Kaorin awoke to find her mom shaking her. "Kaori, are you ok?" Her mom said, gently shaking her. She sat up, half of her hair a mess. "I'm" she yawned "I'm ok, don't worry. Just tired." She smiled over at her mom. "I'm going to go and make dinner soon, I'm sorry I was late getting home." Her mother left the room, closing the door behind her. She sat up and made her bed, then glanced over at her phone. "I have Miss Sakaki's phone number. Maybe I should text her... But what am I going to say? Ohhhhh now what? I have to send something, but what?" Kaorin thought. She put her phone down, and sat back down on her bed. "Maybe I'll think of something later..."

Sakaki walked back into her room after eating dinner. She had already showered and done her homework, so she got changed into a new pair of pajamas. She looked over at her phone. No new messages. "Is Kaorin going to text me? Or call me? Did she just do it as a joke?" She felt uneasy. Then a notification popped up on her phone from an unknown number.

"Is this Sakaki?"

"Yes. Is this Kaorin?"

"No, sorry. It's Kagura"

Kagura was in her bed, her room was completely dark, even thought it was only around 6:30. She felt anxious about her next message.

"Is it ok to call you?"

"Sure."

Kagura took a breath and hit the 'call' button. It began to ring.

"Hello?"

"Hey, Sakaki, it's me."

"How are you?"

"I'm good, what about you?"

"I'm good thank you."

"That's good. Um, I wanted to call, to apologize."

"Oh?"

"Yeah, I'm-" her voice began to crack "I'm sorry for always scaring cats away from you, and I'm sorry for always challenging you to things. I-I don't know why I do things like that, and I'm sorry for always doing them."

"It's ok, don't worry about it. It's all in the past."

"Thank you. From now on I won't do any of those to you."

"Thank you."

"I'm gonna go now. I'll see you tomorrow."

"Yeah, you too. Thanks for calling. It was nice to talk."

"You're welcome. Goodnight."

"Goodnight."

Kagura hung up, thinking about everything. She was glad that she had made things right, but hoped her apology would be enough.

Kaorin was staring at her phone. She checked the time. 8:12pm. She went into the messaging app and tried to figure out what to say. She gulped as she began typing. Her finger hovered above the send button, before tapping it. She immediately closed her phone and threw it to the end of her bed. Sakaki was in her room reading when she heard her phone's notification sound. She saw she had a message.

"Hello Miss Sakaki, it's

Kaorin. I'm sorry I didn't

send you anything earlier,

I was really nervous and

didn't know what to say"

"That's ok. I was

wondering if you were

going to text at all, haha."

"Yeah, sorry about that."

"It's ok. Also, since

we're going on a break

from school soon, do you

want to hang out, maybe?"

Kaorin stared at the message, her heart beating faster than it ever had before, a smile forming on her face.

"Yes, of course! Would

you, maybe, want to

spend the night at my

house on Friday?"

"Yes, I would love to."

"Ok, I'll be waiting :)"

"Haha, me too (:"

Kaorin smiled and put her phone down, laying down and falling into a pit of bliss. She didn't feel any sense of fear or anxiety over it, she felt totally happy. Sakaki was happy she would have someone to spend time with, and that she wouldn't be around to hear her parents yelling.

Sakaki and Chiyo were walking to school the next day. "So Miss Sakaki, do you have any plans for over the break?"

"I'm going to hang out at Kaorin's on Saturday, but other than that, not really."

"That's nice. You can come over to visit at any time, my parents have to work alot these next two weeks, so I'll be free!"

"Maybe we can hang out sometime."

"Yes, exactly!" The walk to school seemed alot shorter than usual for both of them. They entered their classroom and sat down. One by one, their friend group came in. While Kagura was talking to Sakaki, Tomo came up to them.

"So, Sakaki-Chan, how was your date with Kaorin yesterday?"

"Date?" Kagura and Sakaki both asked, surprised. Kaorin heard this and looked up from where she was. She got chills seeing Tomo there.

"Yeah, how was your guys date?" The wildcat said, catching Chiyo and Osaka's attention.

"It wasn't a date, I just went over to her house-

"To kiss?" Tomo puckered her lips, causing Kaorin to panic. Yomi walked up behind her and slapped her behind her head. "Owwww. Yomi!" While the two argued, Sakaki brushed it off and continued talking to Kagura. Chihiro came in and saw Kaorin's pale face. "Oh my gosh, Kaorin, what's wrong? Are you sick? Kaorin looked up to her best friend. "I'm ok, yeah. Don't worry about me!"

The week flew by very fast. Sakaki's father had come home on Wednesday, but there hadn't been any yelling, which made her happy. She and Kaorin had been talking at night, trying to come up with something to do on Saturday, eventually deciding to binge an entire season of a TV show. Eventually, Friday had come. As they were all getting ready to leave the class, Tomo came up to Sakaki.

"So, is that the shirt your girlfriend sewed up for you?" She asked, making Kaorin turn her head.

"Didn't you already use that joke on Monday?" Sakaki asked, oblivious to Tomo's intentions.

"Oh, so you guys aren't dating yet?"

"Yet?"

"Yeah, didn't you know-" Tomo looked over to Kaorin, who was turning red and heavily sweating, "Kaorin had a massive crush on you?" Sakaki tried to make sense of Tomo's joke, but couldn't.

"Um, I'm going home. See you on Monday." Tomo was left to deal with Kaorin, who felt emotions of sadness and anger grow inside her. She ran up to the girl and punched her in her face.

"WHY WOULD YOU DO THAT!" She yelled, being audible from even the hallway.

"Owww, you didn't have to hurt me." Kaorin began to shake, and ran out of the class room in tears. "Nice job, Tomo." The teacher said, staring at her. "Miss Yukari, aren't you doing to do some-"

"Nope, not at all, I'd say you're almost equal now." Tomo mumbled her own profanities off walking next to Yomi.
