After sparring with the students and teaching them a few important things, Ben allowed them to go home. Then just like last week, Wendy and the cats went to play with the girls while he headed to the library.
A 19 year old woman named Arisa Marvell then volunteered to help Ben with his research. She had long blue hair that reached down to the back of her neck. Arisa was also a member of the Cait Shelter guild.
There were still many books in the library that he needed to scan. Ben picked the books out and got the copies from the librarian. He walked up to the 2nd floor and began to scan the books.
"A.I Chip, are there any abnormalities in my body after that battle?" Ben asked A.I Chip while scanning the books.
[Yes, the moonlight you ate affected your body a little.]
"What? Why didn't you tell me?!" He demanded.
[Because I was not sure, and it was only temporary.]
A.I Chip then explained to Ben that eating the moonlight caused a problem. His body was made to hold the hot sun energy, but moonlight had cold in it. That coldness affected his body a little.
It wasn't fatal, but it shouldn't be overlooked either. The coldness slightly reduced his body's ability to hold heat. But it only affected his body temporarily after he ate moonlight.
[It's like adding a block of ice to boiling water. The ice will reduce the water's temperature. But because it's still boiling, the water will be boiled again.]
"So it's not dangerous, right?"
[It can be dangerous if you eat too much. The coldness can destroy your body permanently if you eat too much at once before recovering.]
"Okay, I will be careful. The moonlight is just an emergency energy source, I won't rely on that. Anything else?"
[No other side effect has been found.]
"Phew, what a relief." Ben continued scanning the books.
He finished scanning the books at 4pm. He then left the school and picked up his team mates, then they return home. As usual, the girls tell him what they've done with their friends. Ben just responds accordingly to their story.
After arriving in the village, they head to the Guild hall. They report their job to Roubaul like normal. There's no problem with their job, so Roubaul dismisses them after that.
For the next 2 days, Ben focused on healing his body. Wendy cast healing magic on his broken bones in the morning, to make him heal faster.
He also laid under the sunlight to absorb it's energy and heal himself faster. He laid near the lake while the girls play nearby.
"This ability to absorb sunlight and heal my body is really good. But I need a lot of liquid for it, just like a plant that absorbs water and sunlight." Ben said as he enjoyed the sunlight.
Carla responded to him, "Maybe you'll become green like a leaf someday."
Everyone imagined Ben becoming green like a plant and then cringed.
"Why'd I imagine myself as Hulk instead of a dryad, Trent, or other magical plant creatures?" Ben was confused.
He dismisses the thought and closes his eyes. He checks A.I Chip's database to read something and kill time. He scrolled through the list and finally found something that interests him.
The thing that interests him is Holder Magic. All of Ben's spells are Caster Magic, so he's not that familiar with Holder Magic. He became interested in it because he had some magic items like his car and knife.
Ben wants to learn Holder Magic to increase his range of abilities. These 2 types have their strengths and weaknesses. By learning both types, he will be able to cover each types weakness.
Besides, he likes to learn new things and Holder Magic is basic knowledge. So there's no way he won't learn it. He might be able to make Holder-type spells in the future.
Ben asked A.I Chip to transfer all knowledge about Holder Magic to his brain. A.I Chip complied with the request and he felt a lot of information entering his brain. Ben has gotten used to this, so he doesn't feel dizzy or hurt at all.
Ben acquired all the information about Holder Magic that A.I Chip scanned in the past. He processed all that information while enjoying the sunlight and breeze.
'What the heck? It uses magic items but still requires the mage's magic power? Isn't this a scam? I thought this would use an external source of magic power like lacrima. Even my car uses lacrima, not magic power.' Ben protested in his head.
He protested, but then remembered that his car's mechanism is new. The old model uses the mage's magic power, not lacrima.
"Wait, this knife uses lacrima as fuel. So I can use it when I run out of magic power." Ben pondered.
He thought about it and remembered that the person who crafted this knife was Roubaul. That old man knew how his car worked in great detail. So Roubaul must've applied that concept in Ben's knife.
Ben grinned and immediately went to Roubaul. He was going to ask that old man to teach him how to craft magic items. The lacrima energy was his idea, so he had the right to ask about it.
He went to the guild hall and saw the old man flipping through a magazine's pages to look at sexy girls like usual. He hid the magazine immediately when he saw Ben, but Ben didn't care.
"Old man, can you teach me how to craft magic items?" He asked.
"You're interested in it? Sure, why not. You can make your own magic items in the future when I'm not around anymore." Roubaul replied.
"Hmm? Are you feeling your time will come soon? Well you're very old already." Ben joked.
PLETAK* Roubaul hit Ben on the head with a wooden stick. "You sound like you want me to die faster, rascal."
"I'm joking." Ben remarked as he rubbed his head.
Roubaul snorted and sat down. Ben then took a seat on the floor and the lesson commenced.
Roubaul explained some theoretical stuff first. Ben recorded it all using A.I Chip so he can learn from it whenever he wants.
"Thanks to your invention to use lacrima as fuel for the magic car, I'm able to use lacrima for normal magic items." Roubaul explained.
"So, does it use the same mechanism?" Ben asked.
"It does. That's why patenting your invention was the right idea."
"!? Do the Council and Kingdom want to use it?" Ben was surprised.
"Yeah, my friends informed me about it and we agree with it. Your money should've increased by now."
"I never checked it, so I don't know."
Ben never checks his bank account. So he never really knew if his money increased or not. But it surely decreased because he purchased a lot of things.
Well, he didn't really care about it. He has a good life now, and he won't change it even if he had a lot of money now. He knows what's important in life isn't money, but himself and the people around him.
He had asked Roubaul before to move out of the forest. Ben has a lot of money, so they can establish a big guild in the town. But the old man and all his guild mates refused.
They said that they enjoy a peaceful life in the forest. Well, even Ben liked to live here. He had lived in a big town in the past and it didn't give him a peaceful life like now.
So he agreed with everyone else to stay in this village. He'll just use his money to buy things that he and everyone wanted or needed from the town.
"Alright Ben-boy, let's try to make a magic item." Roubaul said.
"Okay."
Now Ben's lesson on crafting magic items has started.
