Sakaki walked up to Kaorin's house and knocked on the door. She was dressed in a long sleeved shirt and a pair of jeans. She opened the door to see Kaorin, also dressed in a long sleeved shirt and pants.
"Hello Miss Sakaki!" Kaorin cheerfully said. "Hi Kaorin, how are you?" She asked, taking her shoes off.
"I'm good thank you. My mom's almost done with dinner, so you can get set up in my room while you wait."
Walking into her room, there was a futon next to her bed. She noticed a stuffed animal on her friends bed.
"Is that stuffed animal yours?" Sakaki asked, putting her own bag down and pointing. Kaorin looked over to her messy bed to see her stuffed animal still on it.
"Oh, um, it's, uhh.." she started to blush.
"It's ok, I sleep with one too." She opened her bag up and showed her the plush cat that had been won a almost week prior. Kaorin blushed even more furiously.
"Y-you really sleep with it?" Kaorin asked.
"Normamlly, I use a different stuffed animal, but I like using this for when I'm away from home." Kaorin went over to her bed and grabbed her stuffed animal.
"Well uh, this is Penguin, who's a penguin." It was round, but not a sphere. Sakaki held it up and blushed.
"I-It's quite cute."
"Just like you..." Kaorin thought.
"Kaori, dinner is ready!" Her mother announced.
"Coming Mom!"
"Thank you for dinner ma'am, it was very nice." Sakaki said placing her dish in the kitchen sink. "Thank you! You're very polite." Sakaki and Kaorin's mother exchanged a smile. "Kaori, I'll be in my room for the rest of the night if you need me." She lent in to hug her, making Kaorin blush for the 4th time that day.
"Mommy, you said you wouldn't do this..." She whispered as her mother pulled away. The two girls walked back to Kaorin's room, closing the door behind them. "So can you play that?" She asked, pointing over to her keyboard.
"Oh yes, I can play quite a few songs on there."
"Do you, think you could, maybe, teach me how to play?"
"Of course Miss Sakaki!"
Kaorin had Sakaki sit down on the stool and told her where to put her fingers, and which keys were which. She taught her how to play a simple song, using only one hand. Sakaki was able to get the hand of things and was able to play it well within a few tries. "That was great Miss Sakaki!" Kaorin exclaimed as she clapped.
"You think so?"
"Yes, of course! It sounded really good!"
"Can you play me one of the songs you know please?"
"Ok, if you want me to!"
She sat down where Sakaki was and began playing a classical piece on the piano. She stood amazed as Kaorin gracefully played. The song resonated with her on some level, it made her feel somewhat melancholic. Kaorin finished playing the piece and turned around to her friend.
"Well, how did it sound?"
"Kaorin, that was beautiful."
She blushed when she heard this. "Th-thank you Miss Sakaki."
"So, you call your mom Mommy?" She teased, making Kaorin blush. Standing up from her stool.
"H-hey! How do you know that?!" She said, getting slightly ticked off.
"I heard you say it in the kitchen. I'm not telling anyone, I was just teasing."
Kaorin loosened her stance and stepped back from her.
"I'm sorry for getting all defensive like that...I don't do that all the time, I promise."
Sakaki smiled. "Don't worry, I would've done the same. I don't normally tease though, I'll stop doing it from now on."
"Thanks. Tomo Teases alot though."
"Yeah, I know what you mean. She said something about you today that made me confused."
Kaorin began to feel chills, and felt scared
"Oh, I'm, what was it?"
"She said something about you liking me. It's the second time this week she's used that joke on Monday, so it was odd to hear it from her again so soon."
Kaorin was emotionally trapped, she wanted to tell her how she felt, but she didn't want to cause a rapture in her newfound friendship.
"I hate Tomo." She blatently said. "She's really annoying and isn't nice at all."
"I know what you mean. She isn't very nice."
"I know, right! She alway picks on me whenever she can and I can't do anything about it. She-she just makes me feel worthless sometimes." She plopped down on the end of her bed, putting her hands in her lap.
"I can talk to her for you." Kaorin looked up to her friend.
"Really? Thank you!" She felt like hugging her.
