"Hello Miss Sakaki!" Chiyo cheerfully said, welcoming the tall girl into her house. A small smile formed on her face.
"Hello Chiyo."
"How are you?"
"I'm good, you?"
"I'm great!"
Chiyo closed the door behind Sakaki and ushered her upstairs. She walked in to Osaka and Kagura talking.
"So what do ya like to do when you don't swim or play video games or exercise or sleep?"
"Umm, I mean, I hang out with you guys."
"Hello everyone! Miss Sakaki is here now."
"Ah hey Miss Sakaki. We was just talking about Kagura."
"No, you were asking about me. But it's good to see you. How are you doing?"
"I'm doing good."
She sat down at the table and joined them in having tea.
"Are you all staying over too?" Sakaki asked them, sipping her tea occasionally.
"Yeah, ah'm gonna stay over most of the break."
"Haha, me too. My parents are normally around but I don't really spend alot of time with you guys, so I thought it'd be nice to."
"Yeah! I'm really glad the four of us could spend time together!"
Sakaki silently nodded.
When night came, Kagura and Sakaki had to share the futon together while Osaka would share Chiyo's bed, her pet dog being a divider between them. Sakaki laid on her side of the bed, unable to sleep. She rolled over, forgetting that Kagura was laying next to her. It caught her attention and she spoke up.
"Hey Sakaki" she began to whisper "are you ok?" Sakaki opened her eyes to see Kagura looking over at her.
"Oh, I'm fine." She proceeded to roll over again, feeling bad for disturbing Kagura.
"Sorry for disturbing you."
"It's ok, you didn't disturb me. Is there anything on your mind? You didn't really seem yourself when we were hanging out earlier."
Sakaki felt like breaking down inside from her bringing it up. She didn't want to say anything at all, so she nodded her head while she still laying down.
"Do you want to talk about it?"
She shook her head no.
"That's ok. I'm your friend, and I understand if you don't want to talk to me about it now or ever. But I'm here for you if you need to talk or need someone or anything like that, ok?"
Sakaki nodded her head, a whispered out "thanks."
"I hope you'll feel better tomorrow."
Kaorin was laying in her bed trying not to cry. She had sent Sakaki a message a few hours ago and she hadn't gotten any response back at all.
"She hates me. She hates me she hates me she hates me. I shouldn't have sent that, she won't like me anymore. I've ruined my relationship with her." A few hours prior, she sent a message to Sakaki, but she hadn't replied yet. "Why would I send that? I just wanted to know, because she likes cats. Why did I have to ask something like that? I'm so stupid. She isn't going to like me anymore. I've messed up." She laid in her bed, shaking and beginning to tear. "Why..."
Sakaki woke up on her bed by Mr. Tadakichi licking her nose. She opened her eyes to see the dogs tounge extended out, while Osaka and Chiyo's giggles from just behind the door were faintly audible. Sakaki reached down, pulled her phone up, and rolled over. She checked her messages and opened her unread one.
"Do you think
rabbits are cute?
I think they look
really cute"
Sakaki smiled at this and wrote a reply. She then rolled back over to pet the the dogs head.
Kaorin was in her room still sleeping, and was awoken by her phone's notification sound going off. She picked it up and read the new message.
"Not as much as.
cats, but they are
cute at times."
She smiled and began to type her response back.
"I see haha. By
the way, do you
maybe want to
hang out today,
or tomorrow?"
Sakaki, Chiyo, Kagura and Osaka were on their way to the park that was near to Chiyo's house. It was a sunny day and relatively warm out. When they arrived, Osaka and Chiyo walked over to the swings, while Sakaki and Kagura sat down on a bench.
"Chiyo maybe have a big brain, but she's a child at heart."
"Osaka too."
"Not as much as Chiyo though."
Kagura laughed and Sakaki smiled.
"Are you feeling any better?"
Sakaki's smile went away.
"I-I'm sorry." Kagura said, panicking and looking away.
"It's ok. I'm better." There was a moment of silence between the two of them, the only noise being Chiyo's laughter coming from Osaka pushing her on the swing.
"I, I'm sorry for annoying you since we've been in the same homeroom."
Sakaki looked up.
"What do you mean?"
"In class, whenever we talk, I know that when I'm talking you, I'm not always talking about the most interesting things, and I'm sorry if I get on your nerves alot."
"Y-you don't get on my nerves at all."
Kaorin looked over to her friend, seeing her still looking off into nothing.
"I like it when you talk to me. Sometimes it feels like no one is interested in me at all, so it means alot that you would choose to talk to me."
Kagura smiled at this. Osaka was blissfully sitting on the swing while Chiyo struggled to push her more than a few centimetres.
