Ben finally returned to the village after the war between Fairy Tail and Phantom Lord concluded. He left after briefly meeting Mira. Now he was on the way back driving Light Runner. On the way back, Ben thought about Fairy Law.
"Hmm, from the name of the spell, I can guess it's derived from Law, a kind of Black Magic. That is very strong magic but very difficult to master. This Fairy Law seems to be a simplified version of it. But what's the connection between this spell and the feeling that I sensed?" Ben questioned himself.
Ben had A.I Chip analyze that spell but there's no result until now. He lacked sufficient data to analyze it. He had scanned the Law spell, but that alone wasn't enough. After all, he had never used or saw someone use Law directly.
"Well, let's not think about it too much. I can think about it slowly as there's no need to rush it. Everything has a process." Ben said as he drove faster.
After driving for 2 hours, Ben arrived in his village. His sisters welcomed him home excitedly even thought he had only been gone for a few days. He gave them some souvenirs he bought before going to meet Roubaul.
In the guild hall, Ben reported everything that had happened the last few days. Roubaul didn't talk much and just gave him some elderly advice before telling him to rest. This report was just a formality for both of them as a guild. As long as they return from their job safely, Roubaul wouldn't have a problem with anything else.
Following the old man's advice, Ben rested for the rest of the day. Then the next day, he initiated the plan to teach Wendy some important enchantments. She had a great talent for enchantment, so he needed to support it.
"Wendy, you have learned a few enchantments from Grandeeney. But those aren't good enough to make you a good enchanter. There are many enchantments in the world and you can even use any spell as an enchantment if you are skilled enough." Ben informed her.
"Eh? An spell can be used as an enchantment?" Wendy asked, confused.
"Yeah, as long as you understand that spell really well. You need to understand how it works, how's it built, every part of that spell." Ben replied.
Wendy was getting more confused, so Ben explained it slowly. It was easy for him as he had A.I Chip who can break down any spell he knew to it's basic details. He can understand everything with A.I Chip's help, but it would be harder for Wendy.
However, he believed in her potential to do the same thing in the future. She already displayed great talent for it, so she just needed guidance and support to grow. Wendy is still young, so she still had a lot of room to learn new things.
Since that day, Ben is focused on teaching Wendy about enchantments. He still trains, that's for sure because he trained every day. Also, he trains Wendy, Carla and Bella in combat a few hours a day while teaching Wendy about enchantments.
Wendy is 12 now, so per their guild's rule, she can go on jobs. That's why Ben needed to prepare her for it. Roubaul won't give her difficult jobs, but anything can happen while she's on a job, so he needed to prepare her for any situation.
Days and weeks passed with Ben busy teaching Wendy and the cats while also training himself. Wendy had gone on a few small jobs in nearby locations. They were just easy jobs to give her some experience.
All her jobs involved subduing monsters, just like Ben's usual jobs. Well, their guild was located in a forest and close to mountains, so the most common jobs were related to subduing monsters. Also, fighting monsters doesn't require as much consideration as fighting humans, so it was the best job for beginners like Wendy.
While she took jobs, Ben accompanied her as a supervisor. But he wouldn't get involved directly because these were Wendy and Carla's jobs. He is there to give her guidance and help out if something went wrong.
But so far, Wendy and Carla were handling their jobs well. Although as newbies, they make mistakes every once and a while, they could always solve it themselves. Ben was extremely satisfied with their results, be it individually or as a team.
Ben also went to Magnolia every weekend to meet and go on a date with Mira. They are still taking things easy with their relationship. The two just want to enjoy their time together at their own pace.
Also, Ben gave Mira some knowledge about Take Over Magic that he had scanned in the Magic Library. She really had great talent in Take Over and picked up everything Ben taught her quickly. What Ben taught now, Mira will be able to do it the following week.
It's different from Elfman who needs more time to learn. He is someone that relied on muscles more than the brain, so it's understandable. But once he succeeds, his progress will be fast, although it's not as fast as Mira.
During his visits to Magnolia, Ben also found out something irritating. Makarov didn't use the video record he gave him to save Fairy Tail. Well, Fairy Tail is exempt from punishment and Phantom Lord was disbanded, but it still pissed him off that Makarov didn't use the information he gave him.
Makarov told him that giving it to the Council will only make things worse for Fairy Tail. They have bad blood with the Council while Siegrain and Ultear are good members of the Council. The Council would be more likely to believe them than Fairy Tail.
Makarov showed it to his friend in the Magic Council. But that friend said that the chance of his video record being fake was extremely high. It will just cause more trouble for Fairy Tail and him, so it's better to hide it.
Besides, if Siegrain and Ultear found out their secret was revealed, they will be a lot more careful. If that happened, Makarov's friend wouldn't be able to launch a secret investigation to uncover their motives.
Ben can only accept that and leave it to the old men. It's not like he cared about issues in the Council. It's all politics and he didn't like it a bit. He won't trouble himself taking care of something he doesn't like.
That's why right now Ben just does what he wants to do. He trained his sisters and worked on his relationship with Mira. He also took a few jobs with Wendy. Of course, they weren't S-Class jobs so Wendy could get involved with them and learn from them.
Then in October, Mira invited him to attend the Fantasia Parade being held on October 15th. Unfortunately, Ben had a job that day, so he can't come to the parade. Mira was sad that she was too late to invite him as she wanted him to see her in the beauty contest.
"I'm sorry I'm not able to attend. I will make up for it in the future." Ben apologized through lacrima vision.
"Then you need to come next year, alright? What happened isn't your fault because I didn't tell you earlier. But next year you should come because I told you now." Mira said.
"Alright, I will. Good luck with the contest. Tell those who look at you with lewd eyes that I will poke their eyeballs out of their sockets." Ben said while smiling 'evilly'.
Mira giggled after hearing that and told him that she would do it before him. Their jokes will scare people if they heard them. They keep talking not knowing what they predicted will happen during the parade.
