After Ben released his strongest attack, the surviving Lizardmen retreated. There were only a few of them left and they didn't feel like they could win, so they ran away from the village. They left their injured comrades behind. The members of Cait Shelter killed those that had serious injuries, but didn't pursue the retreating enemies.

Ben laid on the ground and panted a little. That technique used a lot of magic power even if it was a smaller version of a actual supernova. Even dragons couldn't create a supernova.

"Why'd I compare it to a actual supernova? I can't even match a real dragon's supernova." Ben sighed.

He stopped thinking about it and sucked in sunlight to restore his energy. Then he helped his guild mates that were badly injured by carrying them to the village. Wendy treated their injuries with her magic, prioritizing those with more significant injuries.

Ben also helped out by patching some wounds with ointment and bandages. Wendy was going to use her magic on those with more serious injuries. Those with minor injuries would only use normal medicine. Wendy's magic power was still low, so she wasn't able to heal a lot of people.

"Good job, Ben-boy. That attack was very impressive." Roubaul admitted.

"Thanks, but I'm not satisfied yet. That attack used almost half my magic power, so I'm only able to use it twice. I need to raise my magic power capacity." Ben replied.

"Well don't worry about it. Your capacity will increase naturally. Besides, you're growing fast enough. Your magic power has increased dramatically after 1 year. That's a lot of progress for someone your age." Roubaul told him.

"It's not enough. Dragon Slayer magic uses more magic power than ordinary magic. Even more for me since I use 2 elements." Ben grumbled.

"Hmm, so what do you want to do?" Roubaul asked.

"Can you reduce our job intensity for the foreseeable future? Give us 3 hunting jobs a week so we'll have more time to train." Ben suggested.

"Hmm, okay we can do that." Roubaul agreed to the request.

"Great, I want to train in that cave while we're not on hunting jobs. The Ethernano density can give us more results." Ben remarked.

"Alright, just don't eat the lacrima crystals alright?" Roubaul insisted.

"Huh? Why would I do that? Even if Dragon Slayers eat elements to restore our magic, we aren't stupid enough to consume lacrima crystals." Ben sweat dropped.

"Well, I'm just warning you because the lacrima crystals are solid Ethernano, so it's the same as eating elements for magic power." Roubaul stated.

"Hmm, now you caused me to become curious about the taste. Maybe I'll try a lick of it later." Ben mused.

"...Whatever. Just don't get high on it!" Roubaul exclaimed.

"You talk like it's a drug or something." Ben replied.

"It's similar." Roubaul added before walking away.

"I'll be careful." Ben promised.

He now had more time to train and he would focus on increasing his magic power. He placed importance on magic power before, but it still wasn't enough. Well, what could he do? It's his first year of training with magic, so he has a lot to learn.

Luckily, Ben has A.I Chip to help him learn faster. He learned about a third of the essentials in Roubaul's book. It took longer than he thought, because processing all those magic theories wasn't easy. It was even harder because he wasn't originally from this world and he never knew about real magic.

The next day...

Ben took Wendy to the cave for training purposes. The Lizardmen issue was resolved and they won't mess with the village again anytime soon. Now the two could focus on getting stronger.

Wendy also felt the same as Ben and wanted to get stronger. Yesterday, she wasn't able to heal everyone due to her low magic power. She wants to help everyone, so she needed to increase her magic power and mastery of magic.

Roubaul shared with them the best way to raise their capacity. They will need to release and absorb Ethernano, like breathing. It will make their capacity raise slowly. However, they need to gain full advantage of it too.

He told them to release the Ethernano by having it flow through their body. The ethernano that flowed through their body will slowly strengthen their muscles, bones, veins, skin, everything. Of course the effect is small, but if they keep doing it, then the gain will be high.

Roubaul said that the reason for this is because Ethernano is the basic energy of the world. Cells that keep getting nourished by ethernano will be strengthened slowly. It required a lot of effort, but that's what everyone who wanted to be strong did.

Then after they release their ethernano, their body will automatically absorb it again from their surroundings. Roubaul prohibited them from using their ability to eat their element and let their body absorb the ethernano naturally. This will also train their body to absorb ethernano faster, so they can recover faster too.

Ben and Wendy begin their training and he gave her a example first. Ben did as Roubaul said and as A.I Chip's assistance, he could do it a lot easier. Then Wendy also made an attempt with Ben observing it to stop her if she did something wrong. But she could do it just fine, so he had no need to worry.

The two trained all day and ate the lunch they brought with them. They returned to the village after it started to get dark. They weren't allowed to overdo their training and must return after dark on Roubaul's orders.

Ben and Wendy went on another hunting job the next day. Then after hunting, they'll practice their spells and other things in their usual spot, not inside the cave. They'll only train in the cave when they don't have a job to complete.

Their schedule consisted of:

1. Hunting jobs and training on Monday, Wednesday and Friday

2. Training in the cave on Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday

3. Resting on Sunday

Days passed with nothing strange happening. They kept training and slowly getting stronger. After 3 months, they achieved a lot. Compared to their previous training speed, this was faster.

Between the two, the one who grew faster was Ben. He was older than Wendy, so his body can handle more training than her. He was also very disciplined because of his experience in the military, and he never skipped training unlike Wendy.

Well, Wendy is still a child too, so she still wanted to play on occasion. She often skipped training to play with her guild mates and Ben let her do whatever she wanted. She needed to enjoy her childhood, so there wasn't a issue.

He is a grown up - he was a grown up man, so he already had a fair amount of childhood memories. That's why he will allow Wendy to have good childhood memories and he will take on the responsibility of a big brother to protect her.

Today, they were going on their usual hunting job. But when they returned to the village, they noticed something strange. It was a big white egg with pink markings on it. They had never seen a egg like this.

"What should we do?" Wendy asked.

"Hmm, let's bring this back with us and ask Gramps about it. Maybe that old fossil will know something." Ben answered.

They decide to take the egg back to the guild. Wendy carried it as Ben was carrying their prey. After arriving in the village, Wendy immediately took the egg to Roubaul. He inspected it and had never seen a egg like this either.

"How about you hatch it and find out what's inside the egg? You can make it your friend and potentially your partner." Roubaul suggested.

"Ooh, that sounds good. Do you want to keep it?" Ben asked Wendy.

"Yes, I will take care of it." She was extremely happy now.

"Then you need to focus on it. You can skip your training until it hatches. Just make sure the egg doesn't get broken." Ben ruffled Wendy's hair.

"Okay." She nodded.
