To The End
Chapter 46
And I damn sure never would've danced with the devil
And now that I'm grown, I'm scared of ghosts
Memories feel like weapons
And now that I know, I wish you'd left me wondering.
17 weeks. I wasn't sure who was looking forward to feeling you more me or you're dad.
You're big brother Bailey has a wall decorated with pictures in you're nursery.
You're dad reads you bedtime stories. I read you parts of my magazine.
I was leaving my store. As i did most days during my lunch break.
I didn't see it or hear it. I just remember being hit.
As i fell. I did what i could to protect my belly.
Before it went dark. I thought about you.
You're dad. You're brother. Someone finding us like this.
I apologized to you before my eyes closed.
...
When Victoria and Ted arrived at my office. From the looks on their faces. I knew something was wrong.
"It's Brooke. She was hit by a car leaving her store." Victoria announced.
"The hospital called. You already but you've been busy." Ted added in.
"I need to go see her." Lucas replied.
Feeling his heart sink and knees buckle as he left to go to the parking lot.
