The hand to hand combat is the last lesson for today. They end their lesson right as school ended for the day. Ben told his students to train on their own at home and not slack off.
"I want to see good progress from you again next week, alright?" Ben insisted.
"Can we ask for a reward again?" Dito questioned.
"You really like rewards, don't you? Sure, as long as it isn't money." Ben responded.
"Eh?" The students were disappointed.
"If you want money, then work for it yourself. Help your parents or do a small job. Even Bella and Carla work for their own money, so don't lose to the cats!" He exclaimed.
After that, the students leave and were ready to go home. Wendy asks Ben to join the girls who want to play at Olive's house. Ben allowed her to do so and even asked her to bring Bella along.
Bella protested, but when Ben told her that he was heading to the library to read some books, she decided to follow Wendy. She doesn't like books and will always leave Ben when he read books.
"I will pick you up at 4pm, alright?" He promised.
"Yes, commander." Wendy saluted.
She and the cats leave the school with the girls. Ben goes to the library after seeing all the students leave. He will scan a lot of books today, and add them to A.I Chip's database.
He entered the library that didn't look that big, just like a normal school library. But there's no desk inside and only rows of books and cabinets because student's can't read here. The books in the cabinets also just have a introduction and description, so they can save space.
They need to ask for a copy to read the books in class. Only teachers are allowed to read in here, in a special room for teachers. Even so, no copy is allowed to be taken home. Any book copy that leaves the school grounds will burn automatically.
Ben started to scan the books using A.I Chip to find something that he hasn't found yet. Then just like he thought, the school has many books that he doesn't have.
'I can find almost all the books I purchased from the public magic stores in here. Well, it will be strange if they don't have something that's not available in the public magic stores.' He thought.
Ben took 15 books that he doesn't have yet and took them to the librarian. The librarian is a old lady and she's very friendly.
"Do you want all these copies?" The librarian asked.
"Yes, this is my permit from the headmaster." Ben took out a letter.
"Ara a teacher at such a young age. You must be very talented." The librarian said.
"I just worked hard to reach this level." Ben smiled.
"Fu fu fu, alright then." The librarian chuckled.
The librarian read the books' title and then she give the paper to someone in the secret room behind her. Sometime later, a man came out of the room with the books and placed them on the table.
Ben thanked the librarian and man before taking the books to the reading room for the teachers. It is located on the 2nd floor of the library and the stairs are right in front of the librarian's desk.
He went up and took a seat at a empty desk. Well, no one is here, so every desk is free. Ben opened the first book and starts to scan the pages. He can scan faster now because A.I Chip's scanning ability has increased after scanning a lot of books.
Ben didn't bother to read anything and just focused on scanning. The librarian watched this through a monitoring lacrima. She's intrigued by how Ben 'read' the books at high speed.
'Does that young man have magic that helps him read fast? Hmm, interesting.' The librarian thought.
Ben knew that he was being watched, but he ignored it and focused on his task. He scanned the books fast and finished in 3 hours, right at 4pm. It's time to pick Wendy up, so he immediately left the library.
He headed to Olive's house, following the address she gave him. He arrived at her house which was a normal house in a housing area. Ben knocked on the door and a middle-aged man came out.
"What do you want, brat? If you want to date my daughter, I won't let her date anyone expect me." The man crossed his arms.
"Are you Olive's father?" Ben asked.
"That's right, as long as this Olaf is still alive, no boy can get close to my cute daughter Olive." Olaf stated.
'Uwaah, an overly doting father.' He thought.
"Well, I'm here to pick up my sisters who are playing with your daughter." Ben told Olaf.
"Your sisters? That's fine, as long as you didn't come here to meet my daughter. But I won't let you come in, you're not allowed to see my daughter even if you just want to pick your sisters up. I will call them for you." Olaf insisted.
'This guy is troublesome.' Ben thought.
"Alright, their names are Wendy, Bella and Carla." He informed Olaf.
SLAM* Olaf slammed the door without saying another word. Ben was really pissed by this, he would beat Olaf up if that guy wasn't a student's father.
'Calm down Ben, he's not as bad as your superiors in the military that will spit in your face.' Ben forced himself to calm down.
Sometime later Wendy, Bella and Carla came out with Olive. Ben didn't see Olaf with them, so he was confused.
"Where's your father?" He asked.
"H-he's..." Olive stammered.
"Dead." Bella finished.
"Huh?" Ben blinked.
"He is dead after Olive said that she hates him." Carla clarified.
"Olive is mad at him for being rude to you and not allowing you to enter the house." Wendy added.
Ben sweat dropped at the family drama and sighed.
"Well whatever, let's go home girls! Gramps will be worried if we return too late." He ordered.
"Yes." Wendy, Bella and Carla nodded.
"Olive, thanks for playing with them, see you next week. Don't forget to train okay? I expect good progress from you." Ben told her.
"Yes, I'll show you that I am the best." She proclaimed.
"Ooh, that's the spirit." Ben smiled.
After that conversation, Team Ben left and returned to their guild. Wendy, Bella and Carla kept telling the story of what they did in Olive's house with the other girls. They're really enjoying their time together.
Ben just listened to them and smiled because they're having fun. He's really glad that they took this job. Wendy needs friends her age, not just older people like their guild mates. Even Ben is too old because of his mental age.
They arrived back at their guild after a half hour and immediately reported to Roubaul. He appeared happy that Wendy started to tell him about her day with her friends. He even told Ben to be like Wendy and play with the boys too.
'Ugh, why would this old fossil ask me to do that? He knows I don't like doing something like that. There's no way I'll play with kids, right?' Ben had a displeased expression on his face, but he didn't say anything to Roubaul.
Roubaul knew what he was thinking and sighed. He doesn't know that Ben is a 25 year old, so he wants Ben to play with boys like his body's age, not just train and learn magic. But he doesn't force Ben to play and just gave advice.
The next day...
Ben trained like usual, but now he was focused on physical training. He had good stamina, so his focus was strength and agility. His intelligence is the fastest to grow because he continued reading books.
