She could not face Bruce Wayne right now. Or anyone else, like her parents and her friends. The world thought, for some reason, that she was dating Bruce Wayne, all because he took her to see "Wicked." She knew it was his way of making it up to her for his behaviour and tried to get her to still work for him. And she was truly, truly thinking about forgiving him. That is, until it happened because she was not going to be around him for the jokes to start and be annoyed by him. she had other things that she could do. Avoiding things and people was one of her gifts, and she was going to do all she could to use them.
Like right now, she was avoiding Chloe, who was trying to get the dirt/gossip/the latest lowdown on what was happening. Chloe actually thought she was dating Bruce Wayne, of all people in this world. Had she not made it clear how much she hates and is annoyed by this man? Chloe also mentioned that someone like Bruce Wayne was a good guy to use and help her get over Pete. Clearly, Chloe knew that he was not the type of guy that anyone could be in a serious relationship with.
Lana thought that it was a good thing that she was moving on and was happy for her. Lana was always the sappy one of her friends. Plus, Lana was hoping that she would get some of her designs when she went out on a date. Lana was really pushing for her to be with him. And that was not going to happen.
Both of her best friends thought that, for some reason, because she was extremely annoyed by the guy, it meant that he was perfect for her. Where did they even get that logic from? It must be a human thing because she never understood how and why people always thought that way.
She had sent her a couple of texts, and she even had an unread voicemail. She was avoiding them all. And she was considering blocking him because she had been told that he was jealous and mad at her. I mean, when someone breaks up with you and immediately goes with someone else, they make the right choice. But when you think you have moved, then it is a completely different story and somehow you are the bad guy. She was told Pete was jealous and did not like that she was "dating" someone else. She was never going to admit this to anyone, but she kind of liked this. And that was the only good thing to come out of this whole thing.
She so did not want to go back with Pete. She did kind of want to make him feel bad, just a wee tiny bit, and she would tell him the truth very, very soon. She will probably get Chloe or Lana to tell him the truth soon. There was no way she was talking to Pete right now. Just because the girl he met online broke up with him, does not mean she has to be there for him. Right now, anyway. Well, that was what Chloe told her to do, and she was going to take her advice because she herself sucked at emotions, especially her own.
She was and is still a little in love with Pete and is not ready to move on. And she really does not want to make any stupid mistakes. Guys like Bruce Wayne fall way into that category. And it was best to avoid that because she had found him rather... she could not think about it anymore.
Her dad had kept phoning her and phoning her but just let it go to voicemail. She knew he was the one person that was best to avoid because she knew a lecture was coming. One way or another, she knew it was coming. But it would be best to let him cool down for a while and then let his mum make him realise he was being too protective again. Jonathan Kent really does not trust the super elite, powerful and rich. Even if she was an adult, somehow all parents will always give their kids adult lectures. Well, at least that was the Kent way of family fun and love.
Yeah, She had already talked to her mum about the whole situation, because she was the first person that she wanted and needed to talk to. She had to explain everything that happened and was not happening, because nothing was happening and she had to explain that. Nothing was happening, and she had to make that perfectly clear. And nothing was going to happen. Yeah, She really needed the whole talk with her mum, and she is the only person that can make her make sense of the whole situation like this.
The best place to be in this world, you know, was not to be in was going to the moon. It was somewhere that she could be alone and no one could annoy her to death.
She could even go to another planet?
She knew there was life elsewhere because she went to other planets in the future with Brainy and the gang. She really could not remember too much about those planets and everything about them. Her memories had to be a bit scrambled because it was far too dangerous for her to have that knowledge and all that stuff. That was stuff she could never really understand about time travel and all of that. Even though Brainy was the one that time travelled first and caused all of that to happen. From what she learned from the films, time travel was complicated and someone might not have been born.
She knew that she had to talk to Wayne to get this all over with and get the story corrected and fixed. She did not like fake news and she did not want to be in the news at all. It was dangerous for her to be in the spotlight right now, far too dangerous, and she actually liked being a wallflower. She did like sunlight and hated the shadows, but did not like being in the spotlight.
And this is where she began to use disguises.
