"R-really?" Sakaki asked, trembling in her seat. Her parents silently nodded. There was a moment of silence between the family. "I-I'm going to unpack..." Sakaki softly said, slowly getting up and walked over to her bag, picking it up and going to her room. She closed her door and began unpacking, holding back tears. She tried getting her mind off of what had happened by unpacking, but it didn't help. She eventually collapsed down onto her bed in tears. She cried into her pillow, muffling her tears. She pulled her stuffed cat closer to her, trying to comfort herself. She got up and turned her lights off, before falling back down onto her bed. She tried to fall asleep to music, but it wasn't sound good. She tried white noise by using the radio built in, which worked well. She eventually fell asleep, her pillow glazed with her tears.
She woke up to find herself in the same mood, not feeling like eating or getting up at all. She laid in her bed and went back to sleep to escape the new reality she was forced into. Waking up again at 11:57 and then again at 2:35, she didn't feel any better. Beginning to go back to sleep, she saw a notification on her phone. It was from her friend Kaorin.
"Hello Miss Sakaki!
How are you?"
"Hi, I'm not so
good, how are
you?"
"Oh, I'm sorry.
What's wrong?
You don't have to
tell me if you don't
want to"
Sakaki was wondering if she should tell her or not, while Kaorin anxiously waited.
"Family things."
Kaorin began to think about what it could be, before replying.
"I understand, I'm
here if you need to
talk about anything
at all, or if you need
anything at all"
"Thank you."
Sakaki laid her phone down and closed her eyes again, trying to sleep but knowing she couldn't. She mulled over things in her head, feeling only a little better than Kaorin had offered her help. After thinking about things, she remembered what Chiyo had said about her parents being free. She picked up her phone and began to look for Chiyo's phone number, not finding it there. She decided to ask Kaorin.
"Do you happen
to have Chiyo-
Chan's number?"
"Yeah, would you
like it?"
"Yes please."
"Ok, it's
555-867-5309"
"Thank you very
much Kaorin."
"You are very
welcome Miss
Sakaki :)"
Chiyo and Osaka were playing at Chiyo's house outside, throwing a frisbee back and forth with Mr. Tadakichi occasionally jumping up to grab it.
"Yah know, ah ain't no good with them balls, but frisbees are fun. They're not too hard to throw and they ain't too fast either."
"Yes Miss Osaka, I prefer these ones to those bigger balls!"
"Say, do ya think Miss Kagura is gonna bring a ball with her?"
"Probably, she does like sports alot."
Chiyo and Osaka kept throwing the frisbee until they heard the phone ringing. Chiyo ran inside to pick it up.
"Mihama Residence."
"Hi, Chiyo-Chan, it's me, Sakaki."
"Miss Sakaki! How are you?"
"I'm...ok. I was wondering, can I come over to your house please?"
"Of course! Would you like to stay over too? Osaka's here, Kagura is coming over later today, Tomo and Yomi couldn't come because they had their own plans."
"Yes, that would be nice."
"Ok, come over when you're ready!"
"Thank you."
Sakaki hung up the phone and worked up the courage to get out of bed, and begun to pack. While she did this, she mind began to wonder.
"Am I intruding on them? Do they really want me there at all or am I just a burden? Are they going to be mean to me? Maybe she won't let me in because she doesn't want me, I'll just spend my time in here some more. I hope she's serious about letting me stay there."
She finished packing, grabbed her coat, and made her way to the door. She walked past her mother in the kitchen.
"Where are you going sweetie?"
"To a friend's house. For a while."
She closed the door behind her so as not to hear her mother's reply. She felt slight anger at her parents for breaking up. They had been together almost 19 years, why would they want to break up now?
"Hey Chiyo, it's me!" Kagura said as Chiyo unlocked the door.
"Hello Miss Kagura, please come in!" Chiyo said, welcoming her guest. Osaka came in to see Kagura with the large white dog walking close next to her.
"Heya Miss Kagura. How are ya?"
"I'm great thanks!"
They all went up into Chiyo's second room where Osaka and Kagura sat down while Chiyo left to make tea.
"Say Kagura, how did ya get so fit?"
"I work out every day."
"Oh, so how did ya start?"
"I used to run alot so I started to jog frequently, then I started to do some more exercises."
"So if ya take a break for a week, does it all go away?"
"Nope, I normally stop exercising alot on school breaks, I normally only jog occasionally."
"So then if ya just stopped one day, and never ever did it again, would ya be like me?"
"Hmm, I don't know."
Chiyo then walked into the room with the tea, laying it down on the table.
"Hey, why's there 4 cups?" Kagura asked
"Miss Sakaki is joining us soon."
She then heard a knock at the door.
"There she is!"
