Chapter 7 Birth

Both Balder and Rosa were excited about their unborn child, but at the same time they were both scared. They had broken their clans' grand rule and had created a child capable of using the magic of both a Lumen and a Umbra. Balder was both fearful and concerned for his wife and unborn child. He knew that he and his wife could face severe punishment, possibly a death sentence. The child would also face the same fate. Balder needed to protect his wife and child, so he began to come up with a plan. He met with Rosa one night in a garden to tell her, his plan.
"Rosa things are not going to be easy for us or our child. Our clans will be furious with us and they will surly know the child is different from any other child born in our clans and they will kill it and us. I can't bare of the idea of losing you or the child. I think our only option for us is to abandon the clans, retire, and start a life elsewhere. I'm going to find a Lumen Sage worthy of the Right Eye and give it to them, so I can leave my position, so we can start a new life together." Said Balder.
Rosa was touched by this. Balder was willing to give up everything he had worked to achieve in order to protect her and their unborn child and have a life together.
"Balder I am touched by this, but I don't think running away is our best option. The clans would still keep a watchful eyes on us even if we left and they would learn about our children even if we tried to hide it. I think we need to stick around and have our child born so we can show the clans that there's no need to worry or fear Lumens and Umbras having children together. I believe our children can help better unite the clans as well as be a force that can help protect Gaea." Said Rosa with a determined and passionate look in her eyes.
Balder looked at his wife and sighed.
"I guess you have a point. I just pray our leaders will see it."
"Oh I just felt a kick." Said Rosa as she put a hand to her swollen belly.
Balder placed a hand on Rosa's belly and felt a tiny kick and smiled as he made a vow to himself to do everything in his power to protect his family.
A few months later Rosa went into labor and gave birth to a baby girl. The witch that delivered the baby quickly realized something was different about Rosa's baby since she could detect both dark and light from it. The witch gathered her superiors and they demanded that Rosa tell them who the father was. Balder appeared and said he was the father. The witches were outraged by this and the family was arrested and taken to Shinto to have a trial where their fate would be decided.
