Eyes of Fury

Chapter 3 Clans and Empires

Disclaimer: I don't own anything.

Life on Gaea was both beautiful and chaotic. The early years for humanity were incredibly rough thanks to Vlitra and the Gohams' attacks, but it was thanks to those attacks that humanity began to adapt and advance itself. Many humans learned to create weapons or harness the power of Mantra through either intense training or through augmentation through advance science and machinery turning themselves into cyborg-like beings that were called Demigods. Eventually many of the planet's civilizations untied under one banner they called Shinkoku Trastrium. The Shinkoku Trastrium became a highly advanced civilization with a great capitol city called Shinto, ruled by an emperor and an elite team of warriors called the Eight Guardian Generals.

The Eight Guardian Generals had Mantra Affinity with one of the eight forms of Mantra. The Eight Forms of Mantra were Pride, Lust, Wrath, Vanity, Greed, Violence, Melancholy, and Sloth. Many Demigods took on one of the generals places over the years due to the previous holders retiring or receiving heavy injures in battle they could not fully recover from or were killed in battle.

In other parts of the world other humans found ways to fight back. The human man that possessed Aesir's right eye and the human woman that possessed Aesir's left eye realized that the eyes gave them special powers and helped to figure out how to use Spirit Energy. The users of the Eyes of Aesir called the magical the Eyes of the World and they went about training other humans how to use Spirit Energy and developed special fighting techniques against the Goham. The groups eventually learned about the Angels of Paradiso and the Demons of Inferno and saw this as an opportunity to form a pacts with the powerful beings to increase their power and better fight the Goham. Two clans were formed. One was the Lumen Sage, was a group of men wearing white robes with gold trims that made pacts with Angels and possessed Aesir's right eye, which they called the Right Eye of Light. The other group was called the Umbra Witches, they were a group of women that wore tight fitting clothes, made pacts with Demons, and possessed Aesir's Left Eye, which they called the Left Eye of Darkness.

Both clans respected each other and coexisted with one another. Eventually they both allied themselves with Shinkoku Trastrium and joined their ranks. The clans had one grand rule between them that forbid any Lumen and Witch from conceiving a child together. The clans feared that a child with the abilities of both a Lumen and a Umbra would be too chaotic and bring a great calamity to the world. For many years this rule was followed, until one day a young witch and a young sage fell in love with each other.

To be continued.
