February 13th, so I've been living in Gravesfield for the last two days after the whole Demon Realm thing where there would have been a genocidal event but it was stopped by a god who is now causing a lot of damage, and so far, I am really liking the small town aesthetic, it seems like it has a lot of history to it. I should probably study it. Before I moved here, I was worried about not having any friends but thankfully, I have Luz, Amity and Vee as my friends. Although, we are spending a lot of time trying to find a way back home. I have read every book about multiversal travel, watched every video regarding that theory and even tried designing a portal. But, it was much smaller than I drawn out. So anyway, at the moment, we are in the cabin trying to figure out a way back to the Demon Realm.
In the Cabin, Marcy was busy writing and drawing notes, Luz was pacing around the cabin trying to think of a plan, Amity had hung up a picture of her family to remind her who she's fighting to get home to while Vee was sitting on the floor.
The basilisk groaned as she realised how wooden and splintery the floor was. "Ow! We really need to put some seats in this place."
"And maybe refurbish it a bit." Marcy said before standing up and getting her foot stuck in the wooden floor. "Aww dang it! Was this really the best place for base of operations?"
"We don't have time to find a base of operations." Luz, whom had a band aid on her eyebrow, protested. "This is the best place for us to hold up. But, maybe we can try and improve the place up a bit while we have still have time but the main priority is getting you back home and saving the Demon Realm."
Amity seemed surprised by her girlfriend's idea. "Luz, you sure about this? I just came back to the Human Realm and I didn't get much time exploring it the last time, maybe we could….I don't know, see a human park?"
Luz sighed with frustration. "Look Amity, as much as I want to go out and enjoy myself, what's important is we try and find a way back to stop the Collector."
Amity seemed disappointed by this. She knew that getting back to her home was important but she wanted to take the opportunity to spend some time in the Human Realm.
"Oh, yeah. I guess you're right." Amity said with disappointment.
Luz looked guilty hearing her girlfriend's disappointment but she quickly tossed that aside to focus on the main task at hand, opening up a portal.
Even Marcy saw how regretful Luz looked about this. "Oh man." Marcy whispered to herself.
"Oh, looks like their relationship is on the rocks already." The hallucination of Darcy said as they appeared behind Marcy. For the last two days, Marcy had been hallucinating her as Darcy. They haven't done anything that sinister yet, but she was still creeped out. "So, you wanna bet that Luz will be the dumper? Or do you think the heartbroken witch will dump her?" But Marcy didn't respond, not wanting to seem crazy to her friends. This made Darcy slightly annoyed since wanting to traumatise and torment her was their true intention. Marcy was ignoring them by writing in her journal. "Come on! React a little!" They grinned. "Oh, you don't want your friends to think you're crazy, don't you? Aww! Well, you're hallucinating me, so I say you're already are."
Then Vee slithered up to Marcy with a curious expression on her face. "Why are you just writing ignore in your journal?" The basilisk asked.
Marcy looked at her journal and saw that she indeed had written a bunch of ignores in it. "Oh…Right." Marcy nervously chuckled before tearing off the page and ate it.
"Oookay."
"So Vee, I heard you made friends when you were impersonating Luz." Marcy said.
"Oh yeah." Vee responded. "They were friends I made at camp. There was Lincoln, he was only there because his parents wanted him to make friends instead of staying in his bedroom playing guitar; Then there was Mary-Beth, she was sent because she was scared of making friends and wasn't about getting a job; Then there was Masha." When Vee mentioned their name, she was blushing. "They were sent because they were into a lot of dark stuff and is good at making people uncomfortable."
"Uh oh, you're blushing!" Marcy said teasingly. "Over someone who makes people uncomfortable."
"Blushing?!" Vee tried to hide her red cheeks by looking away and slamming her hands on her cheeks. "No!"
Marcy leaned in closer. "Oooooh, you're crushing!"
"No I'm not!" Vee protested. "They're….They're…Cool."
"Uh huh."
"Plus, they're weird yet unique. They're creepy yet there's something beautiful about them." Vee explained while Marcy playfully grinned. "Okay! I might have a crush on them!"
"That's great!" Marcy exclaimed. "Isn't this great Luz?!"
But Luz was really spaced out that she couldn't hear anyone since she was thinking about how to get back to the Demon Realm. "Huh…What?"
"Your sister has a crush." Marcy replied.
Luz just smiled. "Oh really? That's great." But she wasn't being enthusiastic about this news which worried not her sister but her girlfriend as well.
"Are her reactions usually this underwhelming?" Marcy asked.
"No." Amity replied. "I can't believe she's being this way. It wasn't her fault. She chose to save Amphibia. Eda understood."
"Let's not look on the downside here." Marcy said. "We can still save the Boiling Isles, it's probably going to take a long time."
"But, disregarding that, did you and Masha get anywhere?" Amity asked.
"Well….Not really." Vee replied. "I tried to do something with them, ya know, thought it'd be nice if Luz had someone for her when she got back. But, now it's awkward knowing that you exist."
"I mean, if you made plans with them for my girlfriend than I will be pretty annoyed." Amity said.
Then, Camila entered the shack. "Hiiiii!"
"Hi Mom." Vee said.
"Hey Camila." Amity said.
"Wassup Ms Noceda." Marcy said.
"Oh, hey Mom." Luz said with a depressed look.
"I came here to tell you kids, ¡visitante! ¡Visitante!" Camila exclaimed.
"Huh?" Marcy reacted as she saw Amity hide her ears behind her hair and Vee shape changing into her human disguise.
"It's a code word for visitor." Amity replied. "We don't want to freak anyone out."
"Good idea." Marcy remarked.
"Who is it?" Luz asked.
Camila looked over her shoulder before turning to face the visitor. "She's here." She moved aside to reveal a person with black bob cut, dark brown eyes and a tooth gap and finger nails that were painted like the non-binary flag. They were wearing a dark green shirt and dark blue jeans.
"Hey Luz." The person said.
Luz recognised them as one of Vee's friends. Specifically, the one that somehow managed to read Vee through their Hexes Hold'Em cards.
Luz having no idea who this person was, froze. "Uh….Hey….Friend?"
The person laughed. "Still the same as ever, Luz." They turned to face the other strangers. "And these must be your new friends."
Amity raised her hand. "Actually I'm…"
"Cool." They interjected. "I'm Masha."
Vee's cheeks turned red while Marcy grinned. "Oh hey." Vee stuttered. "You must be Luz's beau….I mean, gor….I mean, friend! Friend! Because that's what you are."
"Boy, you weren't kidding." Marcy remarked quietly.
Masha laughed. "Aww, you've been talking about me." They smiled at Luz.
"So, Masha, what brings you here, cariño?" Camila asked. "You said you wanted to talk to Luz about something."
"Oh yeah, you know what tomorrow is?" Masha asked Luz.
"Uh…No?" Luz replied in confusion.
"Oh, good thing I came over, it's our date." Masha response caused Marcy to gasp, Camila to be surprised, Vee to squeal and Amity to gasp.
"What?" Amity reacted in shock.
"Huh?"
"Of course you'd forget." Masha said as they approached a confused and shocked Luz. "It's been a few months so that's not surprising."
Luz chuckled nervously. "Uh…Catch me up. Because, I was very, very busy." She gritted her teeth and narrowed her eyes at her sister.
"Oh, a few months ago, we kind of confessed our feelings for each other." Masha explained. "And we made an agreement to go out on a date on Valentines Day, which is tomorrow."
"Valentines Day?" Amity reacted. "What's that?"
"It's a day on February 14th where a lot of couples spend time together." Marcy replied.
"What?!" Amity exclaimed.
"Huh, haven't heard of Valentines Day?" Masha remarked. "Must be from out of town."
Luz hated to break this person's heart. But she had a girlfriend and loved her. Even though she feels she shouldn't love her back.
Luz sighed with regret. "Masha…"
"Luz, I would like to say that I'm glad that you said yes to wanting to go and have a Valentines Day with me." Masha said. "It's just, not a lot of people have asked me out because they found me weird. But, I'm glad that someone became attracted to me even though I act like it doesn't bother me, it has for years until you came about. And I'm happy."
Masha's little speech made Luz stop and sweat as she began to feel regret for about to reject them. "Well, I'll see you tomorrow then."
Camila was surprised, Vee began biting her nails while Amity narrowed her eyes at her girlfriend for her mistake.
"Cool, see you tomorrow." Masha was about to give Luz a quick kiss, but Luz stopped them by pressing her finger to their lips.
"Let's save…The more affectionate stuff for tomorrow."
Instead of being annoyed Masha smiled. "Okay. I got it. See you tomorrow Luz." Masha exited the room and then stopped on the porch. "Oh, I don't know if this place is the best hideout. I heard that weird Jacob guy still places cameras around."
Once they left, Luz's smile disappeared and narrowed her eyes at Vee. "You gave me a Valentines Day date?!"
"You said yes?!" Amity exclaimed.
"Uh, I have too much on my hands right now!" Luz groaned with frustration. "I have to get my friends back to the Demon Realm and now I have to deal with some date which would probably ruin my relationship with Blight! So thanks a lot Vee!"
"Mija!" Camila chided. "Vee had no idea that you had a girlfriend so cut her some slack!"
"Luz, why did you say yes?!" Amity angrily yelled at her girlfriend.
"I said yes because I felt sorry for them!" Luz argued.
"Without thinking of me?!"
"I have a lot going on right now!" Luz argued.
"Luz, I seriously had good intentions!" Vee argued.
"You should have asked if I was in a relationship!" Luz argued.
"Oh, like you didn't think about it right now?!"
"We could just say plans change." Camila suggested.
"And break there're heart?!" Luz exclaimed.
"Why do you have to be so nice?!" Amity asked angrily.
"Isn't that why you fell in love with her?!" Vee asked angrily.
"What does this have to do with anything?!"
And so, Luz, Amity, Camila and Vee continued to argue while Marcy just stood by feeling awkward and uncomfortable with them being this negative towards each other.
Darcy in the other hand, was grinning sinisterly. "Ohhhhh, looks like they won't get back now. So, you wanna bet Amity dumps Luz? But still, they won't get back to the Demon now all because of a stupid, little, lonely human who just wanted Luz for themselves. And the Collector will destroy the Demon Realm and kill Yunan all because you sat there and let them fall out."
"SHUT UP!" Marcy cried, trying to shut up Darcy. But, her loud scream caused the Nocedas and Blight to quiet down as well. She froze while Luz narrowed her eyes at Marcy.
"Well Wu, got anything to say?" Luz asked.
Marcy had to think of something to say in order to not seem suspicious. So, she did. "I think you four are missing the obvious solution. Luz, do you know Masha?"
"No." Luz replied.
"And Vee, do you know Masha?" Marcy asked.
"Yes." Vee replied.
"Well, you can take over for Luz." Marcy said. "You can take her form."
"But, what if they notice the difference?" Amity pointed out.
"They won't. Because they knew Vee as Luz not Luz as Luz." Marcy replied. "It's a simple solution I think you guys have missed."
Everyone thought about Marcy's suggestion for a moment until Vee broke the silence. "She has a point."
"Yeah. This sounds like a good plan." Luz agreed.
"Marcy, you're a genius!" Amity said with a smile. "What would we do without you?"
Marcy gushed. "Aww, shucks."
Darcy on the other hand was annoyed by this. "You clever bitch." Darcy said.
"Okay, so tomorrow, I'll be going on my date!" Vee exclaimed happily before beginning to sweat. "But as Luz. And that person is someone I happen to like. A lot."
"And while you have your Valentines Day date, I think you and I should do the same Luz." Amity said.
But Luz looked disappointed. "I'm sorry Amity. I'm too focused to find a way back home."
"What?" Amity reacted.
"Look Amity, spending Valentines Day with my girlfriend would be awesome but, I really need to get you home to your dad." Luz said. "And your siblings. I just can't stop now."
Amity looked disappointed and sad with her girlfriend. She wanted to be angry with her for putting her in front of her own wants. She knows Luz wants to spend Valentines Day with her but due to her wanting to put other's needs in front of her own, it's like she's treating it like nothing.
"I….Understand, Luz." Amity began to walk away sadly, something that made Luz shocked and saddened as she tried to chase after Amity.
"Amity!" But Luz's thoughts were too focused on the portal and walked back inside the Shack.
Camila was not only upset about Amity's reaction, but also Luz not giving herself a break.
She gave her daughter a concerned look. "Luz, don't you think you let Amity down a little hard?"
"Look Mom, I love Amity, but this is more important!" Luz protested.
"Mija, I think this is becoming an unhealthy obsession." Camila said. "You need to have a rest. Just have a Valentines Day with your girlfriend. Do you care about her?"
"Of course I do." Luz protested. "But I have to…."
"That must wait, Mija!" Camila said. "You want to spend time with her, I know you do. This is going to take some time to find a way back so I think you need to take some time to have some private time to yourself. I mean, did you see how sad your girlfriend was?" Vee shape shifted into Amity and did a sad face. "Mija, I think Luz has the idea."
Vee shape changed back into her human disguise. "Sorry, Mom."
"Mija, I think it would be nice to cheer Amity up a bit, don't you think?" She asked. "Plus, I think Amity might need help understand Valentines Day. Think you can do that?"
Luz knew her mother was right. She wanted to go and have a Valentines Day with her girlfriend and seeing her upset and her mother encouraging was the push she needed.
"Okay." Luz said. "I'll do it. For her." She gave a confident smile.
"Then I think you better start planning." Camila suggested.
Luz ran out of the Shack to go talk to her girlfriend and tell her the plans she was already thinking of doing.
"And what about you, Marcy?" Vee asked. "Do you have Valentines plans?"
Marcy blew a raspberry. "Sorry, I don't have any. I can stay back and study more about portal technology. I honestly don't mind being single. As much as I want to find a boyfriend, girlfriend or any kind of partner, I just don't know if they'll be interested in me in someway which is fine by me because I'm totally happy being single."
"You're not." Darcy said.
"Okay then." Vee said. "Tomorrow sounds like it's going to be great! I mean, fate would have to be cruel to make tomorrow a bust!"
Unbeknownst to everyone, a small hidden camera that was hiding in the corner of the recording everything and it appeared to be recording live.
Later that night, Luz had managed to get to sleep despite the fact she was still haunted by the events of the Day of Unity.
Amity on the other hand, was excited about having her first Valentines Day. Even though she doesn't know much about it, she was just looking forward to have a nice little date with her girlfriend.
She then heard the sound of someone shapeshifting. She sat up on her bed and looked to her right to see Vee looking at herself in the mirror and shapeshifting into her, the human form and Luz in various clothing. Which included her trademark indigo shirt, the jock jacket and her trademark Luz disguise.
"Hey Vee." Amity said quietly. "Can't sleep?"
Vee turned to her possible future sister-in-law. "Trying to find the perfect Luz look. Should I just go with my look. The smooth hair?"
"Well, I since you're impersonating my girlfriend, I'd just think you're hot no matter what you'd wear." Amity replied.
"Thanks." Vee said with a hint of sadness.
Amity looked worried for her. "Something wrong, Vee?"
Vee sighed. "I've been thinking Amity, what if I just tell the truth to them? That I'm not Luz. I mean, I won't, but what if I do?"
"What are you even planning?" Amity asked.
"I don't know." Vee replied. "I thought maybe if I were Luz I would just let them down easily and then I come in as Vee…" She shape changed into her human form. "….And then I could be with them."
"I guess that plan could work." Amity said.
"Then, there's the worrying part, what if they find out I'm a basilisk that has been imitating a girl they like?" Vee asked her sister's girlfriend. "What if they don't love me for what I am? What if they just see me as a monster?"
Amity felt pretty sorry for her. She knew that this person appeared to mean so much to her and to know that she would have wanted them to lover her for who she is regardless of appearance.
"It's going to be okay, Vee." Amity assured her. "You'll figure out a way. Now, I suggest you get some sleep. It's an important day tomorrow." She got back into her bed while Vee slithered back into the top of her bunk bed, still nervous about what will happen tomorrow.
The next day, Masha stood outside the house with flowers in their hand. They were about to knock on the door until they heard the sound of someone running towards the house.
There was a trip and a thud so they turned around to check out what it was. And it turned out to be one of Luz's friends from yesterday. Specifically, the Taiwanese one.
"Oh gosh darn it!" Marcy exclaimed.
"You okay?" Masha asked.
"I somehow tied my laces from my separate pair of shoes together and ran all the way here." Marcy replied as she sorted out her laces. She picked up her journal and miscellaneous writing equipment before carrying them under her arm.
"Hey, aren't you one of Luz's friends?" Masha asked.
"Oh yeah." Marcy replied. "Marcy Wu." She offered them a handshake.
"Masha Bratton." Masha shook Marcy's hand. "I haven't seen you around Gravesfield."
"I just moved here." Marcy replied. "Me and Luz met in L.A a few weeks ago."
"Oh, how did you meet?" Masha pondered.
Marcy then flash backed to the L.A invasion, the Boiling Isles incident and the Day of Unity which made her sweat and chuckle nervously. "Let's just say it involved frogs, a box and Mason Pines."
"Mason Pines?!" Masha reacted with surprise.
"Yeah."
"Uh, his latest book sucked." Masha gagged.
"Trust me, you won't believe how many people tell him that." Marcy said as she knocked on the door.
Luz answered the door dressed in her yellow shirt, blue jacket and black leggings and had smooth hair. "Hey Marcy, hey Masha." Luz said.
"Oh hey Luz." Marcy then squinted her eyes. "Wait, this is Luz right?"
Luz chuckled. "Of course it is, why wouldn't it be?" She looked at Marcy so Masha wouldn't see her face and blinked her eyes sideways which gave Marcy the indication that this was Vee in disguise.
"Oh, of course it is!" Marcy responded. "Doi!"
"Are these for me?" 'Luz' asked.
"No, they're for Marcy." Masha replied sarcastically.
"Oh, cool, thanks." Marcy was about to take them before Masha just handed them to 'Luz', who took a whiff before taking a bite out of one of them.
This sight, instead of weirding them out, made them chuckle. "No breakfast?"
"Not really." 'Luz' replied before she looked at Marcy, whom began to make a head cutting gesture. This made 'Luz' aware that she wasn't meant to eat it and placed them in a nearby vase.
"So Luz…." Masha offered her their arm. "…Shall we?" 'Luz' blushed as she hooked her arm in their's and they began walking while Marcy watched. "So, how do you feel about a mall date?"
"What could go wrong there?" 'Luz' responded.
Marcy smiled at the sight while Darcy grinned sinisterly. "Can't wait for them to be horrified over what she is." Marcy however, just ignored them and entered the house before slamming it shut in Darcy's face. "Wait! Marcy! Let me in! Come on, girl! I was kidding!"
After Marcy locked the door, walked to the living room and saw Darcy on the couch, reading a book called 'Control your mind' and raised a brow. "Who was that, dear?" They asked mockingly.
"Just shut up." Marcy said as she sat next to them and opened her book about travelling multiverses.
"So, we're on our own now!" Darcy remarked. "Nice of the Nocedas to let you crash here to study. They're a little too trustworthy don't you think? So, broke in. How's about we start breaking some stuff?"
"Shut up?!" Marcy exclaimed. "Uh, why won't you stop?!"
"Because it's fun to see you snap." Darcy replied.
"This used to be traumatising, now this is just annoying." Marcy said.
"Oh, it will be traumatising." Darcy assured her. "Soon enough." Marcy went back to reading the book, fearing what this meant and how the Core will later traumatise them.
Meanwhile, in Camila's car, she had just stopped outside a small diner-like restaurant known as Whitman's so Amity and Luz could spend Valentines Day sharing a milkshake. Dairy free due to Luz having lactose intolerance.
"Okay girls, we're here." Camila declared.
"Thanks Mom." Luz said.
"Thanks Ms Noceda." Amity said.
"By the way Mija, is that really the best disguise you could go with?"
In the backseat, Luz, in an effort to not make Masha suspicious when they were with Vee, was wearing a moustache on her face while wearing a black hoodie and sunglasses. While Amity just hid her ears behind her hair to make no one suspicious.
"What?" Luz reacted as she tore the moustache off. "Worked with Hunter."
"Batata, that seemed too far." Amity said.
Luz and Amity got out of the car. "And remember girls, call me when you wish to be picked up. And please enjoy yourself! Luz, se tan cariñoso como quieras."
"Mom!" Luz exclaimed as she blushed in embarrassment.
"See you in a few hours!" Camila said before driving back home.
"Well?" Amity asked her girlfriend as she held her hand out.
"I'm ready for my first Valentines Day with a Valentine." Luz replied as she held Amity's hand and entered the diner
It wasn't just the exterior that had a very 1950's aesthetic, but the interior as well. There were those circular stools, a bar, some of the staff were wearing roller skates and there was an old timey milkshake machine.
They got seated by the window in seats apart from each other where they can stare at each other lovingly.
"Someone will be with you to take your order." The person said.
"Okay." Luz said.
Amity looked to the skates that were attached to his feet. "If you don't mind me asking, how did you lose your feet?" Amity asked.
The waiter with circular specs looked to Amity with confusion. "Uh….I have feet?"
Luz quickly came up with an excuse. "Sorry, my girlfriend is from out of town." Luz explained. "She's never seen roller skates."
The waiter skated away from the girlfriends. "Wow. Never heard of skates." He mumbled to himself.
For the first few moments, Luz and Amity were busy staring at each other lovingly without even saying a word.
If someone told Amity that she would fall for a human, then she probably would have laughed in their face. But somehow, this happened and Amity couldn't be any happier. But she did hate it when Luz is mainly putting everyone in front of herself.
While Luz still couldn't believe that she was dating who she thought was the most gorgeous person in the Boiling Isles. Besides finding the Demon Realm, this was probably the greatest thing that has ever happened to Luz. Having an amazing girlfriend. But when she thought of the Demon Realm and Eda and King, she began to feel saddened.
Amity noticed that her girlfriend was looking down and knew what it was. She decided to take her mind off of it.
She gave her girlfriend a small smile. "Is there anything about Valentines Day I should know about?"
"Well, usually Valentines Day would have couples giving each other cards, chocolates or a gift just to show how much you appreciate them." Luz replied.
Amity turned red in the face and began to panic. "I was supposed to get you a gift?! Oh Titan! Why wasn't I made aware of this?! I should have known I…"
"Amity! Amity!" Luz interjected with her hands to calm her girlfriend down. "I didn't get you a gift either. Gifts on Valentines Day are overrated. You being my girlfriend is the greatest gift I could ever receive."
Amity instantly calmed down and blushed at Luz. Her amazing girlfriend who knew the right words to say to her. "Thanks Luz. And you being my girlfriend is the best gift I could ever receive."
Luz turned red at Amity's loving comment and blew a raspberry. "Aww Amity, stop."
"I'm serious!" Amity said.
Luz fanned herself. "Okay! Okay! Anyway, does the Boiling Isles have an equivalent to Valentines Day?"
"Oh yeah. Except, the day is totally optional between couples." Amity replied. "Every year, some couples go out to the knee to perform a ritual where you become bind to their significant other, permanently. So if they intend to breakup with each other or flirt with anyone else, than their arm will burn an agonising pain that can't be cooled down."
Luz froze at this as she began thinking of doing that with her girlfriend which made her sweat. "Okay. I won't be doing that."
"Yeah. I know someone who chopped off their entire arm due to it." Amity said.
"Yeah….I think they would." Said a nervous Luz.
"Did you ever have people you wanted to have Valentines Day with before I came about?" Amity asked.
Luz chuckled. "Well, there was someone named Amy Leight. But she's in the past. Like, way far into the past."
Then, their waitress had arrived. "Luz?"
"Huh?" Luz looked up to see a girl with blonde hair and pink braids, looking annoyed. "Amy? You work here?!"
"You know I do, Luz." Amy replied. "You and your dork friends come here often. Too often if you ask me. And look at this, another dork." She leers at Amity who just leered back at her. "Nice hair, dork. Did you stick cotton candy to your head?"
"Says the one with probably fake blonde hair." Amity's retort made Amy angry.
"Fake?! Oh you do not diss me like that!" Amy exclaimed.
"Sweet potato….Let's not cause trouble." Luz suggested.
Amy looked at Luz in disgust. "Sweet potato? What is that a nickname? A nickname? No wait, a pet name?!" She laughed while Luz just gave her a blank stare at her immaturity. "I don't believe it! Luz Noceda, has a girlfriend! This is unbelievable!" She laughed harder. "You know, you can do a whole lot better than her. She's weird and always scaring people off. You know, she tried asking me out at one point so consider myself lucky that I'm avoiding this relationship."
While she spoke, the angry Amity made a small spell circle underneath the table to summon an Abomination that stuck to the sole of the waitress' shoe.
"I'll keep what you said in mind." Amity said.
"Okay, since I have to do my job, what would you like to order?" She asked as she pulled out her small notepad and pen.
"Well, me and my girlfriend would like to share a milkshake." Luz replied. "Dairy free."
"And if there's a hint of dairy in it, I'll know and you don't want to find out what will happen when I find out." Amity leered at Amy, who looked terrified by the girlfriend's death stare.
"Yup! No dairy!" She laughed nervously as she quickly wrote dairy-free in her notepad. "Your milkshake will be out in a short amount of time." She tried to walk towards the chef, but she couldn't move whatsoever. "Uh! Stupid customers!"
"You okay, Amy?" Luz asked.
"Yes, are you?" Amity asked with a hint of passive aggressiveness.
"I will, eventually get out of this!" Amy replied as she tried to lift her foot off the Abomination. "What kind of gum is this?!"
Then, Amity made a small spell circle underneath the table, causing the bit of goo to come off Amy's feet and for the waitress to land flat on her face.
Amity grinned at what she did before turning to her girlfriend, who looked angry with her. But then, she began laughing, genuinely laughing for the first time in two days after the Day of Unity.
Though Amity was happy about it, she also laughed at Amy's inconvenience. She felt somewhat gratified that this girl who disrespected her girlfriend got what was coming.
She stood up and walked to the chef in anger over her misfortune while many of the patrons and chefs laughed at her as well.
The two girlfriends soon stopped laughing and began to stare at each other lovingly once again. Luz reached her hand out across the table and Amity placed her hand on top of it.
"Luz, I'm so happy we're doing this." She said. "Thank you for not stressing about the whole portal thing."
"And I'm happy as well." Luz said. "Thanks for this."
Amity then stood up. "Excuse me. I have to go to the bathroom."
Once her girlfriend had gone to the lady's bathroom, Luz's smile turned into a serious expression and she pulled out her phone to do some portal research. She sighed in sadness and regret but with a hint of determination as well. "Sorry Amity, but this is more important."
Meanwhile at the Gravesfield mall, Masha and 'Luz' had entered the shopping mall to have their first date. The mall itself was very busy as there were many couples and random shoppers entering different stores together.
"So, what stores do you wish to visit?" Masha asked.
"Well….Are there any places you want to go?" 'Luz' asked.
Masha took 'Luz's' hand. "I know plenty of places."
"How about the firework store?" 'Luz' suggested.
"Nah, I'm banned from there." Masha replied. "I set off some fire crackers. Let's go!"
And so, a mall date montage commenced. In the last couple of hours, Masha and 'Luz' were in stores like Topic of Discussion: Hot! Where the two tried on some edgy shirts and laughed at such edgy titles like 'I'm on the edgy of sanity station.' And 'Death, despair and dark stuff.'
Then, the two were reading Sixty-nine Shades of White in the book store and laughing at its terrible dialogue.
At one point, Masha had gone down the escalators and when they got to the bottom, they looked up to see 'Luz' still there, trying to put her foot on one of the sharp stairs but pulling back.
She did however, luckily found some stairs that she ran down and caught up with her date.
Then, the two were sitting on the water fountain together. Masha pulled out a small coin and threw it in the water to make a wish.
'Luz' was about to do the same thing but accidentally tripped into the fountain and got herself wet. Masha and 'Luz' laughed at this before they joined her in the fountain, splashing about. Which only lasted for a few minutes because mall security soon arrived.
After cleaning themselves off of the chlorine and finding a spare pair of clothes that fit them, Masha and 'Luz' were now in the food court having some lunch.
The two were sharing a large pepperoni pizza together. The two were currently telling their respective stories about what's been going on.
"So, what did you do at LA?" Masha asked. "That must have been some over long vacation."
"Oh you know, explored the beautiful sights." 'Luz' replied, not wanting to tell them of the Frogvasion. "Went to a few beautiful beaches, met celebrities and all that junk."
"Really?" Masha asked. "Was there an invasion there at one point? I've been hearing some interesting rumours."
'Luz' blew a raspberry. "Nah! It was just some citywide gas leak that had everyone hallucinating."
"Yeah. I knew there was something off when people said that robot frogs were invading Earth." Masha remarked.
"So, what's been going on with our friends?" 'Luz' asked.
"So, Mary-Beth has been doing a nature hike while Lincoln recently brought a van." Masha said. "Though he does have to lie about his age sometimes since ya know, still 15."
"What about you?" 'Luz' asked. "What's been going on with you?"
"I heard a rumour my cousin could be coming to visit for a while." Masha replied. "It's for some kind of undercover job I think. So, he could be anywhere. And I could be getting job soon. You know that creepy and insane guy who runs the historical society, Jacob?"
At the mention of Jacob, 'Luz' began to shiver as she remembered almost being dissected by Jacob and his insane smile. "Y…Yeah."
Masha noticed their date's nervous expression and gave her a gentle smile. "Hey, it's okay. If he screws up one more time, he'll lose his job forever. You might not have to worry about him anymore."
'Luz' wiped some sweat away from her head. "I should hope so."
"I hope to get the job." Masha said. "I need some money to get some cards as well as to get my parents off my back telling me to get a job instead of spending time creeping people out."
"You don't creep me out." 'Luz' assured them. "I mean, yeah, you make people a little….Freaked out, but I don't think you're at all creepy."
"Oh believe me, I can be creepy." Masha then folded their eyelids and began poking them. "Beep! Boop!"
"Oh! Gross!" 'Luz' covered her eyes with her hands as Masha continued to their thing.
"Open your eyes, Luz!" Masha continued to poke their folded eyelids, causing everyone around them some discomfort while 'Luz' just laughed loudly.
But unbeknownst to them, someone in a dark hoody and shiny glasses was watching them with their binoculars far away from them. This person wanted then looked at 'Luz' whom he knew was actually Vee in disguise.
They had to cause a distraction in order to get to them. Luckily, they found the firework store.
Back at the Noceda house, Marcy was sitting on the couch watching a video on travelling dimensions from a conspiracy theorist.
She had been here at the Noceda residence for the last two hours, studying every last ways to open a portal to multiple dimensions. Well, Camila was here but she needed to get to the clinic to deal with a patient.
The ranger of Newtopia did have lunch which happened to be a sandwich that she made without trashing the kitchen, somehow.
She was now watching a video on MewTube watching a video on portals by a conspiracy theorist known only as Patrick Matthew.
"In order to get a portal! You need, hamster wheels! A lot of hamster wheels! Hamster wheels! HAMSTER WHEELS!" The crazy man cried to the camera person.
Marcy closed her laptop and sighed with disappointment. "Nope. This is just a lost cause."
"You're telling me." Marcy screamed as Darcy suddenly appeared, causing her to drop her laptop. "Oops! Sorry! That's 450 more dollars gone from your parents bank deposit."
"Uh! Okay, what is it with these hallucinations?!" Marcy exclaimed. "You have been bothering me for two days! What is your deal?!"
"Oh, you haven't figured it out!" Darcy laughed as Marcy picked up her broken laptop and placed it on the coffee table. "I guess I picked the wrong person to possess. Maybe you aren't so smart after all."
"It's clear what's going on." Marcy replied. "It's the trauma of being possessed. I just need to accept that this has happened."
"Uh…..No." Darcy replied. "You're wrong."
Marcy looked at Darcy in fear, scared of what it could mean. "What?"
"You didn't think I had a backup plan in case you were free?" Darcy laughed. "Well, I had two backup plans. One had me uploading my conscious into a robot and the other one, I implanted a little bit of me in your brain hence why you're hallucinating!" Marcy stared at Darcy in horror over this. The hairs all over her body began to rise, her legs went limp and she began panting in terror and realisation. "And I'm implanted in your brain so one day, I can take control of you! Forever!"
Marcy fell off the couch and scurried backwards to the wall as she panted in terror and fear. "No! No!" Tears began to fall from her eyes. "No! No! No! I don't want you take control of me!"
"Well, no one wants to die, but that is always an inevitable fate for every creature." Darcy retorted. "So, accept this fate. Let me put my hands on the steering wheel."
"No!" Marcy stood up. "Because everyone is going to find out!" She was about to call Anne on her phone but stopped when she heard Darcy chuckle.
"Ohhh, this is going to be good." Darcy remarked. "Listen Marcy, I don't want anyone to know about me controlling you."
"Nice try!" Marcy began dialling her best friend's phone number but suddenly felt her thumb stopped, like someone else was in control. Then suddenly, she threw her phone against the wall, shattering it into pieces. "What?!" Marcy was now scared.
Then, Darcy laughed. "Don't you get it now?! I'm in control of you! Watch!" Marcy then punched herself in the face, then punched her ankle and then poked herself in the eye.
"Ow! Okay, you made your point!" Marcy said. "But I'm still telling everyone!"
"Wait! I haven't gotten to the best part!" Darcy laughed again. "Have you ever wondered who told Belos of the plan?"
"No. I think that's a plot point that will never be resolved." Marcy replied.
"It was me." Marcy froze and turned her eyes at Darcy with shock and horror. "Or to be more precise, I told him while I controlled your insignificant body."
"What?! What?!" Marcy was in disbelief. "No! No! No! You used my body to tell Belos?!"
"Yes! It explains why he saved you." Darcy said. "He owed you!" Marcy was now panting in terror and fear. She had betrayed everyone. Though not at her own fruition, it was still her body, it was still her voice. "You can tell your friends."
Then, another Darcy appeared from under the coffee table. "Oh! But you don't want to."
Then, another appeared behind Marcy. "Because they're the only friends you have here."
Then another appeared from the corner of the entrance to the living room. "Because if you lost them, you'll be lonely!"
Then another popped up in front of her. "And no one will love you."
"STOP!" Marcy screamed as loud as she could. She began panting for breath due to all the fear, anxiety and hatred for herself coursing through her veins.
She bit her lips and wrapped her arms around herself as tears fell from her eyes. She felt a hand on her shoulder and opened her eyes to see Camila.
"Marcy? Are you okay?" The mother to her new friend, asked with concerned.
"I…I….I…I…I…I…I…I…I…I…I…" Marcy shoved her hand off her shoulder and got up before running out of the house.
Camila tried to follow Marcy but stopped, fearing that she might be intruding on the space she needs. Luz and Sasha had told her about everything that had happened to Marcy so she knew what was going on with her.
"Oh, esa pobre chica." (That poor girl.)
The veterinarian pulled out her phone and walked inside the house to contact Marcy's parents to let them know what was going on with their daughter.
Back at the mall, Masha and 'Luz' were now walking in a clothing store looking at clothes they can't afford. They found an expensive looking dress that Masha thought 'Luz' would look good in.
While 'Luz' was blushing at a suit and tie would definitely be a handsome fit for Masha.
They looked at their date and gave her a shoulder nudge. "Thinking of me in that suit and tie?"
"Huh?"
"The suit." Masha replied. "Do you think I'd look handsome in it?"
'Luz' blushed. "Of course you would! I mean, you'd look handsome in anything."
"Even in a potato sack?" Masha asked.
'Luz' laughed. "Well, whatever works for you, works for me."
Masha laughed before pulling out some cards. "Hey, want to pick a card?"
'Luz' turned to them and took a card. The card appeared to have what appeared to be two lovers. The one on the left was like a fire while the one on the right was that of a handsome man and the person behind him was a water-like being.
"Ah, this one indicates something powerful." Masha cleared their throat. "The one on the right is someone who loves the one on the left. He probably thinks they're cool and loves them for who they are. But the water reflection is the real them, the one that wants to be with the fire even though they have doubts it will work out because they're afraid that if they take one look of him, than they will be horrified for the rest of their life and never love them again!" 'Luz' was sweating. This was accurate to the current situation 'Luz' was feeling right now with Masha. She didn't want them to figure out who she actually was because she was scared of how they'll react.
"That's….Tragic." 'Luz' sadly remarked.
Masha could tell there was something wrong with their date and gave them a gentle look. "Hey, what's wrong, Luz?"
"Nothing." 'Luz' lied. "I'm perfectly fine! Perfectly normal! Perfectly Luz!" She laughed nervously. "Look over there! A tie that might suit you!"
She was about to go, but Masha took 'Luz's' wrist before they could disappear. "Luz, I can read people, I know there's something wrong. What's the matter?" 'Luz' looked nervous about them finding the truth. She couldn't bare to face their horrified expression. But then, the way they gently caressed their wrist kind of calmed her down. "Luz, whatever's bothering you, whether it's something to do with me or you, I won't be mad. I will listen and do my best to understand the situation. Okay?"
'Luz' briefly smiled before getting serious. "Masha, do you like me?"
Masha laughed. "Of course I do."
"Would you like me if you found out something about me that others would find shocking?" 'Luz' asked.
Masha's eyes went wide. "You committed murder?!"
"No!" 'Luz' assured them. She sighed sadly and took a deep breath. "Masha, I am not Luz. I am…" But before she could finish what she was saying, the sound of banging was heard, causing everyone to panic.
"Gunfire!" Someone cried before them and other residents began running out of the store.
"Evacuate the mall!" A voice on the speaker cried. "Evacuate the mall in a calm and sensible manner." Everyone was evacuating the mall in distress and fear, as well as the Valentines Day couple.
Masha held 'Luz's' hand as they ran out of the mall together. "What's going on?!"
"I don't know!" Masha replied. "But keep close to me, okay?!"
They made it out of the mall along with a crowd of people. Masha saw a bird fountain and dunked their face in it to try and cool themselves off. They shot their face out of the fountain and shivered.
"Wow! That's cold!" They exclaimed. "Luz! Are you here?" They looked around the area and found out that their date wasn't beside them. They looked around the area to see any sign of her but couldn't find her anywhere. "Luz?!"
"Help!" Cried a familiar scream.
Masha traced the scream that belonged to 'Luz' through the large crowd of people. They couldn't see her like this, so they got on top of the bench where they saw something horrifying.
It was a man dressed in what appeared to be skiing gear shoving 'Luz' into a van. "Let me go!" 'Luz' demanded as they were shoved into the white van.
"Luz!" Masha cried out to try and get their date's attention, but it was fruitless because they knew they couldn't get there in time, no matter how fast they tried shoving their way through the crowd. They could only watch as the van drove away.
Inside the van, 'Luz' in a terrified and panic state changed back to Vee as she struggled to get out the ropes tied behind her wrists and tail.
"Well, we meet again." The driver took off their mask to reveal themselves as Jacob Hopkins.
"No! No!" Vee cried in terror and fear. Even though a lot of people in Gravesfield don't fear this man due to him being absolutely deranged and crazy, she did due to all the trauma he caused. First in Gravesfield, then in LA. "Not you!"
"Yes me, Basilisk!" Jacob replied. "I think you know full well what will happen next!"
"Jacob, please!" Vee pleaded. "I know people from the government, they'll tell you all the secrets of Mars!"
Jacob laughed. "Nice try, I'm not falling for that! Whatever you might say will never get me to free you! Even if you try and come up with a halfhearted explanation for the stab wound in my chest! I have no idea how that got there!" He turned to face Vee. "This is it, Basilisk! No one will come for you! Not even your mother, that witch and that girl with swords!" He laughed sinisterly before he realised that he wasn't paying attention to the road. He quickly got his hands back on the wheel where he avoided an incoming car. "Oops. Almost crashed. Could you imagine if I did?"
Vee shivered in terror and fear. She was scared that her friends and family might not come for her and she might be a stuffed animal on Jacob's display.
Back at Whitman's, Luz and Amity were sharing what was their third dairy free milkshake, much to the annoyance of the single Amy who still couldn't believe that the weirdest person in Gravesfield had a very attractive girlfriend.
"Uh, please break up." Amy pleaded.
Then all of a sudden, Luz suddenly stopped drinking her milkshake and grabbed her head. "Ah! Brain freeze!"
Amity quickly stopped drinking hers and began panicking. "Brain freeze?!"
Luz laughed. "It's okay, Amity! I'm fine!"
"Brain freeze is no laughing matter!" Amity exclaimed as she got off her chair and began blowing in Luz's ear, causing the human witch to laugh.
"W-what are you doing?" Luz asked.
"We have to warm your brain!" Amity replied as she continued to blow in her girlfriend's ear. "Or otherwise your brain will become frozen and in turn, you'll freeze as well!"
Amy was seeing this sight with a shocked expression over this weirdness. "I take it back, Luz's girlfriend is the weirdest person in Gravesfield."
Luz laughed at her girlfriend misunderstanding the term, brain freeze. "Amity!" She managed to get Amity to stop panicking. "Brain freeze means something very different. It's just….a limited headache people get when they consume something really fast."
Amity turned red, feeling embarrassed for her public reaction to her girlfriend's brain freeze and sighed. "I'm so sorry, Luz." Amity groaned.
"No Amity, it's fine." Luz assured her as she hooked her arm in her's and kissed her head. "Though, I am a little cautious of Boiling Isles brain freeze." Her smile quickly vanished before she put it back on just for Amity's sake. "I'm glad you talked to me into doing Valentines Day for me." She and Amity began to share a hug with each other.
While in the hug, Luz was on her phone looking up travelling to alternative dimensions. "Yeah. Today has been awesome despite everything going on." Amity pulled herself out of the hug and Luz quickly put her phone in her pocket without her girlfriend knowing. "Thank you, Luz." She and Luz shared a kiss with each other while Amy looked away in disgust.
"Can they break up, please?" Amy pleaded.
The girlfriends detached their lips from one another and Amity stood up. "Excuse me. I need the bathroom."
"Don't destroy the hand dryer again." Luz and Amity shared a laugh before stopping. "But seriously. My mom isn't made of money."
"Okay." Amity said before getting off her chair to get to the bathroom.
Once her girlfriend was out of sight, Luz went back on her phone to study portals. She knew this would cause her stress but she couldn't stop thinking of the portal work.
Then, she heard the sound of the door opening and familiar panting. She looked over her seat and saw Marcy.
Amy walked over with her little notepad, ready to take her order. "Hi, welcome to-"
"Milkshake! Dairy milkshake!" Marcy exclaimed. "Milkshake!"
Amy froze in shock before writing Marcy's order down. "Okay! Okay!" She walked away to take the order to the chef.
Marcy ran to Luz's seat, still panting in terror, causing concern for Luz. "Marcy? Are you okay?"
Marcy took a few deep breaths and chortled. "Sorry, I was a bit thirsty. So I ran to here to get a milkshake."
"We have plenty of soda at home." Luz responded.
"Well…." Marcy looked over Luz's shoulder and saw Darcy in the reflection of the window, waving at her. She froze in terror before chuckling. "….I felt like running."
"Okay." Luz looked over Marcy's shoulder. "Okay, what have you found out?"
Marcy opened up her phone. "According to sources there was a portal somewhere in Oregon back in late August 2012 according to Earth satellites but that's not much to go on. I sent an email to Dipper to investigate and he said he already did and it was a nightmare demon who came here voluntarily."
"So, it didn't have technology?" Luz asked. "¡Maldito! We could have had something! Anything else?"
"Just conspiracy theories." Marcy replied. "How about you?"
"I went on Pickapedia to find portal research but someone edited it to replace every word with 'not real.' Luz replied.
"Seriously Luz, is it a good idea to do this behind your girlfriend's back?" Marcy asked. "It seems like an idea that could go wrong."
"I gotta do it." Luz said. "It's my fault everyone got here and I'm gonna get them back!"
"Yeah! Could you imagine if she found out?" Marcy asked.
"She is upset!" Said a voice that made Luz freeze.
"Yeah. But wrong grammar." Marcy said. "It's she will be upset." Then Marcy turned around and froze when she saw Amity. "Oh, hey Amity!"
"Uh oh!" Darcy said as their head popped from under the table.
Luz got out of her seat to talk to her girlfriend and explain herself. "Amity, I had to!"
"Luz, is this what you've been doing behind my back?" Amity asked.
Luz began to sweat in panic and fear since she was now caught. "Amity…I know you're upset."
Amity didn't say anything, she instead walked out of the diner, upset over her girlfriend's actions. Amy on the other hand was smiling.
She looked up at the ceiling. "Thank you."
"Amity!" Luz began to chase her girlfriend in an effort to talk about her actions.
Outside, Masha was running trying to find 'Luz'. They had been running for the last 15 minutes to rescue someone who could be their future girlfriend. They were scared what Jacob was gonna do. They knew that Jacob was insane but they didn't think he was this insane.
They eventually realised that they had their phone in their pocket and dialled 9-1-1. "9-11, how may we assist?"
"My girlfriend has been captured!" Masha cried.
"Could you describe the kidnapping in great detail?"
"Okay, my girlfriend is called Luz Noceda. She's 14, Dominican-American and….Standing across the street talking to someone else!" They stopped and saw from across the street, Luz talking to one of her new friends outside Whitmans. Specifically, the pale one with purple hair.
"Uh…..Was this a prank call?"
"No, just a false alarm, sorry for wasting your time." Masha said with a hint of anger in their voice. They hung up and began to march towards Luz.
Across the street, outside of Whitmans, Luz was pleading with Amity. "Amity, I know you're upset."
Amity looked saddened at what her girlfriend did and sighed. "Luz, do you really need to do this? Or do you just feel guilty for not controlling fate? Because I have one question for you. Luz…"
"Why are you talking to her?!" Masha interjected as they shoved their way passed Amity and pointed an angry finger at her. "You got a lot of nerve!"
Luz however, looked confused. "Uh…What? Masha? What is this?"
"What is this?!" Masha exclaimed angrily. "Have you been seeing her?! Is she your girlfriend?!"
"Masha, what are you talking about?" Luz asked just as Marcy walked out of the diner.
"Hey Luz, I payed for your milkshakes." Marcy said. "By the way, why is Masha here?"
Masha gritted their teeth in anger. "What is going on?! I saw you get captured!"
Luz froze in fear along with Amity and Marcy. "Captured?!"
"Yes! Captured!" Masha responded.
Luz's confusion turned to determination as she had figured out who had captured Vee. "Hopkins." And like that, Luz began running towards the Historical Society along with Amity and Marcy.
Masha stayed back for a moment in confusion before following them. "I'm gonna get my answers, Noceda!"
During the run, Luz had pulled her phone out and began to call her mom. "Mom! Jacob's got her again! I'd go into great detail, but we need to get to the Historical Society and fast!" Luz hung and continued running.
"Okay, do we have a plan for this?" Marcy asked.
"Simple, we get in and get out and I try and fix things with my girlfriend." Luz replied.
"Sounds like a plan!" Amity responded.
But they were stopped when Masha ran in front of them. "Wait! Wait! What's going on?! What do you mean she was captured?! And how do you know it to be Hopkins?! But more importantly, what's going on?!"
Luz, Amity and Marcy have each other some glances. They knew that they deserved to know so Luz sighed. "Masha, there's something you need to know. The Luz you have known was not me."
And so, on the long run to the Historical Society, Luz had managed to explain everything about the Demon Realm and who the Luz Masha had known was actually a basilisk. She also told them of what had happened in the Demon Realm and Amphibia with Marcy helping along with the commentary.
And in the span of 8 minutes that was done in rapid succession even after Camila picked them up and talking really fast which Masha managed to pick every word of.
Once they arrived at the Historical Society, everyone was outside the front door ready to think of a plan.
Masha on the other hand was trying to take everything in. "Wow, holy goddess! That is a lot of information to gain in the span of 8 minutes." They remarked.
"I know!" Marcy agreed. "I didn't think we'd do it! But we did!"
"Okay, what's the plan Mija?" Camila asked as she pulled out La Chancla.
"I'm well ready." Marcy said as she readied her wrist crossbow, something that made everyone surprised.
"You brought that along?" Amity asked.
"Don't know when you're gonna need it." The crossbow accidentally went off, causing it to hit the tyre of a van. As it deflated, Marcy laughed nervously. "At least it's Jacob's."
"My plan is, we go in now!" Luz kicked the door open with her fists up. "Alright Jacob, what we're about to do should be relatively painless if you do as we say."
"¡Si no me devuelves a mi hija, te clavaré el puño en el estómago y te romperé la columna!"
Luz seemed surprised. "Woah, mama! That is threatening!"
Amity formed an Abomination fist and punched through the door of the office where Jacob held Vee the last time but when they entered, they saw that there was no one there, not even a cage.
"Wait, where is he?" Camila asked. "He was here the last time."
"Let's look around, he must have left a clue." Luz said.
And so, the group began to look around the room to find clues as to where Jacob and Vee are. "Do you think they're at a different location?" Marcy asked as she picked up Jacob's crossbow.
"That van you deflated outside was Jacob's." Masha said as they lowered Marcy's crossbow. "He's still here alright."
She opened a drawer and found a sword. "Wow, you gotta admit for a crazy person, he has cool stuff."
"He always gets them at conventions." Masha said. "I don't know where he gets money for it."
On the other side of the room, Luz, Amity and Camila were looking at a bunch of monitors on the wall. They turned it on and saw footage of Luz, Amity, Marcy and Vee in the shack. Specifically, from yesterday.
"Titan! He's been watching us." Amity said.
"That's how he knew where Vee was going to be." Luz said.
"I think he was gonna come after me next." Amity theorised.
Camila gripped on La Chancla angrily. "They want to hurt my daughter and my daughter's girlfriend?! Oooh, this time it's even more serious." She gripped to La Chancla angry before moving towards a bookcase and pulling out a book about how flat the Earth is.
Luz and Amity continued to go through the footage to find one of Jacob and Vee but they couldn't find any whatsoever.
"Uh!" Luz groaned. "I don't believe it! Where's the footage?!"
"Well, he wouldn't put cameras in the historical society." Amity said. "Either he didn't think of doing that or it was a smart move on his part. But we have to erase this footage before anyone finds it."
Luz noticed a steaming hot cup of coffee on the side and knocked it over. "Oops." The hot liquid on the monitor caused it to fizzle up before shutting down completely.
Then, a VHS tape popped out of the VCR which Luz took out while Amity formed an Abomination bat. "Luz, I'm open!"
Luz threw the tape at her girlfriend that she hit with her bat, causing it to shatter into pieces. "Ha! That would have been a home run for sure!"
"Thanks." Amity flipped her hair, causing Luz to blush before sighing.
"Amity, I know you're still mad…."
Amity gave her girlfriend a sympathetic look and approached her. "Luz, I know you blame yourself for not being there and going to Amphibia only because you felt the need to help. But, I have one thing to ask; I chose to help Amphibia as well, is it my fault that we couldn't be there on time?"
Luz quickly began to panic. "No! No! No! No! No! Amity, it's not like that at all I…."
"It should be my fault as well." Amity said. "Because I chose to help Amphibia without knowing what was going on at home. Look Luz, we couldn't have known what was about to happen, you have to stop feeling guilty for actions that weren't yours. It was Belos, not you. I want to get home as well, but I don't know how long it will take but I want to spend any time we have in this world, with you. My amazing and brave and beautiful girlfriend."
Luz smiled at her girlfriend's words. "I guess you're right. But there are other things besides the portal. You and my Palisman egg. I guess I screwed up Valentines Day huh?"
"You did, but there's still plenty of time." Amity replied.
The two began to stare at each other lovingly while Masha watched on with a smile. In that moment they knew that Luz was perfectly happy was with this girl and would be happy to let them be together. Plus, they realised something about the Luz they met that they intend to tell her once they were done.
Then, Luz's phone began ringing and she sighed. "Hang on, I gotta take this." As Luz walked out of the office, she thought about what Amity said. In a way, she was right, it wasn't her fault but Luz knew that her girlfriend wasn't to blame, she was.
Luz decided to hold most of the portal stuff off just to be with Amity and her newfound friends but that didn't mean she would stop.
Back in the office, Amity was investigating a bookshelf while Marcy was playing around with a Mace that Camila and Masha tried to get her to put down.
The witch pulled one of the books from the shelf and the bookshelf moved aside revealing a secret hatch. She smiled at what she did. "Hey Luz! I found something!"
Then, Amity suddenly got grabbed by someone and pulled into the dark entrance and screamed. "Amity!" Marcy, Camila and Masha cried.
"I'm coming sweet potato!" Luz yelled as she ran back into the office. "Where is she?!"
"Into the bookcase!" Marcy replied before the group ran into the dark room to rescue not only Amity but possibly Vee.
They ran down a spiral staircase as fast as they could. The deeper they went down the stairs, the more a light starts to come into view.
Then at one point, Marcy tripped on one of the steps and fell on top of Masha, causing them to fall on to Luz who fell on her mother. The four tumbled down the spiral staircase and managed to get to the bottom.
At the bottom was a bookshelf, a singular computer on a table and what appeared to be an operating table and bulletin board dedicated to animals that were killed.
"Ow." Marcy said. "Sorry everyone!"
"Uhhhhh!" Everyone groaned.
The four stood up where they saw Vee stuck in a cage, gagged and tied. "Mija!" Camila exclaimed.
"Don't worry Vee, we're coming to save you!" Luz assured her sister.
Masha on the other hand, was looking at Vee with a sparkle in their eye. "Oh wow."
Vee was making muffling noises and motioned her head to a dark corner where Jacob walked out. The mad conspiracy theorist was holding Amity on the shoulder while keeping a dagger on her neck.
"Don't move, or this witch gets it!" Jacob demanded.
"Let her go, Jacob!" Luz demanded.
"So, we meet at last human whose form this Basilisk stole." Jacob remarked. "Can't you see I'm doing you a favour?"
"By what?" Luz asked. "Kidnapping my sister and my girlfriend?!"
"Gross! You're dating the basilisk?!" Jacob exclaimed.
Amity's fear vanished and she went dead in the face. "Wow! Really?"
"Actually, it's the one you're holding hostage." Luz said.
"You're dating a witch?!" Jacob laughed. "Okay witch, what brainwashing powers did you use?"
"I didn't!" Amity protested. "We just fell in love!"
"Balderdash!" Jacob placed the dagger on her neck harder.
"Let her go!" Marcy demanded as she aimed her crossbow. "I won't hesitate to shoot."
"No, you won't." Darcy said. "Or more, I won't."
Due to Darcy's words and not wanting to go to jail for murder, Marcy lowered her crossbow. "Okay. I changed my mind."
Camila narrowed her eyes at Jacob. "Why won't you leave us alone?! She is doing nothing?!"
"Then how can you explain everything?!" Jacob argued. "The stab mark on my chest?! Animals all over Gravesfield being slaughtered! And my favourite pizza place being closed down?! How can you explain all that?"
"Wait, you wish to kill my Valentines Day date all because of a pizza store closing down?" Masha asked with a raised eyebrow.
"Alright, since you want them to be free, I'll give you a choice." Jacob said. "If you want me to free the Basilisk then I'll take your girlfriend. But if you want your girlfriend then I'll keep the Basilisk to dissect."
The four narrowed their eyes at Jacob while Amity just looked blanked face while Vee looked more terrified than she did the first time.
"You think I am mad enough to choose between my daughter and my daughter's girlfriend?!" Camila asked. "You're mad!"
"Mom, you might not be mad, but I made a mistake this Valentines Day that I wish to make up, so I choose Amity." Luz's decision made Camila, Marcy and Masha gasp while Vee screamed.
"Oh! You traitor!" Masha exclaimed.
"No, she chose love over family!" Marcy yelled. "How dare you!"
"Mija!" Camila chided. "What are you thinking?!"
"I made up my decision." Luz said. "Let her go, Jacob."
Jacob threw away his dagger. "I'm a man of my word." He shoved Amity to her girlfriend, who managed to catch her.
"You okay?" Luz asked.
"Yeah, I'm fine." Amity said. "But he won't be."
"Oh, I will." Jacob retorted before he turned to Vee. "Now, where were we?" He was about to move but then felt that there was something on his shoe. He tried to move his foot leading everyone but Luz and Amity to be confused.
But, Jacob wasn't moving because there was a bit of Abomination on the sole of his shoe, causing him to not move. Then, he pulled his foot so hard that freed himself but crashed into Vee's cage, causing it to shatter.
"Mom!" Vee slithered to Camila, who held her arms out.
"¡Oh, mi dulce bebé! ¿Estás herido?"
"Wait, is that why you chose Amity over me?" Vee asked Luz.
"Oh, so Amity could have control of the Abomination on Jacob's shoe?" Marcy remarked. "Clever."
Camila freed herself from Vee's hug and pulled out La Chancla. "Now you five, stay back because this mama's ready to whoop some conspiracy theorist a…"
"Actually, Masha's already doing it." Marcy said.
They saw as Masha was beating Jacob with their shoe. "How dare you kidnap my date and try to dissect them! What kind of monster does this?! Oh wait, it's you!"
Jacob struggled to get up but Masha continued to beat them up while everyone watched on with very impressed faces.
"Huh. I can see why you like them." Amity remarked to Vee.
"Yup." Vee responded as she blushed at how stunning they looked beating that man to a pulp.
A few minutes later, everyone were standing by the reception area of the Historical Society after tying Jacob up in his office and putting him back in his cage.
The six were having a nice cold drink of water to calm down their nerves after that stressful experience. "Wow, some Valentines Day this turned out to be." Masha remarked.
"Yeah." Amity agreed.
"Hey Amity, I'm still sorry…"
"Save your apology, Noceda." Amity interjected. "You can make up for your mistake."
"By how?" Luz asked.
Amity grinned. "Just by being there."
Luz grinned and turned away from Amity to hide that she was blushing. "Awwww! Amity!"
"It's true, though." Amity said. "Even if you make a stupid mistake, you still are my girlfriend. And I couldn't be any happier."
Luz turned to Amity and smiled. "And I feel the same way about you, Amity Blight." The two shared a quick kiss that Camila just smiled lovingly at.
"Awww." She then looked to Marcy, whom was admiring what appeared to be an oversized feather hat on display.
"Wow!"
"Yes, it looks like the feather was plucked from a bird." Darcy remarked. "Like how I'm gonna pluck every nerve in your body and take control."
Marcy sighed sadly just as Camila approached her. "Marcy, are you okay?"
"Yeah, I'm fine." Marcy assured the woman. "Don't you worry about me! I'm perfectly fine! Just, ya know, still haven't got used to a few things from my experiences in Amphibia."
Camila gave Marcy a concerned look. "I thought you might. I contacted your parents about this and they said that you were going to talk to a therapist with no protests."
Marcy sighed. "Yeah, that might help."
Masha sat down next to Vee, whom was still drinking her water. "Water good?"
"Bit bland, but it helps my nerves." Vee replied as she drank another gulp. She looked to her date with guilt on her face. She still felt bad about lying who they were to them for months. "Hey, I'm sorry."
"Hey, I understand why you did it." Masha assured her. "Your sister made it clear in the span of 8 minutes. It's quite impressive."
"Yeah. It's impressive I made you fall for a hideous monster like me." Vee remarked.
"Hideous?!" Masha exclaimed in shock. "No, I don't think you're hideous. I think….You're kind of adorable."
Vee blushed in surprise over what Masha said and saw that they were blushing back at her. But then her face turned back into guilt.
"I'm sorry that I tricked you into falling for Luz." Vee said. "You two would have been great together."
Masha just grinned. "Nah! I didn't fall for Luz. To be honest, I don't think she's my type. I fell in love with an adorable and beautiful creature who values everyone who loves her."
Vee looked at Masha in surprise before feeling someone take her hand. She was surprised that this human that she had been crushing on turned out to harbour some feelings for her as well.
"You know, Valentines Day isn't over." Masha said. "You wanna go on a date as Vee Noceda, not Luz?"
Vee smiled at this person who was now her new partner. "Yeah, I'd like that." She shape changed into her human disguise, something that surprised them.
"Oh! That's who you are?!" Masha remarked. "That disguise is absolutely adorable."
The two stood up and walked out of the historical society, ready to spend the rest of Valentines Day as a new couple.
Luz, Amity, Camila and Marcy just watched on, happy for Vee and Masha. Camila wiped away a few tears from her eyes. "My babies are in love!"
"Is no one weirded out about a demonic snake creature dating a human?" Marcy asked.
"Nope." Amity said.
"Not at all." Camila replied.
"Don't question it, just gush at how adorable they are!" Luz replied.
A while later, the FBI agent known as K had arrived in the office of the historical society and saw Jacob in a cage. He looked at it with intrigue before moving to the entrance to the secret room.
He walked down the spiral staircase as he sucked on a lollipop before he tossed it away and injected in some insulin in his stomach.
When K got to the bottom he saw some purple sludge on the floor. He picked it up and rubbed it in-between his finger and thumb. "Hmmm, intriguing." He remarked.
Then, he walked towards the computer and turned it on. He saw that it needed a password so he pulled out a device and placed it on the computer. The device typed in the password, causing it to activate.
The screen turned on to reveal security footage of Vee and Masha sitting by the water fountain holding hands with each other.
K looked at the screen in surprise before it vanished and turned back to intrigue as he began staring at Vee. "Huh, this is intriguing. What are you? Regardless of what you are, I have myself a lead." He began to stroke the footage of Masha as he grinned sinisterly.
