Everyone was shocked to hear Gildarts failed his job.
Ben was also shocked by this revelation.
'Just how hard is this job? Even someone with 600 thousand magic power points couldn't complete it? Although magic power alone doesn't determine a mage's strength, it's still a big factor. What kind of enemy did he run into?' He thought.
Judging from Gildart's magic power, Ben knew he was strong as a Wizard Saint. He is stronger than Makarov, a Wizard Saint. So an enemy that someone like Gildarts couldn't defeat must be ridiculously strong.
'That enemy might be as strong as the 4 Gods of Ishgar or even stronger than them. Heh, I thought I was progressing really fast and becoming strong already. But I still have a long way to go. Gramps is right, I should never be satisfied with myself. The world is big and there will always be someone strongest than you.' Ben thought with a smile.
Gildarts then left the guild because he wanted to rest. He told Natsu to come to his place as he walked towards a wall. Ben is now 100% certain Gildarts is an idiot when he destroyed the wall just to leave the guild. Then another idiot joined him as Natsu destroyed the wall as well because he didn't want to lose.
"Master, I think you need to hire someone to teach them common sense." Ben sighed.
"I will do it if it will work." Makarov said with a resigned expression.
"You're tried it already, huh? Now I'm worried about this guild's future." Ben muttered.
The party continued even with the big hole in the wall. They were used to this sort of thing because it happened all the time in the past, so they didn't mind a hole in the wall. But the 11 new recruits were troubled by it even though they didn't say anything.
"Don't worry, you'll get used to it soon." Ben told them.
"I don't know if this is something to get used to." Mina admitted as she looked at the guys fighting in the middle of the guild hall and the others cheered them on.
"Heh, that's what I thought at first too. Anyway, you have become quite famous, right? So I think you've become quite strong too. Let's check your progress tomorrow so you can rest." Ben stated.
The 11 teens grin after they hear that.
"Heh, don't underestimate us, Ben-nii. We're not the same kids that couldn't even manage to hit you in the past. So you better be careful tomorrow." Yorki said.
"Quite cheeky now, huh?" Ben smirked at the challenge.
The next day, they met up behind the guild to spar. Ben would face all 11 alone while everyone else watched. Wendy cheered for the 11 teens but her cheer was quite strange.
"Good luck you guys. Don't get hurt too much." Wendy said.
"Do you want to cheer them on or not?" Carla asked, sweat dropping.
"Let me join too." Natsu said.
"Stop it! This is not a fight you can join just because you want to." Erza yelled as she grabbed Natsu's collar.
"A fight, huh? It's really good to be young. Are they new members?" Gildarts asked.
"That's right, all 12 are new recruits but they knew each other prior to joining Fairy Tail and want to test their strength." Mira answered.
"But 1 vs 11? Isn't that unfair?" Gildarts asked.
"Don't worry about it. I doubt those 11 will be able to do much." Makarov remarked.
Gildarts was a little surprised and more intrigued. The audience stopped talking and looked at the fighters intensely.
Ben cracked his neck.
"Are you ready?" He asked.
"Yes." All 11 teens replied.
"Come on then." Ben taunted them with his finger.
All 11 immediately make their move and attack Ben with their magic.
They spread out and some of them attack Ben with long-range spells first. Ben looked the incoming attacks and uncovered a gap between them. He smirked because he knew it was a trap but he wanted to see what they would do.
Ben evaded the attacks by using the gap between them but 3 close-range fighters were waiting for him. Mina, Parka and Felice attack him from 3 different directions at the same time. He smirked and effortlessly evaded their attacks.
"You're certainly progressing, but it's not good enough." Ben said while calmly evading their attacks.
"I wouldn't say that if I were you." Parka smirked.
Suddenly, Ben heard a flute and felt his body stiffen. He looked at Olive who was standing behind Dito while playing her flute. She used her Sound Magic to stop Ben's movements so her friends could attack him.
The 3 close-range fighters attack Ben again and 2 boys joined them now. Ron and Yorki can fight at close and long range, so they now help the 3 that were attacking Ben at close range. They knew it wouldn't be easy to fight Ben even with the help of Olive's magic.
As predicted, it wasn't easy for them as Ben was still able to move even though he was affected by the Sound Magic. He caught Ron and Parka's fists before throwing them over to Mina and Felice. Then he evaded Yorki's punch and kicked him in the stomach.
Ben handled the 5 of them while being hindered by the Sound Magic and without even using his magic. He was strong enough to tolerate the Sound Magic's effect. If it was raw physical strength, Ben is confident that he is stronger than anyone in Fairy Tail, even Gildarts.
"Ben-nii, can't you take this seriously and use your magic?" Ron demanded.
"Then make me use it. If you are this strong then there's no reason for me to use my magic." Ben smirked.
"Fine then. Olive, let's use formation 6." Yorki remarked.
Olive nods and plays her flute again. Ben thought it was going to affect him again, but it didn't. The magic affected her allies and enhanced their power 2x. Ben grinned after seeing it and taunted them again.
They start to attack him together again and they display great teamwork. The group used many attack variations that are very hard to predict. They combine close and long-range attacks in strange manners. Their attack combinations would hit their allies if their teamwork was not good enough.
Those attacks would surely work on others but not Ben. His reflexes and senses were too good for their unusual attacks so he can always handle them even in a very short time. He still hadn't used his magic even after their enchantment wore off after 5 minutes and they were exhausted.
"Damn, you are still a monster." Ron said.
"Oi oi oi, I am a human you know." Ben countered.
"*pant pant* So we are still not strong enough to make you use your magic, huh?" Yorki asked.
"That's not exactly true. I still need to use my magic to defeat you." Ben argued.
"There's no need to lie, Ben-nii. We know you don't need it to fight us." Hans replied.
"I'm not lying. I can see through your illusions and Olive's Sound Magic because of my magic sense." Ben informed him.
"That's just a passive ability, so it doesn't count. We want you to use a non-passive ability to fight us." Dan insisted.
"So be it." Ben nodded as he lifted his right hand that was covered in a dark purple aura in front of him.
*SWISH* *BAM BAM BAM*
Suddenly, all 11 fell to the ground as the gravity around them increased 10 times. They try to lift their bodies and only some of them can move. Ben then increased the gravity to 15 times and now no one can move at all.
"So?" Ben asked.
"We admit defeat." Yorki said as he had a hard time moving his mouth.
Ben stopped his attack and all 11 are panting and sweating hard. The audience could see that they were strong, but Ben is stronger than all of them combined. The gap between them was too long.
Gildarts grinned and rubbed his chin. "Interesting."
