Kagura woke up shaking in her bed. It was extremely cold in the room for some reason. Kaorin was up for the same reason. She could feel Kagura moving in the bed slightly.
"Kagura?" She whispered.
"Yeah?" Kagura replied.
"Are you cold too?"
"Yeah, it's freezing in here."
"Maybe someone left a window open or something. It wasn't this cold earlier."
"You're right."
The two were silent for a minute.
"Do you, um, want to move closer? To get warm?" asked Kagura.
"Y-yes please."
Kaorin abandoned her stuffed animal and the two of them moved closer together. Their sides were touching eachother, but they weren't feeling any warmer.
"Um, should we, um..." Kaorin began.
"I-I guess, yeah." Her friend could already guess what she was going to ask. They rolled to face eachother and placed an arm over eachother.
"I feel warmer now." Kaorin began nervously laughing for a few seconds.
"M-me too."
"I don't like you or anything. Not like that."
"Oh, I know. Don't worry about it. We should probably sleep now."
"You're right. Goodnight Miss Kagura."
"You don't have to call me Miss Kagura. I prefer Kagura."
"Oh, I'm so sorry. I'll just call you Kagura, ok?"
"Sounds good. Goodnight."
They drifted away into sleep shortly after.
Kaorin was in an arcade with Chihiro. The two of them were walking around until they saw a photo booth.
"Let's go in!" Chihiro exclaimed, as they ran into it together. When they went in, Kaorin looked over to find Sakaki where Chihiro would be. Kaorin looked up at her. They didn't say a word, but just looked at eachother while being surrounded by white noise. They both leaned into eachother, closing their eyes and embracing it.
Kagura was walking around an empty school, her footsteps echoing throughout the hallway. She went into her class to see a boy there. The two stared at eachother for a while, before she broke the silence.
"I didn't think I would see you here."
"Neither did I."
They began to walk closer to one another, inching closer until they were only a few feet apart.
"I love you, Kagura." The boy said, moving Kagura's short hair behind her ears.
"I love you too." She responded, blushing due to the fact she had never anticipated this happening. She saw a faint reflection of herself in his glasses, as she leaned in and laid her lips on his.
Chiyo walked up to her bedroom door to check on her friends. She couldn't quite see onto their bed, so she assumed that they were still sleeping.
"Heya, Chiyo-Chan, are they sleepin'?" Osaka asked as she walked up to the small girl.
"I can't really make it out, they may talking."
Osaka peered in through the door, her eyes widening as she saw what was happening.
"OH MAH GAH!" She bellowed out, her scream audible from most parts of the house.
"What is it!" Chiyo wondered.
"Oh, um, ah." Osaka began to think of an excuse. Suddenly, she got an idea.
"They sleep talkin' in there, I ain't never seen it before."
"Oh really?" Chiyo asked.
"Nah, not really."
"Huh?"
Kagura and Kaorin began to wake up due to the abnormally loud sound. They opened their eyes, looking into one another's eyes, and suddenly feeling their lips pursed against one another's. Their eyes widened before pulling away and letting out another blood curdling scream.
Sakaki heard this from the other room and ran into the hallway to see what was wrong.
"Osaka, Chiyo-Chan, what happened?" She worryingly said.
Osaka walked up to her and whispered into her ear. Sakaki's eyes widened in disbelief, surprised at what she had been told. Meanwhile, the two were staring at eachother, scared and shocked and confused.
"Y-you said you didn't like me..." Kagura said out loud.
"Y-you were putting e-effort in too..." Kaorin hastily replied. The older girls standing outside the door knew it was time to go, taking Chiyo away with them.
"Did you-"
"N-no! Of course I didn't mean to! D-did you?"
"No, no! I didn't!"
The two were silent again, Kaorin afraid of what she was going to do.
"Do you like me? J-Just tell me if you do!"
"N-No! I don't! I didn't mean to do that, I'm sorry!"
They stared at eachother again, both sides wondering what to do.
"I'm sorry, Kagura."
She looked at Kaorin for a while longer, then looked away from her and got out of bed, grabbing her duffle bag and closing the door behind her. She laid back in the bed, trying to find the will to get up.
Kagura walked downstairs dressed to see Sakaki and Osaka sitting at Chiyo's dining table, also dressed.
"Good mornin' Miss Kagura!"
She got chills just from hearing that.
"Hey Osaka, good morning to you too."
"Miss Kagura, how are you?" A bright eyed Chiyo asked.
"I'm ok."
"We saw you talking in your sleep this morning, is that why you wanted to sleep on the couch?"
Kagura was confused for a moment. The two others began to sweat and look away, quickly taking a bite of their toast Chiyo had made for them. A switch flipped for Kagura.
"Nononononono, that, that was a one off, I don't normally... no, I don't."
She had begun to blush and began to look down.
"It's ok, don't worry! I'm going to go check on Miss Kaorin, you can help yourself to some toast."
She walked up to her room and knocked on the door.
"Miss Kaorin?"
Kaorin opened up the door, dressed in a pair of pants and a sweater, smiling cheerfully.
"Good morning Chiyo, did you sleep well?"
"Yes I did, thank you. Did you? Apparently you were sleep talking this morning."
"Oh, I was? That's odd."
Kaorin had already pieced together what she meant.
"It's ok. Come on, breakfast is downstairs!"
The girls had decided to go to the arcade again. Kagura was making an effort to avoid Kaorin after what happened that morning. When they arrived, Chiyo and Sakaki split off to try the claw machines, Kagura went on her own, leaving Osaka and Kaorin to roam by herself. As they walked around, looking for a game to play, Osaka tried to start a conversation.
"So how was ya kiss with Kagura?"
Kaorin's eyes widened at this. She immediately slapped her hand over Osaka's mouth before pushing her into the photo booth they were walking past.
"Who told you that?"
"I saw you two, then Sakaki did. Chiyo doesn't know, though, she's too young to know 'bout kissing."
Kaorin ignored the last part she had heard.
"Look, we were, but we weren't. It wasn't, so we didn't want to, it was we were cold so we were sleeping closer, and when we woke up we were kissing. I don't know how it happened and now she hates me."
Osaka took a minute to take everything in.
"Are y'all gay?"
Kaorin vigorously blushed.
"N-no! Didn't you hear what I said? I don't know how it happened."
"Ah, sorry, I thought ya were just makin' an excuse or somethin'."
They walked out to try and find Kagura so that Kaorin to make ammends.
"Hey look, it's Kagura!" Osaka said, pointing over to some fighting game cabinets.
"Ah got it! Kaorin, go and against her on that game."
"What? I can't play that game, I've never played it before."
"Come on, I'll help ya. I'm good at that one."
She grabbed Kaorin's hand, before pausing again.
"You ain't gay, are ya?"
"Wha- just go!"
She guided her through the labyrinth that was the bustling arcade and eventually reached the game.
"Ok, so just sit down and put in some money." Osaka whispered. Kaorin complied and a match began to start up.
"Ok, so shift that up to jump, and then left or right to move."
Kaorin tried out the controls, but was stopped by her opponent beginning to ambush her. She tried to react but couldn't land a single hit. The character was blasted back, as the screen faded to black, then back to normal.
"Osaka, I can't do this, it's too hard."
"Here, I'll show ya."
She lent over and began to play, matching Kagura's skill level, which confused her. They came close but Kagura ultimately won.
"You said you could beat her." Kaorin whispered.
"Ah know, but she's just too strong for me."
Kagura peered over to see who she was fighting against, and saw Kaorin whispering with Osaka over why they couldn't bear her. She immediately turned away and went in search of Sakaki and Chiyo.
