After finding out that Tenrou Island hadn't been destroyed and everyone on it was alive, Ben's group drove away from the area. But now they need to come up with a way to dispel the spell that caused Tenrou Island to disappear.
"Listen, this will be our secret. For now, no one but the five of us will know about this, not even our guild mates." Ben said as they headed back.
"Eh? Why? They've been worrying about this incident. Don't they deserve to know the truth?" Romeo asked.
"They do. We will tell them, but not right now. I'm worried there are other spies besides Mest in our guild. They shouldn't be allowed to know this. Who knows what their organization will do after finding out. Master isn't here right now, so our enemies might try to do something." Ben said.
"That's a valid point. Mest probably isn't the only person that infiltrated our guild." Mira noted.
"Romeo, can you tell me everything that happened in the guild while I was unconscious?" Ben asked.
Romeo nodded and told Ben everything he knew about what happened to the guild after the incident. It's mostly concerning everyone's grief and they didn't go on jobs for days because they couldn't concentrate.
Everyone's behavior also changed a lot after the incident. The guild, which was a lively and happy place became very gloomy. No one smiled since that incident although they still drink alcohol, but not for fun like usual, it was to drown their sadness.
Then, Romeo said something surprising. Some people left their guild after the announcement of the incident on Tenrou Island. They said that they couldn't stay because Fairy Tail's reputation will drop and jobs will become more difficult.
Romeo looked down sadly and so did Mira and Bella. Porlyusica just sighed while Ben thought about something else. He thought that those guys were spies just like Mest.
"Don't worry about them. I think they're spies like Mest. They must've thought there was no reason to stay in our guild because without the master and the S-Class mages, Fairy Tail will be ruined. Mira and I are still alive but we were gravely injured so they assumed we wouldn't make it." Ben said.
"Really? But what if they aren't spies?" Romeo asked.
"It's not a problem. Leaving the guild while it's not in good shape meant they were never loyal to it. Well, they also need jobs and they can choose to join whatever guild they want. The problem now is more spies within our guild." Ben said.
"There must be some people who are willing to stay. They must've wanted to know what happened to you and Mira. Your recovery will affect Fairy Tail's future." Porlyusica said. Ben agreed.
"Then, I'll do some cleanup for now. Only after I'm sure there isn't a spy in the guild will I tell everyone the truth." He said.
The others agree and promise to keep this a secret. They don't want anything else to happen to their guild.
"Ah, that's right, everyone else in the guild has been discussing who will be the next guild master. We can't decide anything yet because we wanted to wait for you guys to wake up." Romeo revealed.
"Guild master, huh? Well let's discuss it with the others once we get back." Ben said.
The group arrived at the guild after a few hours because Ben drove slowly. They were no longer in a rush, so they could move slower and the passengers were relieved. Besides, they needed to talk about a lot of things that needed to be done.
After they arrived, Ben's group adopted a fake sad and disappointed expression. Ben even stopped talking to show that he was very depressed. Then the others, minus Romeo and Kenshin, head to Porlyusica's tree house to 'rest'.
Romeo promised to keep quiet about it, so they don't need to worry. They just need to act sad and depressed to fool the spies that might still be in the guild. They need to move carefully to avoid making the spies suspicious.
After arriving in the tree house, Ben immediately acts based on the plan they came up with on the way here. He created 7 clones and sent them to investigate everyone and everything in the guild. This will take a few days, but that was fine.
"I hope that master has done something about this before. It will make things easier and we won't need to worry about a lot." Ben said as he sent his clones out.
"Eh? Do you mean master might have known about the spies?" Mira asked.
"Yeah, there's no way he never thought about this. He must've done something even though some of them successfully slipped into the guild." Ben said.
"Like those that left our guild?" Mira asked.
"I don't know for sure. Maybe they aren't spies, just people that don't have a attachment to our guild. Anyway, we need to assume that there are spies for now. So we need to be careful." Ben said.
They all agree and resume their plan to act sad and depressed for now. In the meantime, Ben's clones are working to investigate this matter. Ben needs to dispel and make them again every time their magic power is depleted.
It took 4 days for the clones to investigate the matter. They found out Makarov really did do something and removed a lot of spies. The clones still found 3 spies who left the guild earlier.
It seems their employers have decided that they no longer need to spy on Fairy Tail because they think the guild was done for. That's not something that made them happy, but at least they no longer had to worry about any spies.
So now they can announce the truth to everyone and tell them the plan for their guild's future. Ben sent his clones to call everyone to meet in the guild hall. Everyone who was in Magnolia came and only those that were working didn't come.
Ben, Mira and Bella head to the guild hall after everyone gathered together. Porlyusica didn't join them because she doesn't like crowds. The 3 arrive soon and after they entered the guild hall, a lot of runes form on the walls.
It caused everyone to panic, but Ben calmed them down and told them it was his handiwork. His clones set up these runes before the meeting. The rune formation was set up to prevent anyone from eavesdropping.
This was an important matter, so they need to be careful. But it made the clueless mages even more confused, so Ben's group started to tell them what his group found out about Tenrou Island. He explained it slowly so they can understand it.
Without a doubt, his explanation made everyone cry. They are still doubting what he said, but in the end, they fully believe it because Ben explained it in great detail. Besides, everyone wants to believe that their friends are still alive, so they accept Ben's explanation rather easily.
Then Ben informed him of his next plan regarding Tenrou Island. He told them that he will become a Wizard Saint so that he can get more information about the magic that was possibly used on Tenrou Island.
Knowing what the used magic was will help him find a way to dispel it. Also, if Ben became a Wizard Saint, it will help him maintain his guild's reputation while he'll have access to a lot of hidden information.
Everyone agreed with the plan and promised to keep the truth a secret. They'll also help find any information even though the possibility is very low. But they don't want Ben and Mira to do it alone and they want to help even if it was minor help.
Ben and Mira thank them and want to end this meeting, but everyone else wanted to discuss another matter. They need to discuss and decide the next guild master. Their guild hasn't had a master for over a month so they need to decide soon.
