The Bar: Part Seven

Sam wiped his sweaty palms as he watched from the VIP area of the club, this was a long shot and he knew it but he needed to make things right.

"Dude, if you keep looking at the door you're going to creep everyone out." Stevie said, handing him another shot. "You said you got the text to be here so we're here."

Sam sighed. "I'm not used to doing this… this is… it won't work" He stammered.

"Are you sure she can be trusted…this Santana chick? That her and Mercedes aren't playing us right now."

Sam shook his head. "No, she was very clear about everything and she kinda scared me…"

Stevie chuckled. "She scared you? How?"

Sam ran his free hand through his hair. "She just has a way of making you feel like-" He stopped when he saw them walking through the entrance and his eyes landed on Mercedes.

He let out a low groan seeing her in a red spaghetti strap, wrap dress with a slit that showed off her right thigh. He had to stop himself from drooling when he saw the pair of matching red heels, she looked downright sinful.

"Shit." Stevie said once he spotted Mercedes with her friends. "Yeah, you were an idiot for ever letting her walk away and if I weren't your brother I would… shit, I need another drink."

Sam rolled his eyes. "I'm not here for that… I'm here to win her over and fix a wrong." He said, keeping his eyes glued on her. He wasn't entirely sure but he was trying to will her to look up at him, he wanted to know if even after a year she felt something.

"You could just go down there instead of trying to do whatever it is you're doing now… you look constipated." Stevie teased.

"Shut the hell up dude." He said, taking another shot before heading downstairs to the dance floor.

Mercedes knew that she should be at home, preparing for tomorrow afternoon, but she felt the need to get out of her head and dancing with the club would do just that. Stepping into the club, she felt the need to unwind, find a guy or two to dance with and just have fun. She deserved it, even if her mind randomly kept running back to Sam.

As she stepped further into the place, she felt like someone was watching her, staring at her, looking up to the VIP section she could have sworn she saw…shaking it off she willed herself to get Sam off of her mind. "Okay I want shots! Let's go to the bar."

"Yas! I got us a section just over there." Santana replied, nodding over the far left just past the dance floor where there were VIP sections. "We can order a round over there."

Mercedes smiled as she followed Santana and the others to the bar. "I can't get drunk but I can get happy girl buzzed."

Waving her hand to get the bartender's attention she grabbed the shots passing them out. "Okay so let's drink to a successful book signing tomorrow. And to one if not all of us getting a chance to save a horse and ride a cowboy or girl!" She lifted her drink and then threw it back.

"CHEERS!" Santana and Britney shouted, taking their shots along with her.

Santana handed her another shot smiling. "After this, we're dancing. I want to see that nice ass of yours shake!"

Mercedes took the shot and shook off the burn a second time, then grabbed both girl's hands and took them to the dance floor, sandwiched between them both.

Mercedes dropped it down low, moving along with the beat giving herself away to the beat.

Sam had walked down the stairs looking around when he didn't see her but froze as a small crowd had gathered around the dancing trio. Though all three women were beautiful and tempting with the way they grinded and felt each other up, his eyes were trained on Mercedes. Her movements, her smile. God he missed everything about her.

"You just gonna stand there drooling?" Stevie asked, nudging him. "I swear it's like I have to do everything myself with you."

"Shut up Stevie! I am waiting for the right moment." Sam defended.

"That's your problem big bro, you've been waiting a year for the right moment. There is no right moment. No, get in there!" Stevie pushed Sam towards the women and he nodded towards Santana who reluctantly moved from behind Mercedes.

"Mind I cut in?" Sam asked, whispering in her ear.

Mercedes started to turn towards him to see who it was but he prevented her by placing his hands on her hips and grinding into her. He bit back another groan, feeling her against him after all that time was making it hard for him to keep his promise.

Mercedes swayed to the music, allowing his hands to guide her where he wanted to go. There was something familiar about the way he touched her, about his presence, she just couldn't put her finger on it. Moving her hips and grinding back, she leaned back into him giving in to the music, even if it was just for one dance.

Sam smiled, holding her tightly as he felt her loosen up in his arms, a smirk splayed across his face as her head fell back. His lips ghosted up her neck, reaching to her ear as he whispered. "Are you ready to ride a cowboy?"

Mercedes shuddered, thinking about the last time she was asked that. "You sure you can handle me?" She countered.

Sam nipped her ear, running his hand along her stomach to pull her closer to him. "I'd sure like to find out if I still can." He hissed, body pressed closed against hers, fighting the urge to take her right on that dance floor.

Mercedes tilted her head. "Again?" She asked, stopping her movements and turning around. She let out a shaky breath when she saw Sam standing there. "W-what are you doing here?"

"I came for you." He said moving into her space, kissing her softly.

Mercedes took a step away, shaking her head. "Uh-uh, you don't get to just come here and kiss me like that." She replied, taking another step back.

He nodded. "I understand. I am sorry." He said softly. "I was caught up in our dance."

She ran her hand through her hair, shaking her head. "How… how did you even know where I was? Why are you here!"

Sam moved closer to her. "Come to the VIP with me so we can talk?" He asked.

"Uh-uh… I'm not going anywhere alone with you…" She said shifting, angry that body was having a strong response to him being there. "I'm going to the bathroom." She muttered before walking away.

Sam watched her and groaned following her and walking into the bathroom staring at her as he shut the door. "Mercedes please five minutes and then I will leave you alone."

She shook her head. "Get out of here, I don't want to talk to you."

"I deserve that, I deserve your hate, I deserve it all. I just really wanted to tell you the truth."

Mercedes turned to face him and sighed. "I can't talk to you right now…"

Sam hesitated before walking closer to her. "Then don't talk to me." He gently grabbed her face with both hands staring down at her. "Just be here with me, right now."

She looked up at him, biting her lip. "Fuck…" She said before wrapping her arms around his neck and crashing her lips onto his.

Sam was taken by surprise for only a moment before he returned her kiss passionately, pulling her against him, as his hands roamed her body. "I want you so bad." He murmured against her lips.

"Take me." She moaned in between kisses.

Sam lifted her up to him, pushing her against the wall as he hissed a trail down her exposed neck, leaving gentle bite marks as he did. His finger moved over her thighs, lifting her dress to expose her more. "I will never get over how good you feel."

Mercedes hands went to Sam's shirt tugging it up so she could feel his abs.

Sam grunted tugging down his jeans, freeing himself as he sucked on Mercedes bottom lip, as he kissed her deeply. "I wish I had the strength to resist you so I can explore every inch of you. But if I am not inside you soon, I might lose my mind."

"Then stop talking." She said, tugging him closer to her.

Sam growled, staring at her, instead of speaking he moved her panties to the side and thrust inside of her, filling her to the hilt watching as her head fell back and her lips fell open in a moan.

"Beautiful." Sam said as he gripped her thighs, moving slowly at first, feeling his need for her and hunger continue to grow. It was like he couldn't get enough of her.

Mercedes held onto Sam's shoulders digging her nails into his shoulders as Sam took her lips drowning out her screams and cries.

Sam sped up his actions as Mercedes wrapped her thighs around him needing her to fall apart before him, he needed to feel her body tremor that he remembered, hear her whimpers and cries of pleasure, it was a sound he craved now.

Mercedes moved against him faster, brushing her clit against his cock every time he pulled out to thrust in and she screamed out cumming hard against him.

As she squeezed him, Sam came behind her, gripping her thighs so tight, he was sure he might have left a mark on her. His lips found hers, kissing her, nipping at her bottom lips as they both came down from their sexual high.

"So sexy, so perfect Mercedes." Sam said, kissing her forehead. "I missed you so much."

Mercedes let out a ragged breath. "Not enough to come after me until now though." She said lightly pushing him away. "This was a slip up… it won't happen again."

Sam sighed. "Don't do that… don't shut me out. I know I should've come after you and I wanted to but… I had a lot to deal with and I caught hell from my family because of how I treated you. You have no idea how badly I beat my own self up over what I did. Let me talk to you, forreal this time."

She shook her head. "We don't have to do this… you made it very clear that you did not want me and that makes me even more pissed that I gave in as easily as I did." She replied, moving her panties back and rolling her shoulders. "Thanks for letting me ride a horse for the last time."

"Mercedes please… letting you walk away from me was the worst decision I have ever made. Please just listen to me." He asked, reaching for her hand.

She moved out of his reach. "No, you had a year… I waited for a whole year. I'm not available to you anymore." She said looking away, quickly wiping a tear away.

"And I spent that year, trying to make sure that I was worthy of you. If you just listen, Mercedes you love me just like I love you."

She looked at him with a hardened expression. "I don't love you. I don't want you and I don't care to hear whatever bullshit you have to say." She spat before pushing him out of the way and storming out.

Sam moved after her and gripped her arm gently. "You don't love me, but you wrote an entire book about me, about us?" He lifted her chin so she was looking at him. "I was stupid, and I can understand if right now you can't forgive me, but if any part of you still loves me, then let me show you, prove to you that I am worthy of that love."

She snatched away from him. "You had your chance or have you forgotten? I literally bore my soul for you and you looked me straight in the eyes and told me you didn't want me. You expect me to just give you another chance? No… fuck you Evans for even thinking you could waltz back into my life and do this to me!"

"I didn't think I could waltz back in Mercedes, I just want you to crack open the window." He said with a soft smile. "You never deserved how I treated you, never deserved me shutting you out. It's gonna take work I know. So hate me, push me away but I am here."

She threw her hands up and started to walk away but stopped, looking back at him. "I don't want you here, so leave!" She said shoving him. "I don't want you! I DON'T WANT TO LOVE YOU!" She spat out hitting him on his chest before letting out a sob. "I hate you…"

Sam pulled her to him and held her close. "I know. I know. I'm so sorry." He said softly. "I am so sorry."

She pushed him away. "Stay away from me!" She shouted this time actually walking away.

Sam watched after her, not wanting to push it. He knew it wasn't' going to be easy, but Mercedes was worth it, and he would fight to get her back.

Mercedes rubbed her temples again before sitting up and looking at Santana and Britney. "So you're the reason he's here?"

Santana shrugged. "You've been moping and pretending like you're fine but you're not and it's because you missed getting your back blown out." She replied nonchalantly.

Britney snickered. "She's not upset about that, she's upset because she let him do it again…"

Mercedes shot her look. "I never… I never said that."

Santana smiled widely. "Oh my God! That's why you ran out of the club? Oooo details! Where, when and how hard?"

Mercedes groaned, placing her head on the table. "I don't want to talk about it and I'm very mad at you! I was okay, I was finally getting over being addicted to that asshole and now look at me.. I'm a mess!"

"You weren't getting over him, you were burying your feelings in your work, there is a difference. Merce you feel this way because you love him for whatever reason." Santana said, poking her gently.

"I don't love him anymore and you should've come to me first before going out to Nashville and talking to him. I was not ready to face him and you just forced it, which makes it even more shitty because we didn't even talk! I gave him so damn quickly." She said groaning again.

"I think you're more upset that you enjoyed it and you're mad because you want to do it again and again." Britney chimed in and Mercedes lifted her head just enough to shoot daggers at her.

'Well no one asked you." She said, sighing.

Santana smirked. "Merce, take it from me, you were never gonna be ready to see him, and the reason you gave in, is because while your head is stuck on this I don't love him bullshit, your heart knows better."

"I just want to get this signing over so we can start the tour and I can forget about him… sorta. Ugh! Why did I have to write a whole damn book about him?" She replied, throwing her head back. "I seriously don't know what to do…"

"It's really simple, and after I tell you, you are gonna kick yourself for not realizing it." She said smugly.

Mercedes shook her head. "I don't want to know whatever it is because I'm only focusing on this tour and then a long vacation to Bora Bora or somewhere he can't find me."

"Mercedes, talk to him, go and talk to him, telling him how he hurt you, I know that you were hurt, I know that you were feeling down, so the only way to get past that is to talk to him, and either forgive him or marry him. Cause no matter what you say, you love him." She said standing. "Now you wanna focus on making me more money do it, but talk to the man."

"Alright Ms. Jones, we're about to open the doors for the signing! Also I think it was a great idea to hire a cowboy for this! So smart!" The bookstore manager said with a bright smile.

Mercedes looked at Santana who shook her head. "We… we didn't… there's a cowboy out there?" She asked, feeling a slight shiver run down her spine.

"Two actually, very handsome but one looks exactly like your man character! Good luck getting anyone to pay attention." She replied before walking away to open the doors.

"Okay what the hell did you two do?"

Santana held her hands. "Honestly, this isn't us… I didn't know anything about this! Let me call the agency and see…" She said as the doors opened and Mercedes looked only to let out a deep breath.

"Holy hell…"

I mean... cowboys are sexy lol
