"COMING!" Chiyo-Chan yelled, running down the stairs with Mr. Tadakichi following her. She opened up her front door to see Osaka.
"Heya Chiyo-Chan!" She said, smiling happily.
"Hello Miss Osaka! I'm almost ready, I'll be out in one minute!" She ran back to put on a pair of shoes.
"Ok Mr. Tadakichi, I'll be back later. Goodbyeeee!" She said, closing the door to her house. Osaka and Chiyo began walking away to go shopping.
"So do ya parents leave ya alone very often?" Osaka asked.
"No, not really, it's only ever happened a once before. What about you? Have your parents ever left you alone?"
"Yeah, they haven't been home since a few weeks after I moved here."
Chiyo blankly stared at her friend.
"I'm just messing with ya, they don't leave that often."
"Phew..." Chiyo sighed.
When they reached the mall, the duo began to make their way to the upper floor. "Ya know" Osaka started, "an elevator can't really break, if an escalator breaks, you just say "escalator broken" but if you have an elevator break, you can just say it's a set of stairs for a while. Think about it: what's stopping ya from just using them as normal stairs anyway."
"Uhh, you have those terms mixed up again Osaka." The both awkwardly stared at eachother for a while, until Osaka broke the silence.
"Ah well, you know what I mean!" She started to laugh, causing Chiyo to laugh too. They made their way to the book store afterwards.
"So what books do you like Miss Osaka?"
"Sometimes ah read manga, but ah really love them dictionaries. There's so many different words in there..."
"Oh, I've never read a full dictionary before. I love manga and light novels, though!"
"Ya like 'em for the pictures?"
"I do like the stories, but yeah, the pictures are so good!
"Oh, I like 'em for the drawings alot!"
They decided to go clothes shopping next. They went down an escalator and walked into the store.
"What type of clothes do ya wear most of the time?"
"Hmm, well, normally in spring, I like wearing skirts with tights, and then short sleeved t-shirts."
"Ahhh, ya see, I normally wear a dress and a cardigan or somethin' in spring. In winter I like to wear these long skirts instead, and then in the summer it's just skirts and tank tops, or a dress."
"Wow, you have a very varied assortment of clothing."
"Hey, ah recognize some of them words from one of those dictionaries I read!"
"Okay, I'm coming!" The protagonist of the show said, flying towards the floating castle. The screen cut to black and the credits rolled. Sakaki and Kaorin stared at the screen, then looked at eachother.
"That show was amazing!" They said together.
"I had no idea it was that good, if it was, I would have watched it way sooner!" Kaorin said, taking out the dvd and putting it in it's case.
"Yeah, it was incredible."
"Do you think we should call Chihiro and tell her how good it was?"
"Yeah."
Chihiro was in her room laying on her bed when her phone rang. She reached over for it and picked it up.
"Hello?"
"Chihiro, me and Miss Sakaki just watched the entire season of that anime you bought me for Christmas! It was amazing!"
"I'm glad you two enjoyed it, it's one of my favorite anime shows!"
"Well you have great taste in anime Chihiro! Anyway, talk to you later!"
"Okay, goo-" Kaorin hung up the phone before she could finish. She looked at her watch. 7:08.
"Say, it's getting kind of late, you should probably get going, it'll be dark soon."
"Oh, yeah. You're right. I had better get ready."
Kaorin helped Sakaki pack and tidied up her room while her friend was getting changed.
"Thank you for having me." She said, bowing to both of them.
"That's alright, I'm glad you and Kaorin had a good time."
"Goodbye Miss Sakaki." She said, waving away her friend as she left the house.
Your friend is very polite." Kaorin's mother said.
"Yeah, I guess she is. I wish I could be more like her."
Her mother became confused at hearing this.
"Oh? You're also very polite, don't think I was comparing her to you, dear.'
"I know. She just seems better than me."
"Oh don't say that you're perfect the way you are."
She embraced her daughter, who did the same in return.
"Thank you Mommy."
When Sakaki got home, it was late. She opened up the door to her house and saw both her parents sitting in the living room.
"Sakaki?" Her mother said.
"Yes Mom?"
"Can you, come in here please?"
She laid her bag down on the floor and went in to sit with her family.
"What's wrong?" She asked her parents. Sakaki's mother sighed as she looked her daughter in the eye.
"Your father and I are getting a divorce."
