying to decided to what to do about Jayden and Emily's story. I have been jumping between ideas and I finally settles on one. You can all thank the Saber Tooth Tiger zord for that. I might actually write the other story I have in mind at some point, but it might not be an Emily and Jayden story. We'll see though. I like writing for these two. I still want to explore Jake and Emma more, plus I have had someone ask me about Casey and Emma. I'm excited for 2024! Let's do this!

Came The Dawn

The California sun shined down on her as she walked out of the airport. She didn't ever think she would be back here, but she knew she couldn't run any longer. She had to face him and the mess she made. The two happy couples in front of her made her regret choice a little less, but she was still worried.

How would he react to seeing her?

Would he be happy or would he be disappointed?

He was the one person she never wanted to disappoint. He had broken her heart, but she couldn't stand the thought that she had broken his.

"Are you happy to be back?" Troy asked her.

He and Noah were walking in front of her. They were holding hands and laughing to themselves. "Of course I'm happy to be back." She answered him as she stole a peak back at Emma and Jake. They seemed lost in their own little world and Emily was happy for them. She just hoped her own story ended the same way.

She was going to stay with Troy and Noah for the night and tomorrow she would head off to see Jayden. It had been a long time, but she would still be glad to see him. He had taught her a lot over the years and she had been thankful for him.

It was just hard when your soul mate only cared about saving the world.

They made their way to Troy's car and piled all of Emily and Emma's stuff into the trunk. She sat in the back with the Emma and Jake, who didn't even notice she was there until Troy dropped them off. Emma gave her a hug and thanked her for everything.

"Emma you don't have to thank me for anything." Emily didn't feel like she had done anything to help out her fellow ranger. Emma just gave her a soft smile and response before she took Jake's hand and walked away.

They arrived at Noah and Troy's place about ten minutes later. Noah unlocked the door and she followed the boys inside. Troy took her suitcase and wheeled it to the guest room while Emily stood in the doorway.

She could do this. She didn't need to run from everything anymore.

"I'm going to order some take out." Noah told her before he headed off to the kitchen. She had offered to cook dinner for them. They were letting her stay the night at their place, it was the least she could do. The boys wouldn't hear it though, so tonight they would be having Chinese. The food would arrive about thirty minutes later and she sat down with them in the living room and began to eat.

"How long has he known?" Emily asked Troy.

"He didn't tell me," Troy answered her question right away. "But you know how Jayden is."

Of course she knew how Jayden was. She had fought by his side and lived with him. She just wondered when it all finally hit him, but Troy was right, Jayden wasn't going to tell him that.

The doorbell rang a few minutes later and they all looked at one another. All three of them were confused. They didn't know who it could be.

"Is it Jayden?" Emily asked and Noah shook his head.

"He doesn't know you're here." Troy said as he got up to answer the door.

He opened it and he smiled at whoever was on the other side. He let them in and it turned out it was Aisha Campbell.

"It's good to see you guys again, but I need to speak to Emily." She told them as Emily stood up and followed Aisha to the guest room.

"What's going on?" Emily asked her fellow ranger. She wanted to know how Aisha knew she was in California, but she didn't ask. She knew better than to ask.

"I am leading a team of former Yellow rangers on a mission," Aisha got straight to the point. "I have reason to believe I know where the Saber Tooth Tiger power coin is."

The power coins for the five original zords had been lost after they had been destroyed. The other four had been found, but the saber tooth tiger one had been missing for nearly thirty years. Aisha herself had never been in control of the zord herself.

Trini Kwan had. However, Trini was gone now and Aisha felt like she had to pick up the mantle.

"I'll be happy to help you. When are we leaving?" Emily asked. She had to do this. She had come to face Jayden, but he could wait. He would understand. This was ranger business and that always came first.

Plus, she had liked Trini. She was kind and wise. It broke Emily's heart when she found out that she had died.

"We can go now, if you're ready." Aisha said.

"I am." Emily replied and she grabbed her morpher from her bag. She followed Aisha back out into the living room and stopped to tell the boys what was going on.

"Be careful." Noah told her as he gave her a hug. She hugged him back. He understood what she had to do, they both did.

"I will and I am sorry about my bag." She told him as he hugged her a little tighter.

"It's okay." He told her as he pulled away. Troy came up and pulled her into a hug.

"You've got this Emily and we'll handle things here." Troy said and Emily knew he was talking about Jayden. She pulled away and nodded her head.

She followed Aisha out and they were on their way to where they needed to go.

"I don't like this." Troy told Noah once they were gone.

"Why did you let her go?" Noah asked.

"Would she have listened to me?" Troy shot back as he grabbed his phone.

"Who are you calling?" Noah asked but he had a feeling he knew who it was.

"Jason." He made his way into their room and dialed the first red ranger's number.

Thankfully, Jason picked up on the second ring and greeted Troy.

"Aisha Campbell came and took Emily away for a secret mission." Troy got straight to the point. Jason sighed on the other end.

"She has made it her life's mission to find that power coin ever since Trini died," Jason sounded sad but Troy didn't mention it. "I'm going to call thee other reds and see if she has contacted any other yellow rangers. I need you to call Jayden and see if he and his mentor can track Emily."

Jason had a point. Now that Emily would be morphing, she could be tracked through the morphing grid. He couldn't believe he had forgotten about that. Troy said his goodbyes and sent off a quick text message to Gia before he reached out to Jayden.

Gia quickly texted back that she had not been contacted. She assured him that she would contact him if she was though. Troy sighed and scrolled through his contacts until he found Jayden. He hit the green button and waited for Jayden to pick up,

"Hey Troy," Jayden picked up his phone after one ring. "What's going on?"

"I have some news." Troy told him before he told Jayden everything. The Samurai Red Ranger remained quiet throughout the whole thing. Troy was unsure how his friend would take the news, but Jayden got right down to business.

"I'm going to contact Jason and have him get you and Noah," He told Troy. "You can come here and we can track Emily and whoever else we need to."

"Okay." Troy knew better than to argue at this point. He said his goodbyes to Jayden and headed out back out into the living room.

"What's going on?" Noah asked. His voice was laced with concern.

"Jason is coming to get us and we're going to Jayden' place," Troy told him. "Jason is worried about Aisha and thinks she is in over her head."

"Do think someone else is looking for the power coin?" Noah asked and Troy shook his head.

"I don't know. I guess we'll find out." He told Noah as they waited for Jason.
