Chapter 2: Smallville
Clark didn't waste any time sticking around once the examinees were back at UA's main campus. He had a flight to catch.
It was a direct flight from Japan to Metropolis. It would take a while to get there though, so once Clark got on the plane just sat back, fully relaxed. He had always enjoyed plane rides due to something that he had only realized once he found out about his own heritage.
It took around half a day for the plane to land at Metropolis International Airport, and by then Clark was ready to be home.
As he exited the airport, he saw a sign that had, in large letters, the name "Clark Kent" on it. He walked toward the sign, knowing exactly who was there.
"Lana!" Clark exclaimed as he speedily walked over to her.
"Did you really expect me not to welcome my boyfriend back to the States?"
"I suppose not Lana. Thanks for coming to pick me up."
"It's my pleasure. Now let's get this show on the road. First stop, Big Belly Burger."
Big Belly Burger
"So, Clark. How did everything go?"
"I think it went really well, actually. I am pretty sure I aced the written portion of it."
"I don't think you could have messed up on that if you wanted to. I mean, you did test out of high school. If you were to actually fail, then I don't think anyone could actually get in."
"I suppose you're right."
"What I really want to hear about is the practical."
"Of course. You sure do love your action Lana."
"Who doesn't? Now spill."
Clark only laughed, and started his tale.
The duo continued to talk to one another for around an hour, but before they left, Lana had something important to say.
"So you know how I applied for the Business course at U.A. Well, I got in."
"That's amazing!."
"It is. Anyway, going to school in Japan means needing a place to stay. So that means getting an apartment. I was hoping that you would like to be my roommate."
"Well, I have to get in first."
"I'm not hearing a no."
Clark chuckled and said, "No, no you're not."
With that, the duo left since they needed to actually get a start on the 4 hour drive back to Smallville.
Smallville: The Kent Family Farm
"Lana, you know you don't need to walk me back to my house right?"
"Well, we have to ask your parents if you can stay with me in Japan, if that isn't a bother?"
"You're never a bother to us, Lana," came a voice from the patio of the farmhouse. He was a middle aged man, wearing jeans and a plaid shirt.
"Hey dad," Clark replied back to his father, Jonathan Kent.
"Why don't you two come inside? Martha is making dinner."
The two did exactly that, following Jonathan back inside.
"Lana! Hello dear. Clark, welcome home," Clark's mom spoke. "Dinner will be ready soon. Why don't you all get comfortable and sit down?"
Clark and Lana walked into the dining room and sat down at a table. After a while, Martha came into the room with dinner, and they all began to eat. However, before they could get too far into eating, the doorbell rang.
"I'm not expecting anything," Martha spoke, but Clark stood up.
"I'll get it," he said.
Opening the front door, the only thing that Clark saw was a small fancy white box. While Clark would normally think that this would just be a normal delivery, This box had the logo of UA on it. 'My letter from UA. This will determine whether or not I got in.'
"What is it, Clark?" Asked Ma Kent from the dining room.
Instead of speaking, Clark brought the box to said room. He showed his family and Lana the cover, before setting it on the table. The first thing he saw was a small disk. He put the disk on the table and the disk began to glow, before a hologram appeared out of it. The person on the hologram was the hero All Might, who then spoke.
"I AM HERE!"
"Clark Kent. You have earned 56 HERO points and 60 RESCUE points. On top of having passed your written exam, you have accumulated 116 points overall. This places you in First place and around 40 points above second.
Congratulations! And as the newest Faculty teacher at UA allow me to welcome you to
YOUR HERO ACADEMIA!"
The hologram shut off and the first thing that Clark felt was a massive hug, from Ma Kent. "That is amazing! Great job!"
The moment she let go, Clark could see his father Jonathan Kent in front of him with his hand stretched out inviting him to shake it. Clark took it and looked at his father, who had a small tear coming down his face. "You are going places, son. I am so proud to be your father."
"Thanks dad," Clark said with a smile. His parents then both moved out of the way and Clark then saw Lana with an almost giddy smile. She walked over and gave him a high five.
Eventually the trio brought their attention back to the table, and Clark looked inside of the box. Inside he saw a paper that gave detail to the important things about the school that the hologram didn't cover such as when the first day would be and that they needed to send in designs for their uniforms.
Looking back up from within the box, Lana then spoke up, "So, since Clark and I are both now going to UA, we are going to need a place to stay. Now, I already have my part covered, to pay for an apartment. The money my parents left me will pay for it. I was wondering, and I already talked to Clark about it, if he would be able to be my roommate."
Jonathan then spoke in a very serious manner, "Now aren't you two too young to be moving in together."
When Clark and Lana started to blush, Jonathan then spoke without all of the seriousness and said, "I'm only joking."
"Well, that was the one thing I was worried about, but it seems like that is the perfect solution as long as Clark is alright with it," Martha continued.
"I quite like the idea," Clark spoke with a massive smile.
"Then it's settled."
The group quickly got to eating their dinner.
After the group finished with their food, Jonathan took Clark into the other room. Making sure that they were alone, Jonathan spoke, "Now son, while you were at UA, you mom and I were speaking. You are growing up into a fine young man that we are both super proud of. We never even doubted you'd get in. Now, you know how I don't like you spilling your secret out to everyone and how I never willingly let you before."
"Yeah, I know."
"I still don't particularly like it, but you are becoming your own man now. I am not going to try to stop you from telling others about you now. It's your responsibility now. You can, no you should tell Lana though, especially if you're going to be living together. You can also tell anyone else, but that is at your own leisure."
"Thanks dad. Do you have any advice for me?"
"Always hold on to Smallville. Always hold onto your roots. They are who you are, and should influence who you become."
With that Clark left the room that he and his father were in and quickly searched for Lana.
He ended up finding her on the patio, just outside of the farm house.
"Clark," she spoke after seeing him.
"I, I have to show you something, Clark spoke, through his nervousness that was beginning to show."
"What do you have to show me?"
"That secret I've been keeping from you all these years."
"Clark. You don't have to…" Lana knew that Clark had always kept a secret from her, one that he was afraid of telling her. She didn't know why he was scared, but she didn't push it. She knew he would tell her in time. She always trusted him that much.
"No, I do. I can't keep you in the dark anymore. Not if I'm going to live with you."
"Okay, so what is it?"
"It's in the barn."
Minutes later, the duo was in the barn. "So, where is it?" questioned Lana, curiously.
"It's in the storm cellar."
"In the storm cellar. You never open the storm cellar."
"Wouldn't be much of a secret if everyone knew it."
The two continued to make their way towards the entrance to the storm cellar. Once they were finally there, Clark kicked some hay to the side to find the handle. Clark then opened the door and gave Lana a flashlight.
When they were finally in the storm cellar, all Lana could see with her flashlight was a large tarp covering something the size of a car. But why would that be down here. Clark moved over to the tarp and pulled it off the…
"What is that?"
"That's my spaceship."
"Wait, your spaceship?" Lana was extremely confused. Was Clark saying that he was an alien?
"Yes, my spaceship. I come from the planet Krypton…"
