Ben and his team went on another job. This job was rather simple, they had to teach the basics of magic to children at Clover Town's magic school for kids because their usual teacher is absent. But it was strange because they were still children too.
Ben is 12 years old, a few years older than the students, but there wasn't much of a difference. The oldest student was 10, just a few years younger than him. It's like they were practicing magic with the students instead of teaching them.
Luckily the job was a lot easier for that reason. They're around the same age, so it was easier to talk with these children.
"Alright you guys, do you want to be able to use cool magic like us?" Ben grinned as a fireball formed in his hand.
The children started to get excited. Then Wendy used her wind magic. Ben even asked Bella and Carla to fly, so the children will become even more excited. It worked really well, so Team Ben began the lesson.
They taught the children basic things like Ethernano to magic power. Their primary focus was teaching them how to use magic power as fuel for their magic.
These children have chosen what type of magic they would like to learn, so they tried it immediately with Ben watching and correcting them.
He scanned the process when the children tried to use their magic for the first time. It could help him determine their mistake and it might be useful to scan children that are using magic for the first time. But suddenly a boy shouted loudly while trying to use his magic.
"HAAA!" The boy shouted.
"Don't scream and get too worked up, calm down! Your shouting will disturb your friends. What you need to do is concentrate, so try to calm down and feel it. Screaming now will prevent you from feeling the magic power." Ben advised.
"A-Alright." The boy looked around and saw his friends were looking at him angrily.
"He he he, sorry sorry." The boy apologized, chuckling.
They continue their training and Ben's thought was correct. Watching children learn magic for the first time really helps. He has noticed some errors that he made on occasion.
Wendy also found some mistakes too, so it really helped them. She also found some friends around her age here. This was another reason Ben and Roubaul chose this job so Wendy will have some friends around her age.
The lesson concluded around noon with some children figuring out the basics already. Some haven't been able to do anything, but it's normal, it's still the first day after all.
After finishing the lesson, Team Ben went to the headmaster's room for a report. They gave the headmaster a report in full detail.
"You guys show better results in a single day than the usual teacher did in 2 weeks." The headmaster told Team Ben.
"I think it's probably because the teacher can't teach them due to the fact they keep asking to play or do unnecessary things. My advice is for the teacher to change their method of handling the children. They need to show that learning magic is fun, not hard and complicated." Ben suggested.
He started listing the children's complaints about their usual lesson. He asked the children about this and they easily told him.
But Ben didn't just share the children's complaints with the headmaster, he gave him some solutions as well. The headmaster was surprised with his thorough analysis.
Of course he could come up with a lot of solutions for the problems, he has A.I Chip's assistance. Not only that, he taught Wendy for 2 years and the cats for almost a year now, so it gave him some experience.
"Thank you for all the advice, I will pass it onto the teacher. But I also have a offer for you." The headmaster said.
"What is it?" Ben asked.
"How about you regularly teach here? I don't mean every day like their regular teacher. I'm talking about every once in a while based on your schedule." The headmaster answered.
"Hmm, regularly huh?" Ben mused.
He pondered it, then looked at Wendy who seemed to be happy. She's happy because she can meet her new friends if they came here regularly. Ben understood this and smiled, it wasn't a bad offer.
"Alright, we'll teach every Monday from now on." He accepted the request.
"Ha ha ha, that's good. The children really like you, so they will take learning seriously from now on." The headmaster stated.
Ben decided to take this as a regular job because Wendy seems to like it. It's also not that dangerous of a job, so he can complete it with his team. He's sure Roubaul would agree with him.
After everything was done, Team Ben returned to their guild. They didn't explore the town because they had already done that.
There was nothing unusual on their way back to the guild. They reported to Roubaul, and just like Ben predicted, the old man agreed with the plan to teach at that school regularly.
"Well, it's good that you have some friends your age Wendy. But don't forget your job is to teach them about magic." Roubaul reminded her.
"Yes, I will teach them a lot about magic." Wendy nodded.
"Alright, now you need to train harder as well. You don't want to be surpassed by the ones you're teaching, right?" He asked.
"I will as I don't want them to outshine me." She replied.
After Roubaul agreed to them taking the job, Wendy ran off to the training ground with Carla. Bella tugged on Ben to train her magic, so he could only follow her demand.
Ben trained the girls magic and evaluated their mistakes. He trained the 3 until the sky turned dark, they're in high spirits after teaching those kids.
At night before he went to sleep, Ben continued his research on the method to raise his magic power's temperature with lower magic power. He read the books that he purchased to learn more about temperature, fire, light, the sun itself and everything else that he might need.
With A.I Chip's help, he can learn from a lot of books in a short amount of time. He could finish 10 books in a few hours before he fell asleep.
'Hmm, all these books only scratch the surface of the knowledge I need. Maybe I need to head to a big town or even the capital. There should be books there with more information.' Ben thought.
He decided his next solo job would be in big towns or the capital. The next day, Ben asked Roubaul if he could go on a job in a big town for his next solo job. He agreed because he knew Ben was thirsty for knowledge, and it's good for him.
After talking to Roubaul, Ben trained with the girls again. He trained some normal fire and light magic to better understand fire and light. Too bad he didn't have access to plasma magic, so he used his current magic to learn about it.
There is an element that the sun has and he wanted to learn about gravity. However, he decided to improve his fire, light and plasma first. He will train gravity after mastering fire, light and plasma to an extent.
When Ben used some fire magic, he discovered something interesting. Some fire spells had different colors from standard fire, and these colors contained different properties.
He found a blue fire with cold properties and a yellow fire that smells like a fart. These fires are a part of Rainbow Fire magic, but Ben only found these 2 for the time being.
'Hmm, cold fire and smelly fire, very illogical and strange. But this is magic, so anything can be possible. It seems my logical thinking has limited me sometimes. Magic is based on imagination and logic will limit it.' Ben thought.
Ben tried to shift his logic from a ordinary human's to a mage with magic because he was one now. But it wasn't that easy to change 25 years of experiences. Some of that logic remained in his brain.
Fire is hot, that is his logic, so finding a cold fire was strange and he had trouble understanding that. Even now, he still looked for the logical reason behind it even if he knew it was illogical.
Ben knew his logical thinking was great for his progress. But it also limited his potential to grow further. His logic made him walk on a straight path, but he didn't realize there were branching paths other than the one he was on.
However, this is his way, his path of growth. He will think outside the box from now on, but he will still have his logic. Everyone is different and has their own way. So Ben will learn his way, but he will be open to different possibilities.
'A.I Chip, analyze this strange fire and try to discover why they have these properties.' Ben thought.

'If I can research these fires, maybe I can integrate them into my Sun Dragon Slayer magic. Maybe I'll be able to create a new fire with good properties. There are many things I can think of. Magic sure is interesting.' Ben thought to himself.
