Ben was now standing on Varg's back as he was forced down due to the gravity. 5 times the gravity didn't seem to be too much, but for those who haven't felt it, their body will be extremely heavy.
Varg tried to move his body, something Ben wasn't going to allow. "Oops, I need to make sure you aren't able to move."
A black and purplish magic circle formed on Ben's right hand and he pointed it at Varg's right hand. "Gravity Balls!"
Ben fired a small purple ball at Varg's limbs and head. The balls had stronger gravity than his gravity domain at 10 times the gravity. But the gravity spells don't overlap, so Varg's limbs and head only get 10 times the gravity, not 15.
But that was enough to prevent Varg from moving his limbs and head. So now Varg was defenseless and Ben could go on the attack. Ben cracked his hands and grinned victoriously. Then he clenched his fists and covered them in Gravity Magic.
"Sun Dragon Heavy Fists!" Ben started to punch Varg from behind repeatedly. Verg felt the heavy punches and his bones began to crack. Varg wanted to move, but he can't because his limbs and head felt very heavy.
Varg had never felt this level of gravity and wasn't able to move at all. Ben kept punching Varg as he wanted to defeat him before Varg could get used to the gravity. Varg is strong, so he might get used to the gravity field quickly.
Ben's heavy punches and the gravity broke Varg's back and ribs. Ben focused his attack on a single spot, the ribs on the left side of Varg's chest. It didn't take long for Ben to break them and now his hand pierced through Varg's chest from behind.
Ben opened his palm and grabbed a big, beating heart from Varg's chest. Ben pulled it and ripped it out of Varg's chest. Blood sprayed out of the hole in Varg's back and chest.
"This is for everyone you've hurt in the past. You should be grateful I'm granting you an easy death." Ben said before he crushed the heart and blood sprayed onto his face.
Varg's eyes shake in disbelief before the light in his eyes dimmed and disappeared. He was defeated too quickly, so he wasn't able to believe it until the end. He dominated Ben before, but it didn't take long for the situation to turn around in Ben's favor.
After Varg died, he turned into black smoke again. Even the blood that sprayed onto Ben's face turned into smoke. The smoke then gathered and turned into a black book.
"This Etherious seems to be a medium level Etherious. This is proven by it's inability to assume a human form." Roubaul said.
"They can transform into humans?" Ben asked.
"Yes, usually the high-level ones. Although not all of them can do that." Roubaul replied.
"Hee, I never knew that." Ben said as he picked the black book up.
Ben doesn't sense anything coming from the book. It was different than the one Mreye came out of.
"Is it due to the fact that the Etherious is dead that I can't sense anything? When Mreye held his book and those dark mages performed the ritual, I could sense an ominous aura oozing out of the book." Ben said.
"It should be the reason. The Books of Zeref are tools that can be used to make Etherious. So if the Etherious died, the magic book will turn back into a normal book." Roubaul said.
"Then can I learn from it?" Ben asked.
"Sure, but don't go trying to create an Etherious!" Roubaul warned him.
"I won't, I just want to know about Curses." Ben remarked.
Roubaul nodded and let Ben keep the book. He knew that Ben always wanted to learn new things and knew Ben was very responsible. So there wouldn't be an issue if Ben kept and learned from the Book of Zeref.
"Ah, I almost forgot about the exam. You've passed, now you're one of our guild's S-Class mages. Congratulations." Roubaul applauded Ben's victory.
Ben also remembered that this was a S-Class exam. His mind was drawn to the Book of Zeref. After realizing he was a S-Class wizard, Ben was very happy.
"YEAH, FINALLY!" Ben shouted to the sky and raised his hands into the air.
Roubaul smiled and the barrier dome surrounding them was dispelled. They then return to the village while discussing the S-Class mage's responsibilities and jobs.
As the only S-Class wizard in the guild, Ben will be the face of their guild after the guild master. He will start to take difficult jobs that are very dangerous. The S-Class jobs are dangerous even for a team of S-Class wizards, but Ben will do it by himself.
"I can allow you to take Bella on your jobs, but you have to protect her. Don't involve her in the battle if it's too dangerous." Roubaul instructed.
"I know Gramps, I won't put Bella in danger. I'll prioritize our lives above the job, that's what I always do, right?" Ben asked him.
"Yeah, I know. It's just a reminder because from now on your jobs will be very different than the ones you've done before." Roubaul reminded him.
They kept talking until they arrived in the village. Everyone had been waiting for them and when Ben raised his hands in a victorious pose, they cheered loudly. Their guild finally had a S-Class mage, so everyone is happy.
The adults leave to prepare a party to celebrate Ben's promotion while he was being treated by Wendy in the guild hall. He didn't have a lot of injuries, even if Varg's attacks were very painful.
"So the Curse of Pain only made me feel hurt, but didn't do a lot of damage. It's messing with someone's nerves." Ben realized what really happened.
"That makes it even more dangerous. Taking too much damage can break your nerves and it also might slowly damage your brain." Roubaul added.
"That's very dangerous indeed." Ben shivered when he thought about it.
Brain damage is a lot more dangerous than damage to a body. It is difficult to be cured and in most cases are impossible to cure. That's why Ben shivered just imagining it.
Wendy healed him rather quickly. She had trained her healing magic a lot. She always used it on students every week after they sparred or went hunting with Ben. She also used it on him a lot when he returned from difficult jobs.
With much experience and training, Wendy's healing magic has become strong. She also kept training her Dragon Slayer magic to not lose to her friends. She is quite competitive now after befriending those kids.
After he was healed completely, Ben washed his body in the lake. He was sweating and had a lot of dirt on his body due to the battle. So he washed himself off to make himself look fresh for his celebration party.
Then that evening, they held a party to celebrate Ben's promotion to S-Class. Everyone enjoyed the party and played around near the campfire. A party is not unusual here, they celebrated every happy occasion. So everyone was good at parties because of that.
They partied for hours and many of them get wasted in the end. The wasted ones slept outside near the campfire and this included Roubaul.
The others ignored those who were wasted and return to their homes. Seeing people sleep outside after the party is common for the guild. So no one was surprised and left them alone.
"Those drunkards never change." Ben sighed as he left the plaza.
Ben returned to his house with Bella and they go to sleep immediately. The next day, he approached Roubaul to ask for a S-Class job but Roubaul didn't have one, so he was forced to wait for a few days.
Ben used that time to train himself for his first S-Class job. He trained like usual and also scanned the Book of Zeref. Ben was surprised when he received the results from A.I Chip.
"This book contains details on that Etherious, even his power and how strong he can be." Ben pondered.
He ignored it and continued focusing on the knowledge he received from A.I Chip's scan.
"If every book is like this, then how long did it take Zeref to create all those books? There must be thousands of these Etherious. That Zeref guy is a super genius and hard worker." Ben said.
He kept training and learning from the books for a week before he finally got an S-Class job. He is really excited now. This will be his first job as an S-Class mage.
