AN: This was strongly inspired by XVDragon's fic, Blizzard's Christmas Chaos.
AN2: This is a mix of various Marvel media. Most notably, Spider-Man is roughly the same age as Kamala Khan.
It was…unexpected to say the least.
When Tony Stark had hung up mistletoe in the Avengers Tower, he knew that at least one couple would take advantage of it. There was even a betting pool as to who would be the first.
Some thought that Bruce Banner and Natasha Romanoff would be the first. Others leaned towards the younger couples, like Gwen and Miles. There was even some who thought that T'Challa and his wife Ororo would be the first when they visited later that month.
What nobody expected to see was the couple who finally did make the first kiss. One didn't even celebrate Christmas and the other was rarely seen in the Avengers tower.
Still, there was no denying the photographic evidence staring at them. (Tony had made sure to set up a hidden camera to capture the moment.)
"Hah! Pay up brother!" Loki crowed, holding his hand out. Thor handed him a few dollars, grumbling as he did.
"About time," Nick Fury said as he looked at the picture. "Those two are not subtle."
"Would have been nice if they had waited until after someone else had kissed under the mistletoe first," Clint grumbled as he handed money to Loki. "They've gone and cost me fifty bucks."
"You were close to," Tony said with a grin. "Just twenty minutes between them and Bruce and Natasha." He looked at the picture again. "Kid's got game, I'll give him that."
Loki looked expectantly at Tony, who sighed and handed him a wad of money.
"How'd you do it?" he asked and Loki raised an eyebrow. "How'd you figure out that they would be first?"
Loki laughed.
"I didn't," he said with a smirk. "I just wanted to bet on random chaos." He grinned at his brother. "I have something of a talent for it."
"Still can't believe the kid found the balls to finally kiss the damn girl," Wolverine growled, with a hint of hidden amusement in his voice. "It's about damn time."
"They could have waited twenty minutes longer," Tony grumbled as a smirking Loki counted his winnings obnoxiously. (How it was possible to count obnoxiously was a mystery, but Loki managed it with a smug expression on his face. He knew EXACTLY what he was doing.)
So what are the odds we're going to see the two of them walking around with big goofy grins?" Tony asked, looking around the various heroes around him. (Did Loki count as a hero? He was technically reformed. Tony decided that he could ponder the question later.)
"Suckers bet," Clint said with a shrug. "Those two have been dancing around one another for a long time. There's no way they won't have goofy grins. And a few more kisses under the mistletoe." He grinned. "And a few kisses in other places as well."
"Pray brother, how much money have you won from these lovers?" Thor asked and Loki grinned, his eyes gleaming manically.
"Dear brother, you wouldn't want me to brag," he said. Tony rolled his eyes.
"Between all the bets, he's won three hundred and fifty dollars and sixty-two cents. And three quarters," he said and Loki smirked.
"Three quarters?" Nick Fury asked. Loki looked at Clint, who rolled his eyes and shrugged.
"I wasn't going to let my kids bet their entire allowance," he said nonchalantly.
"Not to worry, I wouldn't deprive your children of their allowance. It's no fun," Loki said with a grin, before looking at Thor. "My brother on the other hand…" He stopped and laughed at the look on Thor's face.
"So…any bets on when they'll tell us the news?" Tony asked and Wolverine pulled out ten dollars.
"Ten bucks says they'll crack and tell us before Christmas," he said.
"I bet New Years Day," Clint said sourly as he put down a twenty dollar bill.
"Those two are not as subtle as they like to think. Put me down for thirty bucks on them telling us before the end of the week," Nick Fury said, much to everyone's surprise. He shrugged. "Figured I might as well join in the fun."
"I will bet on them telling us now," Loki said with a shit eating grin on his face as he pointedly looked at the door. The others followed his gaze to see the couple in question. The couple in the photograph.
Standing there, with sheepish looks on their faces, stood Peter Parker and Kamala Khan.
"Ummm…we're together?" Kamala said and Loki burst out laughing.
