Spanking of minors. Don't like. Don't read.Season 1 Episode 1 Part 8...GMW...
When they got there, Maya was in the living room reading. "Where's Cory?"
Maya looked behind her at her mother, "What are you doing here?"
"Maya..." Topanga warned. "I'm sure Cory told you that you weren't grounded anymore." Maya nodded, her eyes still on her mother. "So your mom is here for a fun sleepover tonight. Pizza, ice cream, movies. Cory?"
"He went to grab some junk food and then pick up Auggie." Maya said, still not glancing at her.
"Okay, Katy, go put your bag in Rileys rooms." Katy walked away to go do that, and Topanga sat next to Maya. "Give it a chance, okay?"
"Fine," Maya grumbled, "but for you, not her."
Topanga kissed the girls temple. "Be nice, my fierce Amazon Warrior."
Maya nodded but was clearly less than thrilled. Topanga really didn't want to have to get onto the girls' case about anything else for a while. As it turned out, that was not the girl that Topanga needed to be worried about.
Riley came through the front door, anxiety written all over her face. It was clear she had been worried about her friend all day, but her eyes had barely landed on Maya before she looked up to see Katy coming down into the room. Maya followed her friends gaze and stood up in case anything was going to happen. She may not be her moms biggest fan, but an angry Riley was one who was reckless with her words.
"What are you doing here?" Riley growled.
"Riley Olivia, that is not how we speak to adults in this house." Topanga scolded, she too stood in case she needed to stop Riley.
Riley didn't even look at her mom, though. She moved so that she stood in front of Maya, her body slightly shielding her. "You hurt my friend." Riley told her. To her it was that cut and dry, Auggie had told her that he had heard their mom say Maya was bleeding.
Maya reached her hand out and gently touched her friends shoulder, "It's okay."
"Nothing could be less okay than hurting your child, especially when her child is you." Riley said.
"Hey, little miss," Topanga told her firmly, Riley broke eye contact with Katy for the first time and looked at her mom, knowing that tone meant business. "The adults are taking care of this one. You will apologize and lose the attitude, or we will move the sleepover to the living room, and you can stay alone in your bedroom tonight. Am I clear?"
Riley frowned at her mom. She didn't want Katy here. She wanted Maya safe with her family. She didn't understand why her parents would allow Katy in their home. "She hurt her, mom."
"Riles," Maya said softly, trying to ease the tension off the whole room. "It's going to be okay."
Riley turned to look at her best friend for a minute. She could see that Maya was already upset enough without her anxiety, and she did her best to take a deep breath and push it down. She then looked back to her frowning mother before turning to Katy, "I'm sorry, Ms. Hart. That was rude. We are happy to have you at our sleepover."
Cory walked in with grocery bags and Auggie and could feel the tension. "Hi, Katy."
He said. "Hey, Cory." She replied.
"Perfect timing." Topanga said, kissing him. "Riley, let's go move some stuff around in your room to make it sleepover ready."
"Maya," Cory called, "Help us unload these bags, please. Auggie, set your bag by the door. You can put it away later." He could tell whatever his wife needed to say did not need an audience.
"Yes, Sir." Both kids said, moving into action.
"I wish I could do that," Katy said, laughing.
"You can, Katy." Cory told her. "It just takes consistency. Now come help us."
When they got back to her room, Topanga pulled Riley over to the bay window. "I know that apologizing to Katy was hard for you, I appreciate you doing it, and im proud of you."
"You aren't angry with me?" Riley asked, surprised. She was certain that her mom was going to at least scold her. Topanga shook her head no. She waited for Riley to speak. "Why are you and Daddy letting someone who hurt Maya into this house?" Topanga could hear all the emotion in her daughter voice. The fear for her friend, the anger at Katy, the confusion and hurt towards her parents, all lined the question that hung in the air.
"The older you get, the more complex each situation is going to be for you. I'm sure that you were worried about Maya all day and then you came home and before you could even hug your friend and feel safe that she was okay, you saw the person who made her not okay. I'm sure that was unsettling for you."
Riley leaned into her mom for comfort, grateful that she understood. "That is very complex and very big to all be inside my body."
Topanga smiled at the top of the girls head before kissing it, "I have something else complex I need you to think about, I'm afraid."
Riley snuggled closer to her mom, hoping to be shielded from the world, "Okay."
"I'm not going to lecture you on how out of line you were because I know that you already know that. You also already know that your father and I won't tolerate you being rude to Katy, so I know I don't need to remind you to behave. I want you to think about how you are feeling and how complex and BIG it is, and then I want you to think about what Maya must be feeling. No matter what, Katy is her mom, and she loves her. And you are her best friend and she loves you very much." Topanga told the girl, holding her tight. "It wouldn't be very fair to Maya if she didn't feel like she had the opportunity to repair things with her mom because her friend was so upset."
Riley thought about that for a moment, "I will try my hardest to forgive Katy, and I will be nice to her even if I can't."
"Good, that's what Maya needs from you right now, that and someone who will listen." Topanga told her daughter.
"I can do that. Especially because Maya's body is littler than mine, so all of those big things must feel even bigger." Riley said. Topanga rolled her eyes at the girl. "Help me pull Auggies bed in here. He can sleep with your dad tonight."
The night went well with minimum tensions. They ate pizza as a family and played board games until Auggies bed time. Katt had pulled Maya aside before dinner to apologize, and while Cory and Topanga were pretending not to listen, Maya knew they were. She told her mom all was well. They had brought the TV into Rileys room so the four girls watched some romcoms. Around two, Topanaga looked around to see Katy asleep on Auggies matress on the floor, and both girls passed out in Rileys bed. She went out to grab a blanket from the living room and was startled by Cory resting on the couch.
"Hey," he said when he sensed her, keeping his eyes shut. She laid down next to him, and he rolled to his side so there was room.
"Auggie kicking again?"
"Yeah, we need to put that kid in soccer." Topanga smirked at that. "Everyone asleep in the girls' room?"
"Yes." She responded. They laid in silence for a few minutes, and Cory could feel Topanga getting more and more tense next to him. But like may things in life, they had different styles to this. Where Topanga was quick to jump in and point out ways things went wrong, Cory liked to let the person start talking on their own. Especially his wife. He felt it was more valuable if whoever was learning a lesson came to it on their own first. "Cor..."
"Hmmm?" He asked, still not opening his eyes.
"I'm sorry that I didn't listen to you this afternoon and that I walked out while we were still talking. Although, I'm not sorry about the results." Topanga rushed.
He smiled at his stubborn wife, "it didn't make me feel like you respected my feelings very much when you just walked out mid conversation like that."
"I'm sorry." She whispered before burrowing closer to him.
"I know that things turned out okay today, but I would have liked to have felt like we were on the same team." He added, allowing some hurt to enter his voice.
"We are always on the same team." Topanga told him.
"No, today you weren't playing for the Matthews team, and we needed you." Cory told her. When he felt like it probably wasn't good for her to be anymore tense her started running his hand up and down her arm, pausing his words until she relaxed.
"I was playing for Mayas team. She needed me." Topanga justified, relaxing into her husband's touch.
"No, if you had been playing for Mayas team, you would have stayed with me to figure out the best way to merge the Hart and Matthews teams into one. You let your temper get the better of you, and you played for your own team today." Cory told her, still running his hand in the same calm, slow pattern.
She was quiet for a minute while she thought about that. "You're right." If he weren't scolding her, he would make a joke about her repeating herself for the camera, but instead, he waited for her to continue. "And in letting my temper run wild, I broke some important rules. Like listening to the captain of our team and respecting him."
Cory paused his rubbing and opened his eyes for the first time, "Are you sure everyone in your room was asleep?"
Topanga hesitated, already knowing what he was thinking. "Yes."
"Pull your bottoms down and roll over onto your stomach. You are lucky that i dont want the kids to wake up. So i'm just going to use my hand." He ordered softly. Topanga did as he said and put one arm down on the ground to steady herself.
"Can i have a pillow?" Cory pulled the one from under his head out and handed it to his wife before propping himself up on his elbow. It was an awkward angle for sure, but he knew that his wife's heart had been in the right place, so this was more for the fact that she was expecting it than actual punishment.
He let his hand glide over his wife bottom, always an asset of hers that he had loved. "Same team Topanga." He said before he started spanking in firm quick swats. He couldn't see the color of her bottom, only that it was darkening, so he watched her shoulders more for his ques. When her shoulders relaxed and she had started gently crying, he stopped. "Same team?" He asked, rubbing the sting from her bottom.
"Always." She promised. She rolled so they were facing each other and kissed him. She hated to leave him, but she knew the girls would expect to see her when they woke up, and they didn't need any more surprises right now. She reluctantly stood up, pulled up her panties and sleep pants, and grabbed a blanket. "Good night, Cor. Love you."
"Love you too." Cory told her. Closing his eyes again. Topanga snuck into her room to check in, Auggie, and sure enough, the boy was running a marathon even in his sleep. She kissed his head and then crept back into the room again and made sure everyone was still sleeping. She kissed the back of Mayas head, as the girl was sleeping on her stomach, even in their sleep, the girls were holding hands. She then kissed Rileys forehead, tucked Katy in, and curled up in the bay window to finally fall asleep.

In the morning Mayas eyes drifted open and she saw Riley watching her, "that's creepy ya know, Riles."
"How are you feeling Maya, really?" Riley asked, ignoring her friends comment.
"Are we...?"
"Everyone is in the kitchen, peaches." Riley said, she scooted closer so that their noses were almost touching.
Maya couldn't help but smile at her best friend. "I'm okay, Riles."
"How can you be?" Riley asked her.
Maya sighed and sat up, she winced at the sting in her bottom though and switched to standing instead. "I'm always okay, Riley." Her eyes looked over at the clock, it was almost 10. "Let's go get some breakfast."
"Maya?" Riley begged.
Maya halted her exit and turned to look at her friend, pasting on a smile. "Riley, honestly, I'm okay. It's the first day I'm not grounded and I want to eat, see my mom off to work and then go hang out with you and Farkle."
Riley nodded when she saw that her friend wasn't going to budge and followed her out to the table.
They had waited on the girls to eat and Cory and Topanga walked Katy through the allowance the kids got as well as their savings goals. At 1130 Katy left for work and promised to call at 9. The girls went out and hung out with Lucas and Farkle and then came home for dinner. Maya knew that everyone was watching her closely, and while it was tiring she did her best to act normal the whole day.
Trun to her word Katy called at 9 and promised Maya that she would be over at 4 the next day for dinner. After the call Maya was exhausted and went to go shower.
She turned the water and finally felt safe to cry. She leaned against the bathtub and rested her face in knees. She didn't hear the door open, but felt Riley lean into her. She looked up to see her friend close the door with her foot, before scooting even closer to her. "You don't have to talk to me Maya, but don't lie to me. And promise me you won't do this alone. I will just sit with you while you cry. Please don't do this alone."
Maya looked up to see Riley crying and she wrapped her arms around the girl. They sat like that crying for a while. Maya stopped crying first and waited for Riley to stop. When she did, Maya kissed her best friends temple, "Thank you, and I promise." She stood up and helped Riley stand. "Now get out of here while I still have hot water."
