She has to find a right day for it. Then she was told by Alphonse that he is going out to hang with some friends and have a drink or two and won't be back till the morning. That gave Patricia the chance to run away that very night.

Carrying nothing, but her father's high school ring, her mother's scarf and a photo of her and her parents inside a bag that she made herself that is tied around her waist, she started her way. Patricia was on her way to freedom.

Patricia stowed away on buses and most of the time, she walked. She then finally made it to the big apple, New York City. She hopes that she can find shelter. Then she found it from a big box that would hold a refrigerator. Then she found food from the trash that still tastes good.

After her meal, she settled down in her shelter and looked at the stars. She saw two of them twinkling and she thinks it's her parents. Tears then started to from in her eyes. She cried herself to sleep. She just misses her parents very much.

Before she went to sleep from the crying, she made a wish in her mind. Her wish is that she would have a life that is different. What she didn't know is that her life is going to change forever.

Author's note: I know this chapter is short, but I'm in a fast pace this morning.
