"NO WAY! LIES! YOU'RE LYING!" Mira shouted after hearing Porlyusica's explanation about what happened. Bella cries while punching Porlyusica's legs because she also thought the old woman was lying.
"Why would I lie to you? I don't have any reason to lie. You can go to the guild and ask everyone about it. They'll say the same thing." Porlyusica told them.
Mira slumped down weakly and tears flow from her eyes. Bella cried even louder and then Mira cried with her. Porlyusica has a sad expression on her face and hugged the two girls to calm them down even a little bit.
They cry for over an hour until they get tired and fall asleep. Porlyusica can't lift Mira so she just covered her with a blanket. As for Bella, she was light enough for Porlyusica to lift her back to her bed.
The next day, Mira woke up and locked herself in her room. Bella stayed by Ben's side and refused to leave him because she is afraid that she will lose him too. Both girls are depressed and Mira even refuses to eat.
She has just lost her siblings because she failed to protect them. After what happened to Lisanna, she has trained to get a lot stronger because she didn't want the same thing to happen twice. But now she failed again and this time she lost both of her siblings along with her friends.
Mira kept crying in her room and refused to come out or let anyone enter. She doesn't even want to eat anything that Porlyusica had prepared. At least Bella wanted to eat even if it was just a little, so the old lady isn't too stressed.
After 2 days, Mira still hadn't come out of her room or touched her food. Porylusica finally had enough and she broke into the room by breaking the door. This surprised Mira as she sat on the bed with a haggard and pale expression.
"THAT IS ENOUGH, YOUNG LADY! I KNOW THAT YOU ARE VERY SAD BUT YOU SHOULDN'T HURT YOURSELF LIKE THIS! YOU CAN CRY AS LONG AS YOU WANT, BUT EAT YOUR FOOD AT LEAST! IF YOU WANT TO STARVE YOURSELF TO DEATH DO IT SOMEWHERE ELSE! DON'T DO IT IN MY HOUSE!" Porlyusica angrily yelled.
Then without waiting for Mira's response, she leaves the room. The surprised Mira moved to follow her but then she stopped at the door and saw a tray beside the door. There's a plate of food and a glass of water on the tray. Porylusica had prepared it before she barged in.
Mira's eyes get watery again and she finally took the food and beverage. She closed the door and sometime later, she put the empty tray in front of the door again. Mira finally ate something after not eating anything for 3 days.
The next day, Mira finally came out of her room even though her expression was still not very good. She was dazed and sometimes looked outside for a few minutes without saying anything. 4 days wasn't enough to soothe her heart.
On the 5th day, Porlyusica called for Mira to talk to her. They talk in the backyard where Porlyusica grew some flowers. She hopes it would calm Mira a little while they talked.
"Mira, this must be very hard for you. I don't know how you feel but I understand it a little. I don't have siblings like you but I have people who are very close to me too. Makarov is one of them. I have lost many of them during my life but at least I still had Makarov. But now, even he finally left me alone, so I don't have anyone close with me." Porlyusica said.
Mira just looked down and didn't say anything. Her brain and rationally know that she shouldn't be depressed for too long and move on. Her siblings wouldn't like to see her like this because it will just make them sad.
But her heart and feelings just can't move on from her grief and sadness. She also kept feeling guilty because she failed to protect her siblings. They have been by themselves since their parents passed away and as the oldest, she is responsible for her siblings.
She has worked hard for them and promised to always protect them. But she failed to protect Lisanna 2 years ago and almost lost her. Lisanna was saved and she thought it would be fine from then on. But now this happened and she lost both Elfman and Lisanna.
"You are an adult, so I know you understand what you need to do. I won't say anything about that because I can't do anything either. Only you can overcome that by yourself. It's just that I want you to know that you still have others with you. There's me, Bella, the other Fairy Tail mages and there is still Ben." Porlyusica said.
"Ben!? How is he?" Mira asked as she finally remembered Ben wasn't in good shape.
"You finally say something. I will be honest, his condition is still very bad. I've done what I can but it's not enough and I don't know what to do anymore. I will need time and more knowledge to help him. Also, I need help to do this. That's why, if you don't want to lose him too, you need to get a hold of yourself and help me treat him." Porylusica said.
Then the two heard what sounded like a staff twirling in the air.
Porlyusica looked around the backyard and spotted someone approaching them.
"Hello Porlyusica, Mira." The figure greeted the two.
"Kenshin." Porylusica greeted the figure back. "What are you doing here?"
"The Council told me about what happened on Tenrou Island. I just got back from a 6 month S-Class job in another country. I've been spending that time acquiring more knowledge and also learning a lot about our newest member." Kenshin filled them in on his whereabouts.
Mira's eyes widened because she finally knew Ben's condition was very grave. She had locked herself in her room for the last three days, so she doesn't know anything about Ben's condition. That's why she was surprised when she finally found out.
She immediately went to Ben's room hastily after finding out. When she opened the door, she saw Ben who was lying unconscious with Bella sleeping beside him. Mira approached Ben and stood beside his bed. Kenshin came into the room as well to inspect him.
She looked at him with tears coming down her face because she can see his body had taken a lot of damage. It's the first time she had seen him injured to this extent. To her, he is invincible and will always be fine even if he lost a battle.
She believed that even Gildarts can't match Ben when it comes to survival. But by surviving, she never meant to be barely alive like this. His current condition is the same as not surviving, just barely hanging onto his life.
Mira wanted to touch him, but Porylusica held her back. Ben's body is really sensitive and touching the wrong area would cause him more pain which is why Porlyusica was the only one allowed to touch him because she is his doctor.
Mira just sat next to his bed while crying silently to avoid waking Bella up. But Bella still woke up and when she saw Mira, she immediately jumped into her arms while crying. Mira's eyes widened before she embraced Bella and both of them cry.
"Mira, Ben!" Bella exclaimed.
"I know, Bella, I know. Ben is hurt, but he will be fine. Grandma Porlyusica will heal him, we just need to wait." Mira said.
"Wendy, Carla." Bella cried louder.
"It's okay. Elfman and Lisanna are with them, so they will be fine." Mira said as calmly as she could even though she was crying as well.
Mira's heart was also in pain right now but she still tried to calm Bella down. Bella is still young and she needs to go through something like this. Mira also went through something similar when her parents died when she was very young.
At that time, she really needed someone to be by her side. So now she will be there for Bella because Bella was also there for her when she lost her siblings. She needs to be strong for Bella even though she was in pain too.
They are hugging while crying for a rather long time until they are satisfied. Then they look at Ben with sad expressions. They ask Porylusica when he will wake up but she had no idea.
"I don't know when he will wake up, but I will do my best to make it happen soon. For now, you two need to go outside and get some fresh air. Staying inside for too long isn't good for your body." Porlyusica said.
It then dawned on Kenshin.
"From what I understand about him currently, he absorbs sunlight, right? Wouldn't it possible for sunlight to accelerate his recovery process?" He theorized.
Mira's eyes widened as he said that as did Porlyusica's.
"Let's put your theory to the test." She stated.
