Inuyasha sputtered, looking back and forth between Kagome and his father, and Sesshomaru was eyeing his father suspiciously.
Their father grinned and scratched the back of his head.
Kagome blushed at the grin but also with embarrassment; surely they didnt really think that, right?!"
"No way," Inuyasha sputtered,
"Is it so unbelievable?" Toga questioned, looking at his youngest son; of course, Inuyasha wasn't buying it for a second. "Ha, fat chance, old man!"
"What, I am handsome and smart,"
"And a thousand years too old for her, but that's not the point!" Inuyasha waved a fist, "Sesshomaru has a better chance at her than you do!"
Toga laughed out loud, and Kagome was blushing at their insanity.
"How troublesome," Sesshomaru spoke quietly, making Kagome look at him. He just stood there, serious as always.
"Sesshomaru, you dont think-" Kagome started to say, but even saying it sounded ridiculous!
She blushed more. Did he really think that?
Sesshomaru have her no answer and turned and walked away. Kagome couldn't sit him, but if he thought he could think that about her and walk away, he was wrong.
She wasn't afraid of him!
Kagome bolted after him.
Inuyasha moved, but his father stopped him a shook his head.
"What?"
"She will sit him, let her,"
Inuyasha relaxed.
"Im sorry, I should not have said it out loud," Miroku admitted,
"Do not apologize, monk; my son was also curious; at least now she will set him straight,"
"But really-" Sango started to say, and suddenly Toga looked gloomy. "I could have won her over if I wanted."
Miroku sighed; these Inu men were giving him a headache.
"K, yeah, right, Kagome, dont fall that bullshit," He looked away.
"Oh?"
"Kagome has had many confessions of love," Miroku admitted,
His father smiled,
"Besides, it's not like Sesshomaru cares," Inuyasha added.
Meanwhile, Kagome called out his name, but he didnt stop. He wasn't running, so she easily caught up and grabbed his clothing. "You can't say something like that and just walk away!"
He stopped and looked down at the hand on his sleeve and then back at her.
She was pissed.
"Do you really think that!" She demanded to know,
"It matters not,"
"Apparently, it does!"
He yanked his arm, making her lose a grip on his sleeve.
"First off, I hardly know your father!"
"You do not need to explain Miko,"
"Shut up!" She yelled, making him widen his eyes slightly.
"How dare you!" Her voice was calmer now. "What kind of girl do you think I am." Suddenly, she was looking away "Do you really think that about us?"
He wondered if only for a moment, but now that she was yelling at him, he did seem ridiculous. He knew how his father was, but even more, he knew how she was.
"He is not your type," He admitted,
She blushed with annoyance. "That's beside the point," She said flatly,
"Even if he was," She rubbed her arm, "I wouldn't do that to you or Inuyasha."
He turned fully to her,
The moment got quiet, and suddenly, she felt shy. Then something funny popped into her head, and she giggled,
"What do you find an amusing woman?"
She smiled at him. "Could you really see me as your stepmother,"
"Miko," He growled with a slight blush on his own; the very thought annoyed him greatly,
"There never was and will never be anything between, erm, us," She said "Besides, the guy is like a thousand years older than me,"
"Every demon male you meet will be so Miko. Does this mean you will not take a demon lover?"
She blushed again; that was a bit personal! "Not someone's dad!"
They began to walk back, "We are basically the same age,"
"You are your father?"
"Hn,"
"But even so, he is your dad," She sighed, making him look at her. She could feel him stare as they made their way back to camp,
"Desnt look like she sat him to me," Inuyasha huffed,
"What are you barking about, Inuyasha," Sesshomaru snapped,
"Leave him alone, Inuyasha; he isn't the only one quick to jealousy," Kagome sat with a smirk,
Sesshomaru sat next to her and glared. "Surely you jest, woman,"
Toga laughed and looked at Inuyasha. "Looks like he is sitting to me,"
Then they all laughed.
Kagome and Sesshomaru looked at each other,
"Bothersom," He said, looking away but tucking his hands in his sleeves. Kagome looked away but smiled behind her hand.
