Mira looked at Cana awkwardly.
"C-Cana, I didn't know you like older men." She said.
"!? I DON'T!" Cana snapped.
"It's okay, Cana. Loving someone isn't a sin, age is just a number." Mira replied.
"LIKE I SAID, I DON'T! YOU'VE GOT THE WRONG IDEA! HE'S MY FATHER!" Cana shouted.
"So you like that kind of play." Ben said.
"WE DON'T!" Gildarts and Cana shouted.
Cana then explained that she was Gildarts' daughter. But he had no idea she was his daughter because Cana's mother left him when she was pregnant. He didn't know she was pregnant, so he didn't know he had a daughter.
Cana came to Fairy Tail after her mother passed away a few years ago. She came to find her father but she couldn't tell him the truth after knowing that he was a very strong mage. She thought she needed to be strong in order to tell Gildarts the truth.
"Is that the reason you put Lucy to sleep and went to find 1st master's grave?" Ben asked with a serious tone.
"Yeah. I was desperate at that time because I thought I need to be a S-Class this year. But after I found the grave, I realized that I was being stupid." Cana said.
Ben clicked his tongue.
"You really are stupid. I don't know why you thought you needed to be a S-Class mage just to be his daughter. But you must have your own reasons and I won't meddle in it. The problem is you abandoned your comrade in a dangerous situation." He said.
"How could Lucy protect herself if she was unconscious? And why did you think that we will promote someone that endangered her comrade to S-Class? Furthermore, the exam was on hold, so even if you found the grave, it wouldn't mean a thing. This is driving me crazy." Ben sighed in annoyance.
Cana looked down at the ground.
"Sorry." She apologized.
"Ben, Cana has learned her lesson, so please forgive her." Gildarts begged.
Ben clicked his tongue once again.
"You're in no position to request that. All of this was caused by you, so you're the one to blame." He said.
Ben went on a rant and scolded Gildarts who was very irresponsible to the point his wife left him. Gildarts can't refute his words and can only listen like a kid being scolded by his parents. He sits on his knees while Ben scolded him and the others giggle from the side.
Ben is a family man, so he is very concerned about this. He knew Cana must've felt lonely for years because she could see her father but couldn't be with him. It reminded him of Wendy who often cried when she missed her dragon parent, Grandeeney.
After venting his frustration, Ben walked away from the lake to give Cana and Gildarts time to talk. Ben and Mira walk along the path while discussing their previous battles. Along the way, Ryu accompanied them. They talked about the continuation of the exam and who might become a S-Class mage if it continued.
While the trio walk back to camp, Ryu suddenly looked up towards the sky.
"What's up?" Mira asked her guild mate.
"I don't know what it is, but something's quickly approaching Tenrou Island and it doesn't feel pleasant." Ryu stated.
"Let's return to the camp immediately." Ben added.
He teleported himself, Mira and Ryu back to camp. They met up with Makarov and told the old man about what Ryu just felt. Laxus, who had been listening to the conversation, told them that he also felt it before which was why he came to the island.
"Do you know what it is?" Makarov asked Ben.
"No, but I feel like it's something none of us can handle. We need to leave this island now." Ben said with a serious tone.
"Alright, let's gather everyone up and leave. A premonition from a S-Class mage isn't something that we can ignore." Makarov said.
Ben and Laxus agree, so they immediately move to gather everyone. But it was too late because the source of the ominous feeling was here. Now everyone else can feel it and they see what caused the ominous feeling.
Ben's eyes widened at what he saw.
"A black dragon?! Acnologia?!" He exclaimed.
Everyone else was surprised to see a black dragon in the skies above Tenrou Island. The dragon descended quickly and then lands on the island roaring loudly. Gildarts, Cana, Natsu, Happy and Lucy also return to camp after seeing the dragon descend.
"DAMN, WHY IS IT HERE?!" A surprised Gildarts shouted.
"You know what that is?" Cana asked.
"It's the reason I failed the 100 Year Quest and also why I lost a arm and leg." Gildarts said with a grave tone.
The others were surprised to hear that but Natsu was hopeful. He called out to the black dragon and asked if it knew Igneel's whereabouts after approaching it. But suddenly, Ben teleported behind him and slammed his head into the ground.
"DON'T DO ANYTHING STUPID, NATSU! DO YOU WANT TO KILL US ALL?" Ben angrily asked.
"But Igneel-" Natsu said persistently.
"If this guy knew where Igneel was, Igneel would be dead right now. This black dragon killed numerous dragons in the past. It's recorded in the Book of the Apocalypse. He's known as the Dragon King, Acnologia. If he knew Igneel's location, then he will hunt Igneel down instead of come here." Ben informed him.
Natsu clenched his fists but then he became silent so Ben released him. They all look at Acnologia, not knowing why he came here. But they knew it wasn't good because they can feel hostility emanating from Acnologia.
*ROAR*
Acnologia roared and swiped at the ground with his front leg. The ground was destroyed and the rubble flew towards them at high speed. They run away to avoid being hit by the rubble.
Ben escaped as well with Wendy, Bella and Carla in his hands. He picked them before running away as fast as he could. That was a extremely strong attack, so he couldn't let it hit his sisters.
The others escaped as well because they kept their guard up from the beginning. So when Acnologia moved, they immediately moved too. They all know the difference in their strength and they can only run away.
Makarov then ordered everyone to escape while he will hold Acnologia here. Some of them were reluctant to leave Makarov by himself. But the S-Class mages who knew the risks forced the others to leave.
Ben told them to hold each other's hands. After they did it, he teleported to the coastline where they landed when the exam started. Their ship was there, so they can leave immediately.
After they escaped, Makarov transformed into a giant and fought Acnologia. His strength was increased tremendously. But it still wasn't enough to match Acnologia's strength and Makarov was overpowered.
Makarov was knocked down and Acnologia stepped on him. Acnologia roared and got ready to attack again, but suddenly his face was hit by a sharp golden slash. The attack forced him to release Makarov.
Makarov looked for the source of the attack. Ben stood there with Pendragon that was covered in golden fire. He teleported back after telling the others to leave.
"BEN! WHAT ARE YOU DOING HERE?" Makarov asked.
"Helping you buy time. We need more time for the others to escape, so I will help you fight." Ben answered.
"What are you saying? You also need to escape." Makarov pointed out.
"I can escape whenever I want, but the others can't. They need more time to do that. I will help you buy time and then escape with you."
Makarov gritted his teeth but accepted his help because Ben was right. No one else in Fairy Tail was as fast as he was. If Ben can't escape, then no one can. That's why Makarov allowed Ben to stay and fight.
