LAWDDDD THE TWO!

The Bar Part 6-Part 1

Theo Howell was not in the best of moods, instead of working on the merger he was called to bring his fiancee back home. He knew when she found out that he was "paying" for her she would be pissed, but it wasn't as bad as she made it out to be. He was helping out his in-laws.

Stepping out his sports car he removed his sunglasses, grabbing his suit jacket and putting it on. Walking towards the office of the place that Angela said Mercedes was, he stepped in, he walked over to the man sitting in there. "Hello, where can I find Mercedes Jones' room?"

Stevie looked at the man before sighing. "We can't give that kind of information out, who's asking?"

"I am her fiancee, Theo. So kindly tell me where she is and I can get out of your hair."

"Again, you're not a family member and I can't just go off your word so… unless you'd like to book I can suggest plenty of other places with vacancies." Stevie replied, narrowing his eyes at the man.

"Look I am engaged to her I can show you proof." He said, annoyed as he pulled his phone out and showed a few photos of them. "Now either show me to her room, or call her down here and we can clear this up."
He said choosing to ignore his comment on looking elsewhere.

"We don't have any vacancies and there is no one by that name here." Stevie responded dismissively.

"Bro I don't want a room, I want my wife!" He said, slamming his fist onto the counter.

Stevie tilted his head. "I thought you said you were looking for your fiancee… which is it? Is she your wife or is she your fiancee and given that you're now becoming combative, I'm going to need you to leave."

Theo stood up straight and smiled. "I see what you are saying. I get you loud and clear." He said pulling his wallet out and placing five hundred dollar bills on the counter. "Now Mercedes Jones, please."

Stevie looked down, smiling before taking the money and slipping it into his pocket. "Yeah, I still need you to leave." He said, pointing to the door.

Theo laughed, folding his arms across his chest. "No, that's not how this works, you will show me where she is or I will find her myself." He warned.

"Or I will beat the fuck out of you for tresspassing and being that no one saw you walk in here, it'll be my word against yours."

"Cute." He said turning and walking out of the office, towards where he assumed the rooms were. "MERCEDES! MERCEDES JONES I KNOW YOUR ASS BETTER GET OUT HERE." He yelled.

Stevie chuckled before shaking his head. "City boys…" He said to himself before walking over to where he was shouting. "I warned you." He said before punching Theo several times causing to fall flat on his back.

Stevie hovered over him with a wide smile. "You know, it's been a while since I had a fun fight, so I'm going to enjoy this." He said hitting him again this time in his hitting him in the stomach a few times, he was mindful to hit a rib or two while he was at it.

"What the hell is wrong with you!" Theo shouted trying to block his blows but he kept hitting him.

Stevie laughed. "Nothing's wrong with me…why? What have you heard?" He asked before feeling himself being yanked away from him.

"Dude what the hell are you doing?" Sam asked and Stevie rolled his eyes.

"This bitch, is demanding I tell him where Mercedes is and claims he's her fiance." He explained.

"So you do know her!" Theo shouted and Sam looked at him hard before shaking his head.

"Oh so you're the asshole?" He asked, bringing his fist up and punching him in the face. "You think you can use her for some damn money!" He said hitting him again this time was harder than the last.

Mercedes heard the commotion and walked towards the noise, she saw Sam and Stevie before freezing when she saw Theo getting hit. She took a moment before quickly going to them, trying to pull them apart.

"Sam, stop!" She said but it fell on deaf ears. "SAM, STOP HITTING HIM!" She shouted, causing them all to look at her. She looked at Sam before walking over to Theo and helping him up.

"You can't be serious!" Sam breathed out and she shot him a look.

"Beating him up isn't going to resolve anything…" She said, checking Theo's bruises.

"Maybe not, but it sure as hell felt good." Stevie chirped. "Maybe you should try it."

Mercedes shook her head. "Theo I already told my mom and Jamal I was done with all of this. You shouldn't have come here."

Theo eyed her for a moment and looked back at Sam and Stevie. "Oh I see…so which one was it?"

Mercedes raised an eyebrow. "What are you talking about?"

"Which one have you been fucking?" He asked bluntly. "Or is it both of them?"

Stevie smirked before Sam hit him across the head. "Ow, I didn't even say anything!"

"What I do, or who I do it with is none of your concern, we are not together." Mercedes said, stepping away from him.

Theo let out a laugh, shaking his head before grabbing her arm and pulling her into him. "You taking your ring off doesn't mean the relationship has ended. Let me guess you lied and said we never had sex?"

Mercedes tried to pull away from him. "You weren't mentioned because you no longer matter!"

Sam looked at them before shaking his head and walking away. "So it was him? You lied and spread those pretty thighs of yours for him… he next?" Theo said, looking at her disgusted.

"Let me go!" She said, yanking her arm away from him. "You are a psycho just like my mom! I left to get away from you, what makes you think I want to go anywhere with you. Leave. Now!" she said, rushing after Sam.

"MERCEDES, YOU KNOW I'M NOT LEAVING WITHOUT YOU!" Theo shouted and Stevie snickered.

"Oh you're leaving and without her." He said before hitting so hard he passed out.

Mercedes didn't bother paying him any attention as she made her way to Sam. "Sam, will you stop walking away from me!"

"You are a liar! You've done nothing but lie since you got here… you need to leave when your fiance does!

"What have I lied about now? I haven't lied to you, or to anyone! I told you I had a fiancee that I left, I told you I was here to get away! I never lied, but that doesn't matter does it? You are so scared of this thing between us that you keep making excuses to leave."

"I ain't scared of shit! You lied about being with him! You think you know me after a few days? You think you can stand there all self righteous like you didn't look me in the face and say you never fucked him? That is a lie Mercedes, and why would you lie about that? Oh I don't know maybe because you're still holding a candle for him! You still love him, so I can't be afraid of something that will never happen. You got what you wanted, you got the grand adventure at the expense of some country boy."

Mercedes laughed, shaking her head. "I never loved him. I wasn't even sure I liked him." She took him hand turning him to her. "I didn't bring him up because he's my past, whether we have a future or not."

Sam snatched his hand away. "You didn't bring him up because you were hiding something. You painted this cute little picture of how you were wronged but you still slept with him and lied about it and have the gall to think you can accuse me of being scared. You don't fucking know me, now get off my property." He said sternly.

Mercedes nodded. "You know when I walked into that bar-"

"I don't care. Leave and don't come back." He interrupted before walking away.

"NO!" She said shaking her head as he walked away, he could be pissed all he wanted but she was done taking orders from everyone.

Sam ignored her and kept walking, he was done with this conversation and he was done putting his heart out there, in truth he'd kept it closed off because of a bad previous relationship but when he met Mercedes it's like his heart unlocked itself just to get broken again. She wasn't his and she didn't belong here, he could take just about anything but lying is where he drew the line. She would have to leave and if that meant forcing her then he would do it.

Mercedes watched him walk away and screamed out in frustration, when did this become her life? She came to town to get away, Sam pursued her and now he was judging her for her past? Believing everyone but her, and she knew it was because he was afraid of getting hurt. And now they were both hurting.

She turned and started back to her room. She may have told him she wasn't going to leave, but she wasn't going to stay somewhere she wasn't wanted. And Sam made it clear that he didn't want her there. She walked back towards her room and slammed the door angrily. She was angry at her mom, Jamal and Theo for showing up and pissed at Sam for making her the bad guy. As she moved around her room there was a knock and someone let themselves in. She looked to see Stevie and frowned going back to packing. "Not in the mood to talk, Stevie."

Stevie leaned against the door. "Had your lover escorted off the property."

She cut her eyes at him. "Funny, but forgive me for not laughing at my own expense."

"So you're just gonna leave?" He asked, pushing himself off the frame and walking over to her.

"Not gonna stay somewhere I am not wanted, especially by a man who would rather listen to strangers over me." She said tossing more clothes into her bag.

Stevie snorted. "You don't know my brother at all clearly…" He said, pulling one of her dresses out of her bag.

"I know he's scared of what he feels so he would rather listen to others then believe me." She said yanking her dress out of his hand.

"Wrong. The only thing that scares him is snakes… clowns but I'm not supposed to tell people that." Stevie quipped with a half smile.

"Clowns are the devil's bodyguards, so I get it." She turned to the bathroom, grabbing her things.

Stevie took a few more of her things out of the bag and placed them on the bed. "Did he tell you about Harmony?" He asked.

"Stevie! Stop unpacking me dammit!" She said not answering his question, he already knew Sam didn't.

Stevie nodded. "So, you make the pretty speech about knowing what scares him and you don't even know what broke him… I bet he could read you like a book but you haven't scratched the surface with him. You have every right to be pissed at him but don't ever insult him by saying he's afraid of you, of wanting to be with you."

"He is scared of me! Of what he thinks I can do to him. He won't let me in because he thinks I am gonna hurt him, so he hurt us both."

Stevie sighed, grabbing more of her things, getting up and placing them into the dresser. "Did you ever ask him? I know you saw the mark on his chest."

"A broken person can always see another broken one, we didn't talk about our past. I just wanted to enjoy the present so sue me." She grabbed her stuff back and stopped. "Yeah I saw it."

"He got it trying to save her…" Stevie said, looking at Mercedes. "He did a lot shit trying to save her, he's an easy person to be free with but for him to feel free around someone is… rare. He felt that with you, usually it's a one night, two night kind of thing but not with you… he let his guard down."

She stared at him as she sat down. "I did too…" She ran her hands through her hair. "What…what happened?"

"Long story short, she lied about a lot of things and when he finally caught on he still tried to help her but… it was too late. She cheated but he's the type to overlook things but the guy she cheated with wasn't a good guy. He felt she was his and belonged to him so when Sam came things got… bad, quickly and she was the tragedy that came from it." He said, sighing.

She shook her head. "Stevie I know you are looking out for Sam but you telling me this, it won't matter if your brother doesn't open up to me about it, about anything. I want to know what happened, but I want to hear it from him. How do I do that if he is refusing to even look at me?"

"He… if you ask him to open that door, you can't run when he gets like this. He'll tell you but you have to be ready to accept everything you learn because you make it seem like you're willing to take on just about anything but…" He stopped shaking his head. "Sam isn't afraid of wanting you or you wanting him… that's all I'll say outside of telling you that he's at the old barn." He finished before getting up and walking towards the door.

"Hey Stevie?" She said, looking at him.

"Yeah, yeah I know I am awesome." He said looking at her.

"No…you still have my thong in your hand still."

Stevie looked down and chuckled. "Sorry." He said tossing them to her. "Mercedes?"

"Yes." She said catching them

"If you're sure about what you said, you can't go out there looking for a fight because he won't… I know sometimes we need people to fight with us to save us but he's never been that way. Just… just remember that." He said then walked out.

Mercedes looked at Stevie and sighed looking at the dress Stevie laid out on her bed. She wasn't sure if things would work out with her and Sam but she needed to try. They both deserved that much.

Part two is... just wait!
