The Carousel Murders
Chapter Four
Special Agent Timothy McGee never had thought that he was going to be involved in another serial murder investigation. The last one was three months ago with the deaths of three women in Washington, D.C.
However, this time he was heading for Coney Island, New York. Deliah, his wife had woken him from a sound sleep after spending time in the game room with his twins.
Grumpy, and still tired after taking a short, hot shower. McGee had to meet the team at the Washington, D.C. airport with Dr. Jack Sloane now back working at NCIS after a few years away. McGee will have Special Agent Alden Parker and two others.
He checked his equipment as Deliah had packed his clothing for the trip. "Deliah, where are my black shoes?" he asked taking care of his jacket and tie for the ride to the airport.
Deliah wearing her blue nightgown and robe along with the same colored slippers. She will tell him the following by telling him that his black shoes were already in his black bag.
"Oh, thanks" he cried checking the last of his things that needed to be taken on the trip.
"You're welcome, Tim. Just be sure that you're able to catch the serial killer with no more Naval servicemen to be murdered," she advised with a slight yawn needing to check on the twins having a full day of activities.
Moments later after kissing his wife goodbye for the trip. Special Agent Timothy McGee had been on his way to the airport.
Spotting Mcgee with his black bag a frown edged on his features. She knew that he wasn't looking all this pleased with leaving Deliah and his twins.
Special Agent Alden Parker had been reading the updated notes from Director Leon Vance on the Naval officer found dead under the Coney Island amusement carousel.
With a shake of his head. Jessica Knight as well as a special agent had been on the lookout for McGee. Doctor Sloane taking the place of their coroner on his way back from vacation in Colebrook, Maine with his daughter and friends.
She was able to spot Timothy McGee hustling his way into the terminal. She had to place her report on the body found under the carousel since she was reported by Leon Vance.
She came up to him to say the following to him. "Are you alright, Tim?" she says after only being back at NCIS for the past few weeks.
Tim looks up to talk to Gibbs's old friend even though their relationship hasn't gone anywhere over the years.
"Just tired Dr. Sloane. I just don't understand why the local New York NCIS didn't take over the case?" he cried out with a deep breath placing his black bag on the cement floor.
She shook her head briefly to tell him her answer.
"I just really don't know Tim. But I understand that Leon has his hands full with this one along with Leroy Gibbs to be arriving back into Washington, D.C." She exhaled for the moment.
Turning to face the woman. "I have heard rumors that Gibbs was itching to come back to Washington, D.C. for a little while. I have no idea whether he wants to come back to work for NCIS?" he advised the doctor with the information.
"I heard the same Tim via e-mails from Gibbs trying to decide during the past four months," she said trying to be calm for the moment. "Come on let's get moving already, Tim." she helped with grabbing his black bag to be handed to him with a grumble.
Lauren's Bar & Grill
It was time for the owner of the bar & grill to be closing up. The killer had way too many drinks in his system and he needed to leave to finish up paying the rest of his bill.
Two of the young blonde and dark-haired ladies had been hanging all over him the past hour. Though he was letting down his guard somewhat.
He decided with a slight being off balance to tell the two ladies to get lost for now that he might be back the next evening.
He took out the bills from his black pants with two one hundred bills having checked them before arriving at the bar & grill.
"Here you go, sir. This should cover the rest of my bill for this evening," he says with a slight frown.
The older bartender takes the two bills to check them himself as per protocol for the bar & grill. As it had turned both of the bills were found and he placed them into a small vault that he keeps under the bar for now. He still had forty minutes before the entire place was closed down.
Meanwhile, the two ladies had left outside the front door. The killer had to use the men's room one last time before heading out again to his motel.
Washington, D.C. small airport some 15 minutes away from the main airport.
It was 4.30 a.m.
Leon Vance will be picking up Leroy Jethro Gibbs at the small airport along with a special file given to him from the White House. President Biden and his military people at the Pentagon had been keeping track of three Naval officers with two of them now dead. The three of them had been involved with a drug trafficking group from overseas.
Many feel that the reason two of these officers are now dead had either been killed by the drug trafficking group or a serial killer. As to why NCIS had been asked to work on the case.
It was slightly chilly in the forties for the winter season. Vance had been wearing his black leather jacket inside the terminal when he heard the call that Gibbs's flight had been landing on runway four.
So he headed for the main gate of his flight to greet his old friend...
