The day after he returned from the Council with Makarov, Ben started to take jobs. The exam would take place in a month and he is a new member, so he needed to move fast because he hadn't taken a quest since he joined the guild. The others who joined before him have finished a lot more jobs in this guild.

But the other young mages also have a similar plan because they also want to be S-Class mages. Only the older members didn't take jobs because they think they are too old to be S-Class mages. So now, there weren't many jobs on the request board.

There wasn't a issue because there were still jobs to be completed. Not every job was placed on the board. As the strongest guild in Fiore, many jobs were sent to them. But the board wasn't big enough to contain all those papers.

Many jobs were stacked like a thick book and the mages often overlook them. It's because these jobs aren't as urgent as the ones on the board and the rewards are low sometimes. Those jobs were often completed by other guilds, so not that many people want to take a risk by taking them.

But that didn't matter to Ben because he just needed to complete a lot of jobs. Even if other guilds take it, he just needs to return and take other jobs. Besides, the guild's receptionist can always check if the job had been completed by another guild or not.

Currently, Mira was working as the receptionist. She had been doing it as a part-time job since the incident with Lisanna. By becoming a receptionist, she'll have more income and also gain access to more information.

She hoped to find information on the method to cure Lisanna by becoming a receptionist. Now Lisanna had been cured, but she continued doing this job. It's because she liked this job and she wants to fill her time while she doesn't take any jobs.

Ben looked at the job list and scanned them all with A.I Chip. He flipped through the papers fast, confusing Mira because it looked like he doesn't read the jobs seriously. But she just let him be and watched as he flipped through all the papers.

'A.I Chip, find the jobs with a similar purpose that can be taken at once.' Ben instructed in his mind.

'So, 6 jobs at once, huh? Nice.' Ben thought.

Since joining Fairy Tail, Ben found out more about the job system. Sometimes, there will be similar jobs that can be finished at once. They came from different clients, so they become different jobs.

Mages don't usually look at the jobs thoroughly and just think of the ones with high rewards or the ones that aren't too difficult for them. If Ben didn't have A.I Chip, he might also miss this fact and take whatever he likes first.

"I'll take these jobs." Ben said as he placed 6 papers on the table.

"Eh? 6 jobs at once. You can't do that, Ben. It is not allowed because it might cause problems." Mira revealed.

"That's not exactly true. Multiple jobs can completed at the same time." Ryu corrected her while heading to the doors with a job in his hand. Before leaving, he took a closer look at Ben's jobs. "Besides, all those jobs involve the same thing."

Mira raised an eyebrow and checked the jobs. She was surprised to find out Ryu was right, they did involve the same thing and could be completed at once. But she still wasn't sure it was allowed, so she decided to go to Makarov's office and ask him. When she came back, there was a surprised expression on her face and she said that Makarov allowed it.

"What did he say?" Ben asked as he kept the papers.

"He said that it's not against the rules as long as the job is really the same. Being able to find these similarities is also important to a mage. He also said that many jobs can be completed at once for a very long time. When I asked why they didn't make them a single job, he said that we need to figure them out ourselves. Besides, different clients mean different jobs. Finding the same jobs will show our skills as mages he said." Mira explained.

"Heh, it seems the guild is testing it's members every day." Ben smirked.

After registering the jobs, Ben left the guild to complete them. He just took Bella with him and not Wendy and Carla. Those two will go on their own job as training to be independent. Besides, he needed to be fast in order to take more jobs soon.

Ben and Bella drive towards a forest to the east. They arrive in a village at the border of the forest in a hour and meet the village chief who issued the job to confirm it. After getting the confirmation, they go to find the Manticore in the forest.

With Ben's tracking ability, they can quickly find the Manticore. They didn't just find one Manticore, they found 2. The 2 Manticores were male and female that are in the middle of a mating session right now.

Ben felt bad for them, but he still had jobs to complete. He increased the gravity around the 2 beasts and they were pinned down instantly. They are just A-Class creatures so they were no match for Ben's magic.

He didn't kill them immediately but he did put them to sleep. Then he hanged their hind legs on a high tree branch before killing them by cutting their torsos right down the middle. He had a job for their pelts, so he needed to be careful with his method to kill them.

After that, he took their blood and put it in bottles before he took their eyes and tail. Then he skinned them and put everything in storage. After obtaining everything he needed, he returned to the village.

Ben completed the job to subdue the Manticores, so now he moved to meet the other clients and complete the other jobs. He finished all 6 jobs in 4 hours and then returned to the guild. The clients even give him a bonus because he got 2 Manticores and they want to take the other one too.

Mira was speechless when he returned with all the jobs completed in a few hours. She was surprised when Ben took some more jobs that could be completed at once. Now he only got 3 jobs, but it was better than a single job.

Ben keeps taking jobs every day and so do the others that want to join the S-Class exam. But he took more jobs than the others because he always takes a few jobs at once while the others only take one job at a time.

However, that can't continue forever because the week prior to the exam, he can only get at most 2 jobs that are the same. He was fine with it because he completed more jobs than anyone else these last 3 weeks. So he kept taking jobs and finally the day came.

Today, everyone gathered in the guild and Makarov stood on the stage with Gildarts, Erza and Mira. Ryu sat on the edge of the stage a few feet away. Makarov will announce the names of the ones who are qualified to compete in the S-Class Exam. Everyone is anticipating this and waiting for Makarov's announcement.

Makarov gave a small speech before he announced the participants' names, "Natsu Dragneel, Gray Fullbuster, Juvia Lockser, Elfman Strauss, Cana Alberona, Freed Justine, Levy McGarden and Mest Gryder."

The participants are cheering while Ben slumped down dejectedly and all color left his body. An imaginary black cloud and rain even appear above him. He had worked very hard since last month and hasn't slept much, but he still failed. Wendy, Bella and Carla cheered him up, but this still made him more pitiful.

Makarov saw this and smirked, "That's a good reaction. I feel really bad for him, but his reaction is priceless."
