When Wendy walked into the room, Ben felt something familiar about her. He also felt a strange, but familiar smell.

"The smell of a dragon." Ben said to Wendy.

Ben never smelled a dragon, but strangely, he knew about it.

"A Dragon Slayer?" He asked.

"Yes, she is a Dragon Slayer. Coincidentally, she also found herself in the forest around the same time as you. But then, a boy found her and brought her here 2 days before your arrival." Roubaul explained.

"Then the reason for your guess is her?" Ben asked him.

"Yes. When you told me about the day you found yourself in the forest, I was reminded of her. But I was still not sure, so I asked you but you were being difficult yesterday. If I don't scare you like that, I feel like you would attack me and this morning, you actually did attack me." Roubaul elaborated.

"It's your own fault for appearing behind me and startling me. Besides my attack didn't do a thing." Ben snapped.

"Well, forget it! Boy Wendy is a Dragon Slayer like you and she is a member of the guild now. How about you join us and help Wendy? I don't exactly know what happened to you two, but I can guess. You were sent forward in time 400 years."

"What?" Ben frowned.

Although he knew he came from a different world, but he never thought that the other Dragon Slayers were sent forward from the past, so he was curious.

"400 years ago, the dragons suddenly disappeared. No one knows the reason, but it's a known fact. That means natural Dragon Slayer magic should be gone by now. However, you suddenly appeared of nowhere at the same time. Natural Dragon Slayers were taught by real dragons, so you must have been sent from the era of dragons 400 years ago." Roubaul reasoned.

Ben is surprised and turned to look at Wendy who seemed to be sad, so it must be true.

"That's probably true. So why did you want me to join this guild?" He asked.

"The world has changed drastically over the last 400 years. You will need to adapt slowly and a guild is the best place to do that. A guild is like a family. We help each other here. I also want you to help Wendy, as she is a fellow Dragon Slayer." Roubaul instructed.

"Family, huh?" Ben felt sad after hearing those words.

[A.I Chip suggests that you join this guild. There is no problem with this guild, and you can use it's resources to train. You can also learn about this new world slowly through the guild.]

"I'll think about it first. This place is brand new and I can't trust anyone yet. I'll give you a answer in 2 days." Ben stated.

"Alright, you can stay in that house for the next 2 days." Roubaul nodded.

Ben left the room and headed to the lake. He believed in what A.I Chip was saying, but he had his own opinion. He is trained to be wary in a new place and around new people. With time he'll decide whether to trust them or not.

"U-um, e-excuse me." Wendy stuttered.

Wendy suddenly approached Ben and called out to him shyly.

"You're...Wendy. Do you need something?" He asked.

"Uh, c-can we talk a little? Ah, it's okay if you don't want to." Wendy seemed nervous.

"Okay, let's talk." Ben remarked.

Wendy was happy and introduced herself. Ben also introduced himself and shared his current age.

"Um, Ben-San, what Dragon Slayer have you learned? My magic is Sky Dragon Slayer magic and the one who taught me was Grandeeney, a sky dragon." Wendy explained.

"Don't call me Ben-san, just Ben is fine. My magic is Sun Dragon Slayer magic. I was taught by Escanor, a Sun Dragon. However, he transferred his magic to me prior to his death. We met not that long ago but he felt I could be trusted enough to transfer his knowledge of magic to." Ben informed her.

That was a lie. There was no way Ben was going to tell her where he really came from. She'll just think it's crazy and avoid him. Ben just told her a story made up by A.I Chip and most of them believed it. They can't prove it even if they believed him.

"I-I didn't train long under Grandeeney, but she taught me everything I know. That's why...um." Wendy hesitated.

"You want to train together?" Ben asked.

"Y-yesh. Ouch." Wendy bit her mouth.

"Ha ha ha ha, you don't need to be so nervous around me. I won't bite. But fine, let's train each other." Ben said.

Wendy was elated and the two started training together right away. Ben and Wendy did physical training first, as it's really important. Wendy was confused on what she needed to do to train her physique, but she still followed Ben.

They did a lot of physical training that morning. Of course Wendy's sets are lower than Ben's. She is still 5 years old, so her physical training is just for warming up her body and relaxing her muscles.

Then finally, they started their magic training. They start with simple spells, following A.I Chip's training menu. What they need to be familiarized with is not the spell, but the element. Ben needed to understand the sun and Wendy needed to understand the sky.

Ben and Wendy share opinions with each other about the sun and sky.

The two share their opinion with each other about the sun and sky. Of course Ben had more opinions because he had been alive for 25 years before and as an elite soldier he learned a lot about science. But on occasion Wendy also had surprising opinions from the point of view of the magic world causing Ben to gain a new perspective.

They didn't do anything excessive regarding their training. They just practiced with control, elemental manipulation and other basic stuff. This training scenario was set up by A.I Chip, and Ben just followed it.

"Ben-San, this training is much more effective than just training with my spells." Wendy said.

"Well, that's good to hear, but we still have more training to do." Ben replied.

"Eh? There's more?" Wendy asked.

"Yeah and it's important. We will practice hand to hand combat." Ben answered.

"Combat training is very important for a mage. There's no use having great power if you can't use it well."

"Listen, Wendy! I will teach you some close quarter combat skills, alright? Do you want to use your hands, or a weapon. If it's a weapon, I could teach you how to use a knife and short staff."

"I want to use my hands." Wendy insisted.

"Alright." Ben nodded.

He taught Wendy a type of mixed martial arts that he learned from the military academy. He focused on teaching her the techniques that didn't rely on physical power because she's not nearly as strong as him and she preferred graceful techniques over brute strength.

They trained until the evening and then returned to the village. They ate dinner with everyone in the village. At first Ben was still uncomfortable, but he quickly got over it and started to talk to the others.

The next day...

Ben resumed training with Wendy using the same methods. He also got more comfortable around the villagers and began to greet them. He didn't talk much, but he was becoming more comfortable there.

Ben trained with Wendy until it got dark. He took a bath in the lake and then joined dinner. They had a normal meal and Ben proceeded to start a conversation with some of the villagers. Then after dinner, Roubaul called for Ben.

"So little Ben, you've been here for 2 days. What are you going to do?" Roubaul asked the boy.

"Well, I've been living here for the last 2 days and observing you guys. Although I mostly trained, I saw what you did. I have to admit I judged you too early, but that's just me. I'm a very cautious person." Ben said.

"Well, that's normal. Everyone needs to be cautious coming to a new place with new people. However, you're overly cautious and tend to act excessively and that's not good." Roubaul said.

"Maybe I wouldn't act that way if you didn't appear behind me like a creep." Ben exclaimed.

Roubaul looked away and whistled, causing everyone else to give him the stink eye.

"In any case, I know a little more about you guys and I can say that you're good people. In addition I can verify this isn't a dark guild." Ben said.

"I told you that earlier, but you weren't convinced." Roubaul sweat dropped.

"That's why I've decided to join Cait Shelter." Ben smiled.

"Ha ha ha ha that's more like it! We've got a new member. Let's party!" Roubaul shouted.

"YEAH!" The guild members screamed.

There was a party that night and Ben was finally part of a guild.
