"What did you want to discuss?" Lisanna asked after she and Ben leave the building.
"Which one are you?" Ben asked.
"Eh? What do you mean?" Lisanna was confused by his question.
"Are you their Lisanna or our Lisanna? Which one are you?" Ben continued asking.
"I-I don't understand what you mean." Lisanna stammered.
"I've been living with illusions for the last 7 years and I have rather keen senses. That's why I'm used to souls and can sense them somehow. I can feel if something is wrong with someone's soul and I feel it with you." Ben explained.
Lisanna's eyes widened before she sighed.
"I really can't hide it from you, huh? Not you or Edolas Ben. Alright, I'll tell you the truth first. I am Edolas Lisanna but I am also Earthland Lisanna." She said. Ben frowned.
"Explain." He ordered.
2 years ago after Elfman lost control of his Take-Over and almost hit Lisanna, Ben successfully stopped him. Lisanna should be fine, but then something happened and she lost her soul. Her body was fine but they couldn't find her soul.
Unbeknownst to anyone else, Lisanna's soul was sucked up by an Anima. If Ben didn't use his magic, then her body would have also been sucked up because Anima sucked up magic power and her body is full of magic power.
Right when she was sucked into the Anima, Edolas Lisanna was on the verge of death. Her soul was withdrawn to Edolas Lisanna and entered her body. It saved Edolas Lisanna but it also caused a problem for the two.
"Edolas Lisanna's soul was damaged when she almost died. It took time for the soul to recover fully and she finally recovered a few months ago. There wasn't a problem when her soul was damaged, but when she recovered, that's when the trouble started." Lisanna explained.
Her body and mind can't handle 2 perfect souls at once. It will cause her to have a split personality like Brain and Zero sooner or later. But it's a lot more dangerous for Lisanna because they're 2 different souls while Brain and Zero were the same person with one soul.
One soul will eventually need to be removed or Lisanna's mind and body will break. The problem is that removing one soul meant killing that soul. Also, even if they want it, they can't do it with the magic and technology available in Edolas.
"Actually, Edolas Ben left a few months ago to find a solution to the problem. Edolas Lisanna and I told him he doesn't need to worry about because we've accepted our fate. But he didn't listen and left anyway. Right now, we feel guilty because we are putting him in danger." Lisanna sadly said.
"He is your guild master, right? That must mean he is strong." Ben asked.
"He is the strongest person in our guild. Even without using any magic, he can handle a captain of the Royal Army alone. If he uses his magic item, then he can handle all captains of the Royal Army for a while. That's why the kingdom put out a very high bounty for his capture." Lisanna informed him.
"Heh, as I expected from my other self." Ben smirked.
"But even he won't be able to defeat the kingdom alone. That's why everyone is worried because there has been no news at all from him during this time." Lisanna said.
"If he can do all of that then he will be just fine, you need to believe in him. What you need to worry about is yourself. Fortunately, I might have a method to save you without damaging either of your souls." Ben said.
"Really?! How?!" Lisanna asked, surprised.
"By utilizing Seith Magic to take one of your souls. But I haven't practiced it even though I know it, so I need time. Besides, I can't use the raw Seith Magic, it needs to modified for this specific purpose. It will be easier if Bickslow was here because he is a Seith Magic user, so I need to find him." Ben explained.
Lisanna smiled.
"You don't need to rush it or force yourself to do it. We won't blame you if you fail." She said.
"I will blame myself if I fail to save you. I don't want Mira and Elfman to feel what I felt, so I'll make sure to save you." Ben said while rubbing Lisanna's hair.
Lisanna smiled.
"Both you and Edolas Ben really like to rub people's hair. I guess not everyone is too different huh?" She said.
"Hah, not too different? I am far stronger than my Edolas counterpart, so we are different." Ben said smugly.
Lisanna laughed and then told Ben to be careful before leaving for the capital. He needs to find his guild mates and mostly importantly Mystogan. That guy seems to know a lot about what had happened.
"Ugh, but I never met him so I don't know what he looks like. How should I find him? Also, I am a criminal in this kingdom, so I can't blatantly move around the capital." Ben said while he drove to the capital.
While he drove to the capital, Ben asked A.I Chip to modify the Seith Magic to save Lisanna. He is really glad he went on a year long journey to find the Magic Library. It would be a lot more difficult, maybe even impossible to save Lisanna if he didn't go on this journey.
"I'm glad I scanned all Black Magic and even Black and White Arts that are recorded in the Magic Library. These types of magic involve souls, so they can be used to help Lisanna." Ben said.
2 hours later, Ben drove into a forest that was close to the capital. He didn't use the road because magic vehicles are only used by mages or rich people. Use of magic is prohibited, so he needs to avoid being seen by people.
A few minutes later, someone blocked his path and pointed a black double-bladed spear at him. He sighed and wanted to confront the robber but raised an eyebrow when he looked at the robber carefully.
"What a coincidence." Ben said as he stepped out of his car.
"I don't want to hurt you, so hand over your vehicle." The robber demanded.
"Are you sure you want to rob yourself." Ben replied.
"Huh? What do you-?" The robber was confused but then his jaw dropped in surprise.
"EH!? Y-YOU, HOW-?" The robber said in shock.
"Well, why don't we talk for a moment, my Edolas counterpart." Ben said.
Yes, the robber is none other than Edolas Ben who has the exact same face as Ben. Of course, Edolas Ben was surprised because he didn't know anything about that. He was now wary because he assumed the Earthland Ben was an impostor.
"I know what you're thinking, but I am not an impostor." Ben said.
"As if I'll believe that so easily." Edolas Ben rolled his eyes.
"Then let's talk like this for now so you will believe me. This distance is safe enough, so if one of us attacks, the other can easily dodge it. Okay?" Ben suggested.
"Hmm, fine." Edolas Ben said. He was still holding his black double-bladed spear, cautious.
Ben sighed before he started to explain who he is and what happened to him. Edolas Ben listened carefully while trying to find out if Ben was honest. In the end, Edolas Ben found no indication Ben was lying.
"Convinced now?" Ben asked.
"Almost. I know about Earthland and Anima, but I can't be sure you're actually from Earthland. If that's really the case, show me you can use magic without a magic item." Edolas Ben said.
"No problem." He produced a flame on his hand.
Edolas Ben's jaw dropped again but now he definitely believed the Earthland Ben.
"Alright, I'm 100% convinced." Edolas Ben said as he placed his spear into a holster on his back.
"Great, now we can work together." Ben grinned excitedly.
