"MERCEDES!" Penny shouted the second she saw her old friend, she didn't even give her time to get up from her seat on the couch before she jumped on her.

"Hey P! I missed you too." Mercedes said, accepting her hug and laughing. "I see much hasn't changed outside of the fact you have two babies."

"Oh hush look at you! Still stunning as ever, I used to hate it when everyone would assume you and Jack were together but then I would laugh because I also knew you two never meshed that way."

"Eww." Mercedes said with a laugh. "I don't see the attraction to Jackie like everyone else does."

"Hey my boo is hot!" Penny defended with a chuckle.

"I never said he wasn't, he's just not hot to me. Hey where are those babies? I want to meet them!" Mercedes said, getting up looking around for Tyson.

"Luke! Matthew!" Penny shouted and two of the cutest little boys came running in smiling before stopping right in front of her. Mercedes couldn't help but gushing at how cute they were, they looked so much like Jack but she could see Penny in their smiles.

"Oh my goodness, they are too cute!" Mercedes said squatting to get a closer look.

"Boys this is my mommy and daddy's friend, can you say hey to Mrs. Mercedes?" Penny asked.

"Hi Miss Cedes!" They said in unison, making her laugh.

"Well hello to you two." She replied before mouthing aww when they both hugged her right as Tyson approached her.

"Hey sweetie this is Matthew and Luke, can you say hey and tell them your name?" Mercedes asked her son.

"Hi! I'm Tyson." He said with a small wave.

"Why don't you three go play? Can you guys show him where all the toys are?" Penny asked and the three boys ran off happily.

"He's adorable Cedes." Penny said, looking after them. "He looks a lot like-"

"Please don't mention him…" Mercedes interrupted before she could say his name.

"What's going on? I haven't heard from you in years and then Jack tells me you're here with your son." Penny questioned looking at her old friend and Mercedes just sighed before looking around making sure no one else was around.

"I couldn't stay there any longer… he's getting out of hand which is saying a lot because he's always been that way. I- I can't have Tyson around him because he's been threatening to take him away from me again and I just couldn't have him doing that."

"Mercedes, if you ran, he's going to come looking for you." Penny said.

"He's out for a few more weeks so it gives me time to get things together but Jackie decided to pull in a favor with his sister so…"

"Oh yeah I hear you two are having an affair." Penny joked earning an eye roll from Mercedes making her laugh.

"Doing a great job at hiding it too." Mercedes joked back laughing.

"Quinn's tough but she means well, maybe it'll be good to have her on your side and not his."

"That's what I was thinking but she was too eager to get his name…" Mercedes admitted.

"Sounds about right and I hate to say it but he is pretty much a big name right now."

"I just need a little time, Jack wanted me to work for her but…" She started before shaking her head.

"But that would mean giving her your last name and she would immediately know it." Penny finished nodding.

"His brother offered me a job too though."

"Sammy? Oh he's a sweetheart and you'll love working for him." Mercedes looked around before moving closer to Penny.

"He's going to find me and I don't think this time is going to be exactly easy…" She admitted.

"Has he?" Penny asked, narrowing her eyes at Mercedes.

"No, he's more verbally and emotionally abusive and it's gotten bad… Look, I know he cheats, hell it's the only way he gets any because I haven't let him touch me in years but he doesn't care if our son sees how he treats me and that I can't have. He doesn't even know that Tyson is diabetic and that's why I had to go because he's been making hints that he's going to pack up and take him but doesn't know the first thing about him."

"So you think keeping his name hidden will make it harder for him to find you?"

"He's going to find me when he's ready, that I know but if I can be ready and have myself and Tyson established before that then I know it'll be harder for him to get his way. I left a note, several notes and did all the necessary things to show that I didn't just suddenly leave… but he's smart Penny." Mercedes explained, sighing again feeling overwhelmed suddenly.

"Just tell them his name… trust me she'll take the case." Penny said and Mercedes could tell there was more behind what she was suggesting.

"Jack knows, isn't that enough?" She questioned.

"Jack can't get Quinn to do anything and honestly if you want a fighting chance at keeping Tyson you will need her. If he's as smart as you say then she's probably already been contacted and doesn't know it." Penny replied.

"So I basically don't have a choice?"

"Not if you want to win but don't worry I'll handle her, let's go see what everyone is doing." Penny answered before grabbing her hand and leading her outside where everyone else was, well most everyone.

Quinn heard the entire conversation and decided that she wanted to see if what Penny said was true about her being contacted by Mercedes' husband already.

"Kit?"

"Yeah, did we get any new client requests today?"

"None? Oh okay, let me know if we do." Quinn said hanging up and walking outside to join the rest of the group.

Mercedes watched as Tyson, Matthew and Luke ran around playing with Jack and Sam while Penny and Quinn prepared the sides for the dinner they cooked. She was just about to ask if they needed help before her phone started going off, she pulled it out of her pocket groaning when she saw it was her husband calling.

"What?" She answered walking away so she was out of ear shot.

"Is that anyway to speak to the love of your life?"

"I'd have to love you for that to be a true question, what do you want?" She asked.

"Are you home?"

"Why?"

"I just wanted to let you know I was coming home earlier than planned and thought we could have dinner?"

"Ha! Dinner? No thank you, I think me and Tyson are gonna have some BBQ and then watch a few movies before crashing."

"Come on Cedes, I want to celebrate the good news I got with my wife."

"Look I-"

"Too bad my wife isn't here and nor is my son." He said before she quickly hung up and let out a shaky breath.

"Mommy!" She heard from behind her and had to plaster a smile on her face as she turned to see Tyson waving her over.

"Hey… having fun?" She asked as she approached him and he nodded.

"Can I stay with them tonight?" He asked and she shot him a sad look.

"Already trying to leave me? Tyson… you know you have to take-"

"It's okay mommy, I can show Mrs. Penny how to do it! Pleasee?" He begged and she knew she was about to give in.

"Let me talk to Penny and Jack first then we'll decide okay?" She countered and he hugged her before running off again.

"Puckerman." She heard from behind her causing her to freeze before she slowly turned around seeing Quinn standing there with a smirk.

"Excuse me?" Mercedes asked cooly, keeping her expression neutral.

"Which Puckerman are you married to?" Quinn asked and Mercedes rose an eyebrow at her before laughing.

"As in Noah and Jake Puckerman?" She asked, laughing harder when Quinn's smug look broke.

"You've heard of them?"

"I went to school with them and I tell you one Puckerman is bearable but two? Why you'd ask?"

"No reason… i hope you enjoy your time here." Quinn replied feeling depleted because she was so sure she had figured it out.

"Oh well thanks!" Mercedes said before walking away and muttering that was too close.
