Update on 05/01/2024: Well, since I've changed the Riser arc about, there's a lot of difference compared to what actually went down. Drake, Rias and the others still train, even though Drake knows he cannot compete in the Rating Game but that won't stop him from training to grow stronger and make his enemies fear his power.

On a hot, sunny day that was devoid of any clouds to provide any refreshing shade, within a lush green forest were Rias Gremory, her Peerage, and her future fiancé. All of them walked uphill towards a mansion that was at the top of the hill. Although the path they walked on had some boulders, it was nonetheless smooth and stable, making it an easy climb.
They were going hiking up to the Gremoy Family mansion that Rias said would be where they'll be staying for the next two weeks to train and prepare for the Rating Game.
Rias was leading her group with Akeno and Asia right behind. A bit back, Drake and Kiba were casually walking while carrying a full backpack on their backs. Closely following them, Koneko was carrying a full backpack as well but was twice the size and width than any of the guy's bodies. Behind her, Issei was struggling to carry half the amount that Koneko was carrying. Reaching the top of the hill, they looked down to see a large mansion surrounded by trees.
After another half hour, the entire ORC had reached the mansion where they got a good look. The mansion is a large 2-story tall building that is similar to an English Mansion. Getting inside, Rias instructed them to change since they're going to start their training.
Koneko had changed into her P.E. uniform, short-sleeve shirt, bloomers, and sneakers. Akeno wore her priestess clothes, Asia wore just her school uniform, and finally Rias wore the winter P.E. uniform (red color).
Like Rias, Kiba and Issei changed into the same P.E. uniform but blue color. Drake simply took his red coat off and if he got too hot, then his tanktop would be removed.
Stretching themselves a bit, everyone started off on getting ready. Drake had done a 2-mile parkour run to get his blood flowing. Once he was done, the son of Sparda noticed that Issei and Kiba were sparring with wooden swords. Standing a bit away from the two, Rias and everyone else were watching.
"Oi… what's with slap show…?" Drake curiously asked as he witnessed Issei getting hit over the head by one of Kiba's sword strike.
"Well, Drake, I'm just trying to see if Issei has any talent in swordsmanship." Rias answered where they heard the sound of a thump. Both turned to see Kiba had hit Issei's shoulder. "Unfortunately, it looks like he might not have a talent for it."
"Well, if your using today's lesson, then it's only natural since by the way he's holding that wooden sword, he's never trained in it." Drake replied
"I'm going to let Issei train with Kiba for another hour before he'll begin his magic lesson with Akeno, while you can then train with Kiba since you'll need to be ready to fight Riser." Said Rias. Drake nodded in agreement.
It's been several days since the ORC began their two-week training vacation. During that time, Drake had several intense training lessons.
The first day was mostly training with Kiba, where the two were on even ground for the first couple of hours. Drake switched between using Rebellion and Yamato, as while he was training himself he was also training Kiba to sharpen his reflexes and senses, especially when he used speed to strike with Yamato.
The next day, Drake had trained with Akeno and Rias in their magic lesson. It was here that they learned, nearly an hour into the session, that Drake was capable of summoning blue spectral swords and blades which he decided to call a 'Style'. Ever since awakening his demonic power, he's named four abilities as part of his 'Styles', them being Trickster. Gunslinger, Swordmaster and Royal Guard. With the style unlocked thanks to Yamato, he called it the Darkslayer Style.
On the third day, Drake was training with Koneko in hand-to-hand combat. The two went at it for the entire day, toppling trees or smacking into them.
During the days that Drake was training with each individuals, the others trained as well. Asia has been training to increase her magic reserves. While Issei had been going through a similar training with Drake, but not as harshly except in strength training that involved a boulder on his back while jogging and other exercises.
Right now, Drake, along with everyone else, was finishing up getting ready to hit the bed. On the first day, everyone was assigned a room except for Drake and Rias, the redhead having made it clear she will be sleeping in Drake's bed for the next two weeks leading up to the Rating Game. The half-Devil couldn't even argue... as he did miss Rias' presence beside him while sleeping.
Lying on the bed, Drake enjoyed the pleasant cool feeling that his pillow was giving his head. After another long day of training, Drake was ready to sleep. Hearing a door open, he looked to his side to see Rias walking out of the bathroom, completely naked. However, for once, the sight of her fully naked didn't leave him staring like a idiot. Making her way into their bed, she comfortably lay onto his side where he wrapped his arm around her.
Feeling each other's body warmth, Rias and Drake comfortably embrace each other as they prepared to sleep. Rias suddenly sighed and moved so she can lean her arms on Drake's chest and look at him.
"What did you mean when you said Riser tried to assassinate you?" She asked. It had been something on her mind, but she's never had the chance to ask him about it.
Drake told her about the job he was informed of after his return from Kyoto, but it had been a set-up by Riser's three servants, Yubelluna, Xuelan and Karlamine in an effort to kill him on Riser's orders. They hadn't expected an actual demon to show up and cause complications, but they worked together and walked away without deciding to fight, as Karlamine said they were in his debt.
"Guess Riser was right when he thought I was a threat to his plans to have you." Drake said with a chuckle.
Rias sighed again and cuddled up against him. "Drake... you know I'm the heiress of the Gremory family, right?" She suddenly asked him.
"Yeah." Drake nodded.
"You see, no matter where I go, the Gremory name always followed me. I don't dislike the fact that I'm a Gremory, I'm proud of it but it is also a nuisance to me as well. Wherever I go, everyone sees me as Rias Gremory, not as Rias. This is the reason why I came to the human world since no one knows about me here. Everyone here saw me as me which I adore it." She explained as she took a breath.
Drake stayed quiet as he listened to the redheaded beauty.
"… my one little dream… is to be with someone who loves, 'Rias'." Rias said as she looked at Drake who looked at her, fully enraptured by her story. A frown grew on rias' face as she continued. "Riser loves me as 'Rias Gremory'… and I don't want that." She sighed. "We've got our work cut out for us."
"Is he really that good?"
"His abilities are the same as the legendary bird his family's named after. Immortality."
"Right..." Drake said with a frown, remembering Riser's eyes regenerating after Drake shot them out.
"He's indestructible. He regenerates immediately following an attack. His family's flames won't even leave a bone left. Riser win-to-loss ratio is 8 to 2. However, he lost those matches on purpose out of respect for the households he's close to. Ever since the Rating Games were put into effect, the House of Phoenix has dominated the playing field. They've always had the highest score. Can't say I'm surprised." Rias looked at Drake. "How are you supposed to win against someone who's immortal?"
Drake stared at her for a few seconds to take in the information he was given before laying his head back down with a sigh. "This is FUBAR," he groaned.
"FUBAR?" Rias tilted her head in confusion. "What's that?"
"Fuck-Up-Beyond-All-Recognition," he said. Rias stared at him for a moment before started laughing hysterically. Drake was a little surprised by this, but started laughing with her. It was a sweet moment for them as they continued to laugh with each other before calming down to let air in their lungs against.
"That's basically the whole situation," she said between giggles. However, her giggles faded and a somber look took over. "We're going to lose."
"Hey, have faith in yourself and your peerage." Drake assured her.
"I do, it's just... we're inexperienced compared to Riser." Rias said with a sigh. "Everyone who'll be watching from the Underworld is expecting me to lose. For them, the Rating Game is just a warm-up before the wedding."
"Fuck all of them then." Drake said with a frown, his arm tightening around Rias' waist. "If you win, Rias, then you've shown everyone not to fuck with you. But if you lose, then have faith that I will storm down to the Underworld, fight my way through whatever hellish creature stands in my way, and get you out of this sham of a marriage by any means necessary."
Rias nodded with a smile. Drake leaned down and kissed the top of her head lightly, then placed his forehead on hers as they glazed affectionately into each other's eyes.
That night was one of the best sleeps they've had in a long time.
Short chapter, I know, but... meh.
