IMPORTANT: This fanfiction is NOT cannon to the show, at all. Different ending n' that jazz.

Hello there everyone, how are you all doing? I hope you're all doing well! Also… happy new year!

So this isn't really your typical RPM fanfiction you come across, it leans more onto the dark, edgy side of things. It will take a while for all the chapters to come out since I'm still currently working on the chapters.

PLEASE take notes of the fact that this story covers themes to do with blood, psychological problems, attempted body modification, near-death experiences and themes that go along with death, and also mentions of surgery. (But not in this chapter).

This fanfiction will centre around Flynn/ Gemma, with hints of Summer/Dillion, Summer/ Scott, and Dr. K/Ziggy.

Although the main plots that centre around these pairings start at chapter 3.

If there is grammar mistakes, I'm sorry. I am trying, but they do eventually slip past me once and again.

Anyways, I do NOT own Power Rangers, if I did well let's just say I would change a lot of things.

Inside The Walls

-Chapter One-

Another day, another morning. At this point she felt like her days are all just blending together to create, well, a vast amount of nothingness.

Everyday was the same, she woke up, got changed, brushed her teeth and had breakfast.

There was times where she'd help out Gem with an awesome new explosive device, or she'd help Dr. K with upgrade the zords or the ranger artillery. But her favourite rare occurrences were when Flynn would ask her for help on one of his new gadgets, every time he asked it would be something new and more exiting than building an explosive device with Gem could ever be.

She didn't mean it in a bad way of course, it's just that building the same thing over and over again just gets boring once in a while. She didn't really complain all that much though, she loves spending time with people who are close to her.

Today was different though, it seems like everybody knew it as well. There was a scarce silence trending around the Garage, and nobody liked it. Even the lighthearted Ziggy was quiet, and it was the weirdest thing she's seen since entering Corinth with Gem.

Everyone turned their attention to the lab doors opening as their mentor Dr. K arrived with her infamous blank face on. There was no emotion whatsoever, though you couldn't blame her, she'd been through a lot in her short life.

Through being abducted by the government, growing up in Alphabet Soup and releasing the Venjix virus, Dr. K had been through too much for a person of her age.

"Series Operators, there is an important matter I must discuss with you all."

The rangers looked at each other before following Dr. K into the lab, they were all secretly hoping that nothing was wrong, that it was a simple request to go out and do the shopping. But they all knew it wasn't going to be as simple as that, if she wanted the rangers to go and get the shopping, she would've just told them in the main area of the garage and that's that.

They all fell into a line as they waited for Dr. K to announce that Venjix has made another advancement and that they'll need to come up with some new technology to fight him.

"Rangers, Venjix has managed to create technology that will biologically alter your connection to your morphers, I can assure you I'm working on a solution for this, but it has seemed I have ran into an incursion in this plan."

The rangers blinked, waves of shock haunted their minds after hearing that their own genetics could be their very own downfall, but for two rangers it seems like their worlds had just crashed and burned.

"An incursion? What's the incursion Doc?"

Scott's voice broke through the eerie silence the other rangers broadcasted amongst themselves.

"It seems that I lack the necessary genetic files for Ranger Operators Series Gold and Silver. Without these files i will not be able to DNA lock the morphers firmly and release a virus that will block Venjix from accessing your genetics through the biofield without destroying them in the process."

There it was, the bandaid was ripped off. The other rangers gasped hearing the news, but one questioned pondered the twin's mind.

"But Doc..."

"What about Dillion?"

Gemma finished Gem's sentence, it took a moment or so for the other rangers to realise that they had a point. Dr. K just shrugged at their question.

"The Venjix software built into Ranger Operator Series Black's internal structure has mutilated his genetics so far to confuse the biofeild into making the Venjix virus unable to penetrate it, and the weekly antivirus uploads into Ranger Operator Series Black internal systems do help to block Venjix's attempt at trying to defeat him through his own genetics."

Ziggy piped up next, he did his every day Ziggy stunt of talking with his hands.

"But can't you just have them take a blood test and get their genetic history through that way? I mean."

Ziggy pointed out the obvious was, which prompted Summer to pipe up next, she took a small step forward before speaking.

"He's got a point Dr. K. If we do it that way there's no way it could backfire."

Dr. K sighed, this was going to be a tedious back and forth conversation, isn't it?

"On the contrary Ranger Operator Series Yellow, we are on a short stalk of medicine and medical equipment. The Colonel has asked if we can restrain from using any one-time-use medical equipment if it's not a medical emergency, and before you pitch in again Ranger Operator Series Green, there is another option, but, it's risky to say the least."

Flynn took a long glance over at the twins, particularly the one in the silver tracksuit before having a lonesome quiet sigh to himself. "Fits' our other option Doc?"

"Our only other option here is to send in two of you to retrieve from private files from the remains of Alphabet soup."

The rangers were all faced with shock at the realisation, on the other hand they didn't want to waste medical equipment for something that has another way of doing it, but in the other hand the other option is dangerous, and they didn't want to risk two teamates for it.

"There has to be another way Doc, we can't risk losing two of us for such a..."

Dillion was struggling to find the words to finish his sentence, there was so many words to chose from, but there was none that really incapsulated his feelings at the situation at hand.

"I know, but unless we want to waste medical equipment that we are going to run out of sooner or later or risk killing Series Operators Gold and Silver, it's our only option."

Everybody in the room fell back into that eerie silence they had earlier, but this time it was full of dread. They wanted to push Dr. K more, to try and see if there was any other way, but there wasn't. There was never going to be another way other than to temporarily lose two members of the team for a few days, but that only leaves one unanswered question left behind.

Scott thought for a second before he piped up. "Who's gonna go then?"

Dr K looked around, she had thought about which two members of her team she'd send out to do this dangerous mission, and she had thought through each and every outcome.

Firstly, either Gem and Gemma would need to go, they knew the layout of the building through and through, and they needed someone with a car to go as well, because they are going to bring survival gear, and it was a quick way of travelling.

Dillion was an obvious no, as he needed the weekly antivirus updates to make sure Venjix doesn't take over him. Summer is also a no, just as she can break up fights and arguments with no bother whatsoever. So if she was sent out on the mission with either Gem or Gemma, it was very likely that Scott and Dillion would get into a physical fight, and Summer doesn't drive a car. Ziggy was definitely not an option for this task, he couldn't even drive, and he also didn't have a car. Scott is also a no, he's the team leader, he's needed here in Corinth to lead the team and to keep them in check.

Now knowing what ranger with a car would go, she then thought about which twin should go. It made her realise that it would be better for Gem to stay, because it's very likely his impulsive and explosive personality would most likely be a problem during the mission if he were sent. As no matter who he is around, Gem is always outgoing and loud. So by process of elimination, she was left with only two rangers.

"Gemma and Flynn will go."

"Eh!" The rangers all shared the same reaction as they heard the news, and they all began to talk over each other. Dr K had to endure it until she could find the right words to cut through this mess of voices.

"Series Operators!"

The rangers quieted down after she had yelled loud enough to break through the radical amount of noise they had made. "I have came to this conclusion because it's the best possible pairing for this mission, and I do not need to elaborate on such simple matters when I can turn my attention to the task at hand, do I make myself clear!"

"Yes Dr K."

"Now please leave, I need time to finish uploading a program that will allow Series Operators Blue and Silver's zords to run on autopilot."

Dr. K sat down on her office chair before resuming her work, the other rangers just looked at each other with defeated looks on their faces before they left the lab. Dr. K sighed with relief, she needed time to rewind and think clearly enough to finish the program that would allow the two zords to run on autopilot.

There was more chatter around the main area of the Garage after they were called to the lab by Dr. K, Ziggy and Gem were talking as Gem gave our daggers towards Flynn, who was just working on an invention of some sort, Dillion and Scott were having some sort of a verbal argument about who's car is faster, and then there's Summer, who's just sitting on a kitchen stool staring at a screen.

Gemma decided that Summer was the best person to talk to first, she was feeling complicated feelings towards this, and Summer was the best person to talk to about this sort of stuff. So Gemma quickly wrote down a note asking if Summer could come upstairs to talk.

After Gemma had written out the note she scrunched it up, and threw it from the upstairs area of the garage, she smiled as it hit its intended target.

Summer jumped a little bit as the scrunched up note hit her on the side of her head, bringing her out of her little dreamworld she was stuck in for a few minutes.

Unscrunching the note and reading it, she looked up to see who threw it at her. She chuckled when she saw it was Gemma who threw it at her, she had a feeling that Gemma would want a friend to talk to about her upcoming mission with Flynn.

Getting up from the stool she had perched herself on, she made her way upstairs and met face-to-face with Gemma.

"I'm guessing you want to talk about your upcoming mission?"

"Mhm."

Gemma nodded, she kept herself quiet as to not alert the boys on the main floor at the Garage. She stood and watched them for a second, hoping that nobody can spot them so they can have a private chat without anybody interrupting. Summer took a quick look around before she turned to Gemma.

"I'm guessing you'd like to have a chat in my room?"

"Anywhere private will do, so, sure."

The girls walked into Summer's room and she quietly closed the door. Gemma took a moment to register how calm Summer's room felt. It was a room with simple grey walls with a few yellow decorations and furniture scattered about, there was also two yellow beanbags in the corner. Gemma chose to sit on one of the beanbags while Summer chose to sit on her bed.

"I'm just going to rip off the bandaid now, do you like Flynn?"

Gemma held her breath for a moment there, were her feelings towards the Blue Ranger that obvious? She tried her hardest to not make her feelings towards Flynn obvious, especially since she's never really experienced these kinds of feelings before, it was all very new and scary. But maybe she was over thinking, maybe Summer is asking if she likes Flynn as a friend?

"I like him as a friend, he's really interesting..."

"I didn't mean like in that way, I meant do you like him in a non-friendly way?"

Gemma froze up again, did Summer know? No, that was a stupid question, of course Summer knew about her romantic feelings towards Flynn. Summer was smart with emotions, and Gemma admired that. Growing up in Alphabet Soup had stripped her of a normal childhood, and she wasn't able to become emotionally smart like others.

"I-"

Gemma didn't know what to say, she could only get the heat rising in her cheeks as she began to feel more nervous. Thankfully though, she was saved from the embarrassment she was about to endure by the ruckus that was coming from the main floor.

She and Summer rushed out of Summer's room to see what was happening, they were expecting it to be Dillion and Scott who had somehow managed to get into a physical fight. But they were wrong, very wrong. Gemma gasped as she saw who was causing the ruckus, it was Gem and Flynn.

She couldn't understand what was happening, Gem was being loud and seemingly acting as the instigator in this situation yelling at Flynn while he was trying to move out of Gem's way. Flynn seemingly didn't want to fight, moving sloppily around the garage floor in order to try and keep a distance from the obviously infuriated Gem, but Gem kept getting closer and closer to him.

The next thing she knew, she had somehow made it to the main floor to break up the argument before it escalated into a physical fight. As she got closer she registered what the men were saying better.

"How could you say that!? She's my sister! My sister! Not a thing for you to think about in that way!"

"Gem- you've got me all wrong lad, I didn't mean it like that!"

Gemma's seemed to have ran on autopilot, she stood between the two males in the blink of an eye. It was stupid, she knew that, but she had to intervene.

Then the next thing she knew, she was sat on the ground with immense pain surrounding her nasal area and the back of her head. She reached up to touch her nose and it was gushing of blood.

She looked up, Gem had punched her? No, he was aiming for Flynn for god knows why, but he had accidentally hit her instead. She just got in the way and got hurt between the crossfire between the two boys.

She breathed heavily as time seemingly slowed down around her, her vision and hearing distorted as she heard faint voices bounce around the room with coloured blobs ran around trying to get something, or someone.

Her lungs began to flood with panic as pain was inflicted across her face, memories of the past fled back to her as she succumbed to darkness…

Hi everyone, so again I hope you're years going good so far! I know I've posted a bit more recently, but in reality there's no schedule in place, it's just whatever timing is convenient and what fanfictions are finished at that time.

I do have to say, I have a bit of an advantage here when it comes to writing Flynn's character, as I am from the cheery old land of Scotland myself, haha.

Anyways, it probably will be a while before the other chapters are released. My plan is to finish the rest of the chapters and do one big release, but that probably will change depending on what future me decides to do, I don't control their actions.

Watching RPM I have realised the twins are generally calmer when they're separated, so I decided to take that observation and run off with it.

I do tend to ramble on these, sorry about that. I'll just let you go now. Bye, have a good day/evening/night, and I'll see you when chapter 2 is posted. - Tj.
