Author's Note:
Hello my pretties,
Happy Monday to you all!
Hope you all had a great and safe weekend.
Anyway, here is the next chapter! It's short but sweet. Hope you all like it.
Meanwhile Bella's POV:
The hurt and pain of finding out that my dad had lied to me my entire life was almost too much to bear.
Yet there were so many emotions overwhelming me. At the moment, I couldn't just focus on one.
I was confused about why they had to lie to me. I mean, it means I understood the lie when I was a child but why not speak to me about it? Why continue the lie?
As time passed, the emotions turned into anger.
Why the hell did my father lie to me?
How could he lie to me?
I just don't understand. When I was growing up, he was always telling me that honesty and trust were big in a relationship.
My dad also happened to always tell me that my word held a lot of weight to it, so I had to be careful of what I spoke. That if I can't uphold my word, then there was no sense in promising.
Well, he lied to me.
He broke his promise to always be there for me, and now he's gone. I'm pretty sure that all of that advice just went out the window.
I couldn't exactly bother him now...
Yet I knew that I needed to talk to someone about this. Someone who will give me guidance, which I so badly need right now.
Someone who will be on my side. Someone who—
Alice!
She'd know what to do! She always knew what to do and she'd know exactly what to say to calm me down.
Would she answer though? It's around six over there….meaning she's either in class or on her way ...
It wouldn't hurt to try.
Without thinking twice I crawled off the bed, and rushed towards my purse to take out my phone.
Just as I was about to dial her number, when the door opened.
An unfamiliar, yet familiar man stood in the doorway.
"Miss. Swan? Our boss wants to speak to you." He said in a flat tone.
Boss? Who was the boss?
"W-who is the boss? And why does he want to see me?" I asked, dropping my phone back in my purse.
"It's better if you just come… he'll explain everything." He responded.
Well, what else did I have to lose?
Nothing, I suppose.
Without another word I slipped my shoes on and followed him out the door.
We walked down the hall back onto the elevator.
He pressed the third button on the right, before leaning back, as he held to his sides.
I followed him down a series of halls before we finally came to a stop in front of a set of double doors.
"He's waiting inside?" I asked.
The man simply nodded, pushing the doors open before gesturing to me to go inside.
Taking a deep breath, I squared my shoulders before walking in.
As I walked in my eyes nearly fell out of my head, as I saw who stood there.
"You?" I gasped, narrowing my eyes at him.
Edward's POV:
After thinking it over as I reorganized my office, I realized I couldn't do that to Isabella. Not if I wanted to get back on her good side.
Once I found everything back in order I slowly made my way back to my room.
Only to find it empty.
I looked around the room, and came up empty handed.
Maybe she was in the bathroom...
"Isabella?" I called, checking the bathroom, only to find it empty.
Where the hell did she go?
Panic quickly set in as I rushed into the closet and balcony, coming up empty handed both times.
As I walked into the room again, I pulled my phone out, calling the guards on this floor.
"Sir?" Garrett answered immediately.
"Where the hell is Isabella? Did she leave?" I asked frantically.
The line went quiet for a moment. Before he answered.
"No, sir. Your father asked to speak to her privately, she's in his office right now." Garrett replied.
What is she— oh fuck, that's not good.
"Did he — Did he tell you what he wanted to speak to her about?" I asked anxiously.
"No, sir. Just that he wished to speak to her." He replied.
Fucking hell! The old man got to her before I did.
I had to get her out of there before he scared her half to death.
"Great. Thanks." I said before hanging up.
Without a second thought I rushed out of my room, and towards the stairs.
Fuck I hope I get there in time…
