They friends were sat around Chiyo's table while the rain continued to fall.
"There's alot of rain today, ain't there?" Osaka remarked.
"Yes, there really is." Replied the young girl. Osaka looked over to Kagura's poofed up hair, and began to feel it out of curiosity. She bounced it gently and began to laugh.
"The rain always makes my hair messy." Osaka said after toying with the hair for a while. She slowly pulled her hand away afterwards.
"Mine doesn't really stick up at all, unless I sleep on it the wrong way. Then it'll get all messed up." Kaorin piped up, after being silent for a while.
"I don't worry about my hair, I just make sure to brush it every morning and then put them into pigtails."
Osaka thought for a moment.
"Hey Chiyo-Chan, what would I look like in pig tails?" She asked after a moment of thinking. Chiyo thought for a minute, then got up and grabbed a small plastic box from under her bed. She bought it to her table and opened it up, and gave Osaka two hair ties.
"Try it!" She exclaimed. Osaka parted her hair in two and put each side into a pigtail.
"How do I look, y'all?" She asked. Kagura and Kaorin complimented her, while Sakaki slightly nodded.
"It looks great Miss Osaka!" Chiyo pushed the box to Sakaki.
"You try, Miss Sakaki." Sakaki's face turned red at this.
"A-are you sure. I haven't worn them since I was younger."
Chiyo nodded and took the box back, pulling out two hair ties with bows attached to them.
"Try these, they suit you." Chiyo suggested, offering them to her. Sakaki nervously took them and split her hair in two. She wrapped the tie around each bunch of hair, looking down for an easier time tying them. She looked up, Kaorin and Chiyo smiling greatly.
"You look so cute Miss Sakaki!" They exclaimed in unison. The other two nodded their heads at it. Sakaki, however, began to feel self conscious about it all. She pulled out the hair ties and put them onto the table.
"Aww you looked so good in them." Chiyo told her.
"S-sorry." She said, looking down.
"I-its ok though, your natural hair looks really nice too!" Kaorin said, trying to support her friend.
"Thanks."
"I can't believe we'll be leaving school this year." Kagura said, shifting the subject. She stared out the window as she said this.
"Yes, plus it's Thursday, we only have just about a week left of the break. Time flies really fast when you're having fun." Chiyo piped up.
"Hey, how's that work?" Osaka asked.
"Huh?" Kagura replied.
"Y'know, time moving faster for some people. Can ya control time by having fun?"
"Not really, it's still the same speed, you just go through it faster because of the fact you're enjoying yourself." Kaorin offered.
"Then how would me having a bad time make it move slower if someone's already having fun?" Osaka queried.
"Ah, well, you think times moving faster, but it's not. You just think it is because you aren't looking at a clock constantly." explained Chiyo.
Osaka pondered this for a minute, then got distracted by floaties in her eyes.
"Chiyo-Chan, do you sleep with any stuffed animals?" Kaorin asked.
Chiyo shook her head.
"Nope, not any more, I'm too old for that."
Everyone but Osaka turned red as they heard this.
"Why does it have to rain so much? It's nice to listen to but it's a pain to go outside." Kagura bought up, slumping onto the table.
"Don't worry, we can always hope it stops tomorrow. Then we can spend the day out again." Chiyo brightly pointed out.
"Oh yeah, I gotta leave tomorrow evening, I have to get some stuff done over the weekend."
"I should probably leave to," Kaorin began, "I want to try and spend some time with my mom and Chihiro before the breaks over. We can still hangout again, though."
"I should go too." Sakaki followed on. She knew she didn't want to leave, but she felt like she would be intruding otherwise.
"That's ok, you guys can go."
"Ah'm gonna stay, Chiyo, don't you worry."
Osaka trailed on. She mumbled something else and fell asleep again.
"Hey Chiyo-Chan, what are your parents jobs?" Asked Kagura.
"They both work for a bank, I don't know much more than that."
"So did they get rich from taking he money from the bank?" She teased.
"N-no! They my made all of it by working!" Chiyo desperately yelped back.
"Are you sure? This is a pretty big house after all." Kaorin joined in. Sakaki could tell Chiyo was growing uncomfortable
"Stop, it's upsetting her." She shouted out. She noticed everyone looking at her, which made her face down and place her palms on her lap.
"S-sorry."
They were silent for a while, until Osaka began to start talking again.
Night came and they all were in their beds trying to sleep. Sakaki stayed up, her mind plauged by her thoughts of what had happened earlier. She was quiet throughout the rest of the day, barely speaking even when she was spoken to. She laid in a melancholic state until she felt a small hand tap her shoulder.
"Miss Sakaki?" Chiyo whispered. Sakaki rolled over and looked at her.
"Thank you for earlier. I appreciate it." She patted Sakaki's head and then rolled back over. Sakaki smiled and rolled back over aswell.
