Ben and co find themselves in a forest near Magnolia. They see the town that they know really well and were happy. Ben checked the Ethernano density in the atmosphere to make sure they returned to Earthland.
"We've finally returned. Mira, is the wood containing the soul alright?" Ben asked her.
"Yeah, I still have it." Mira presented the wood to him.
Ben touched the wood and felt Lisanna's soul inside it, so it was fine. Everyone cheered happily and Bella hugged the 3 Exceed Rangers who were confused by the situation. It seems they've told Bella they were her family before the Reverse Anima was activated.
"W-why are we here?" A confused Moza asked.
"That's right, why are they here?" Natsu asked. He and the others were equally confused.
"I told you that the Reverse Anima was sending all the magic power from Edolas to Earthland. So all beings with magic power inside their bodies will also be sent here, including the Exceeds. If it only affects the natives of Earthland, then Bella, Carla and Happy would be left there too because they originated from Edolas." Ben explained.
"Ooh." Everyone nodded in understanding.
"Wait! Then that means-" Carla couldn't finish her sentence when suddenly a lot of Exceeds come out of the bushes.
The 3 Exceed Rangers immediately get between the mages and Exceeds, ready to fight. They were still angry with the queen and her subordinates for sending their 2nd child away 6 years ago. The 3 of them weren't going to let the queen take Bella away again.
But the queen looked down in guilt and so did her subordinates. Carla and the 3 Exceed Rangers don't care though and they were angry with them. A white Exceed also got angry with the queen's group and Moza knew him because this Exceed was exiled just like him.
The queen's group remained silent and then Wendy tried to calm them down. She said that they needed to hear the queen's explanation first before doing anything. The angry Exceeds stop and at least agree to hear the queen out.
Then with a guilty expression, the queen explained the reason for sending all the eggs away 6 years ago. She said it was for a mission to kill the Dragon Slayers, but that was a lie. Her real intention was to save the children because she had a vision of the future regarding Extalia's destruction.
She couldn't reveal the truth so she planned all those scenarios with her subordinates. It all went well, but they never expected Carla to have precognition like queen Shagotte.
Carla's precognition was still imperfect though and that caused her to think about the mission. If Carla's precognition wasn't imperfect, she would have been able to figure out that the mission was fake.
The queen and her subordinates apologized to everyone there. Then the other Exceeds also apologized because they realized they were too full of themselves over the years. They never thought they would nearly go extinct.
After Carla accepted the apologies with persuasion from the others, the Exceed decide to leave and find the other children. But before leaving, queen Shagotte hugged Carla. Ben knew that she was Carla's mother, but she doesn't say anything, so he let her be.
'She must've felt very guilty now, so I won't force her to say anything. Besides, Carla is smart enough to realize this. She just won't admit it.' Ben thought with a smile.
The white Exceed approached Happy with a female blue Exceed. He didn't need to think too much and Ben knew that they were Happy's parents. It seems the Exceeds' instinct is strong enough to know if they are blood family.
After that, the Exceeds leave to find a new place to stay and find the other children. Bella's family also joined them for this mission. Although they are reluctant to leave Bella again, she has Ben, Wendy and Carla, so she will be fine.
"We will visit you every once and a while, so don't worry. Keep that costume, alright? That is the proof you are an Exceed Ranger." Moza said as they have a family hug.
Bella nodded and Ben assured them that he will take care of her. They smiled and leave with the other Exceeds. The mages bid farewell to them as they fly away.
They were just about to return to Magnolia when another Exceed suddenly appeared. It was a small black Exceed and Ben was surprised to see it. He could tell from his magic power that it was Panther Lily.
"You're Panther Lily? How did you become small?" Ben asked.
"What?! That's Lily?" Gajeel exclaimed, surprised.
"That's right, I am Lily. Actually, I want to join the guild where the prince stayed before. Am I allowed to?" Lily asked.
Gajeel suddenly grabbed and hugged Lily while crying. "Of course you're allowed, partner."
"H-he's crying." Lucy commented.
After that, they drive back to Magnolia in Ben's car. It wasn't too far, but taking a car was faster than walking on foot. Ben took them to the guild and their guild mates wanted to know what happened.
"I'll fill you in later. We have something important to do. Elfman, Wendy, follow me. You can join us as well, Carla. Also master, can you join us please." Ben told his guild mates.
Everyone is confused so they look at Makarov, who nods. Ben, Makarov, Mira, Elfman, Wendy and Carla then leave the guild hall. The others wanted to follow them but Erza stopped them from leaving because it must be important. Besides they wanted to know what happened and Natsu and co can explain it to them.
"Where are we going?" Elfman asked.
"Hospital. It's time." Ben answered.
Elfman and Makarov's eyes widened as they have an idea what they will do. Although they weren't completely certain. But they hope they are correct and Lisanna can be saved.
A few minutes later, they enter Lisanna's room. Visiting hours were over, but they can enter easily with Makarov's help. As a guild master, this was more than enough to allow hospital staff to let them see her.
"Mira, hand me the woodblock please." Ben said.
She gave him the woodblock containing Lisanna's soul to him. Then Ben asked Wendy to check on Lisanna's condition and cast Heal on hear. Even if she is fine, laying in a hospital bed for 2 years probably weakened her body.
Wendy was able to restore her body to normal with it, that's the reason Ben asked her to do so. Ben helped Wendy develop her magic, so all her spells, including Heal, are really powerful now.
After Wendy finished healing her, Ben immediately used the Soul Extractor spell again. He shouldn't leave Lisanna's soul in the woodblock too long otherwise her soul would be damaged. So he removed her soul from the woodblock and inserted it into her body.
Her soul entered her body without any issue and everyone waited anxiously. Soon, one of her fingers moved and then she opened her eyes. Lisanna looked at them and smiled before calling her siblings names.
Mira and Elfman are overjoyed and hug Lisanna while crying. Ben pulled them back a little and warned them not to hug her too tightly. They nod and hug Lisanna again but not as hard this time.
The others smile seeing this scene and they were happy that Lisanna finally recovered. Ben called for the doctors and nurses to check on Lisanna's condition. The doctor and nurses were surprised and confused but still check on her condition.
After checking her body, the doctor determined she was okay and could even leave the hospital now. So they choose to let her leave, but they take her home for now. They will take her to the guild tomorrow because it was late.
The next day, they bring Lisanna to the guild and everyone else was overjoyed with her recovery. They want to hug Lisanna but Elfman punched them all away. Then they hold a party for everything that happened in this short time frame.
