I own nothing

Michael moaned as he slowly came to conciseness, his head was throbbing and his body felt heavy. None the less he pushed himself into a sitting position and slowly opened his eyes while rubbing his forehead. The light blinded him for a moment and once his eyes adjusted, he looked around.
He was still in the same spot as he was when that strange laser had hit the city, he spied his bag just out of arms reach. Undamaged and still zipped closed. The woman and child he had been trying to help
Standing proved to be difficult without support, so he used a nearby wall and made his way back to the main street. All around him, people began to stir and awaken; like him, they were confused and weary. It was an odd sight. Michael looked up at the sky, there was no sign of the robotic drones who had attacked the city there weren't any clouds in the sky either.
"Where did the clouds go?" Michael wondered. Then he remembered what he had seen right before blacking out "Oh shit, that guy," he gasped.
Michael ran up the street to where he had seen the drones pinning Alucard and where a good portion of the Daily planet had landed on top of him along with its signature golden globe. Michael got to the pile of debris and it looked like it had all fused. His brain immediately began to calculate the immense force and pressure that it would have taken to do that. On top of that, the Daily Planet Globe was on it too.
Michael let out a sigh, from what he had seen those drones do it would be impossible for Alucard to survive. Even if he did, it would take too long for anyone other than superman to remove the globe and break open the tomb.
"Sorry man, you did your best. But we're all still here and the city's still standing," Michael said sadly "I'll be sure to let superman know what you did. You didn't deserve this,"
Suddenly a part of the cracked. As if something had hit it hard. Michaels's head snapped and he stared at the crack. Another Crunching sound was heard and a second crack appeared.
"No way…don't tell me…"
On the third crunch, the whole front part of the tomb came flying off and smashed into the wall on the opposite end. Michael looked at the damage and then back into the tomb to see Alucard standing lying pulling himself up as small rock and bits of dirt fell off him.
Alucard stepped out of his prison and dusted off his coat before turning around to retrieve his sword and sheathed it. Michael was stunned, he stared gaping in shock. Michael quickly scanned Alucard for injures, however, there were none. No broken bones, no blood…nothing. Not a single scratch could be seen. It was like the fight for the city never happened.
"Do close your mouth…files will get in," Alucard said as he walked past. Michael watched him as Alucard stepped up onto a nearby car and stood on its roof and looked into the sky.
"Y…Your…Your alive?" Michael gasped once he had gotten over his initial shock "What happened?"
"Those things increased the gravity around me by several hundred times," Alucard explained without looking back "I believe...they may have perceived me as a threat,"
"You don't have a scratch. How the hell did you survive that? No ordinary man could have lived through being buried, entombed, and crushed like you were,"
"I am not a normal man," Alucard said cryptically "Though…it is odd that they were able to see me," he muttered to himself.
"Yeah, no kidding…wait…What was that last part?" Michael asked.
Alucard hopped down from the roof "It matters not," he said "it appears those things are gone,"
"Yeah, now we just have to worry about rebuilding the city and hope that there aren't any side effects of whatever that laser did," Michael sighed.
As soon as he finished that sentence a blur of red and white streaked through the sky and stopped in between both Michael and Alucard. The two looked down to see Krypto there and he barked happily.
"Who's this little guy," Michael asked as he got on one knee and started to pet Krypto. The dog seemed happy at the attention, but turned to look at Alucard and barked a few times. Michael laughed, after everything that happened, he was doing something normal as petting a dog.
"I believe it belongs to Superman," Alucard stated "he must have sensed the danger and came to our aid,"
"Didn't know superman had a pet," Michael responded "Who's a good dog for fighting off an invasion of evil robot drones…you are yes you are,"
Alucard shook his head and turned back to the sky. "Wait here…I need to check something," he said and he gently flew off into the sky. Several people noticed this and watched him go.
Alucard flew above the buildings and continued to fly upwards until he was a fair height above the city. He stopped and reached out his hand, it touched something smooth and transparent. Alucard narrowed his eyes, he thought he had seen something from the ground.
It was a glass-like structure. He flew around the perimeter with his hand outstretched. Tracing the bottle, once he was sure that he and the city were truly confined within, Alucard floated away from the glass and looked around. Searching for a way out.
His strong vampiric eyes were able to trace around the near-invisible glass boundary and he followed it to its peek where there was a round dark grey like a plug in the sky. Alucard flew over to it, examining the plush carefully. He reached out and to touch it, but it gave him a painful electrical surge assaulted him in return.
Alucard swiftly pulled his hand away and looked at the palm of his smoking glove. "Of course, it's trapped…nothing is ever easy," he sighed. Clenching his fist, he turned away from the plug and flew back down towards the city.
Landing a few feet away from where he left Michael and Krypto. Michael was still fawning over the super-dog and Alucard watched for a moment before walking over to them.
"Hey your back," Michael said. He stood up and Krypto looked up at Alucard as the vampire approached. "Find what you were looking for?"
"I did," Alucard confirmed. He then looked down at Krypto "Would I be correct in assuming you already knew?"
Krypto's ears sagged and the dog lowered his head and let out a sad whine.
"I see…Well, nothing can be done about it now,"
Michael looked between the dog and Alucard. He knew he was something. "Um…what are you talking about?" he asked.
Alucard turned away "it matters not, we must focus on assisting the people," he said and then started to walk away Krypto floated after him. Michael sighed, he put his backpack on and ran to catch up with Alucard and Krypto.
Alucard, Krypto, and Michael spent the next few hours helping and rescuing the people of Metropolis. Fortunately, most of the major damage had been restricted to certain areas and the buildings above where Alucard had fought; so, the damage was limited. When it came to digging people out or finding those trapped and buried Krypto was invaluable.
The dog had all of Superman's powers and an even keener sense of smell than the man of steel himself. Krypto would small or scan areas and then Alucard would use his vampiric strength to help clear rubble away or have Krypto hold up support beam while Alucard pulled out survivors. Of course, his vampiric hearing was able to locate trapped survivors, but Krypto's' senses were faster.
Michael stayed back to keep crowds at bay. If there were multiple, he would take the injured from Alucard and set them down gently a safe distance away. Once everyone was out Alucard would rush over and examine those they had saved. With the streets blocked and everyone still in a state of shock, it was impossible to get people to the hospital. Michael assisted in this part of the rescue as he studied medical science at one point, but noted that Alucard seemed to be able to determine the state of injures at a glance and give some treatments on his own.
Bandaging wounds and, though he was a little wired out that Alucard kept spiting on some of the bloodier wounds and deeper gashes. The medical supplies were donated by a few of the local corner pharmacies. If need be Krypto would fly those that need Hospitalization over to Metropolis central hospital immediately.
The citizens of Metropolis also pitched in, taking care of those who were in shock or who had been trapped and just needed a place to sit for a moment. They were used to seeing Superman rescue people and they knew that they needed to give the heroes some space to work. However, none of them had ever seen Alucard before and they were curious to see who this new hero to the city was.
Two in particle were Jimmy Olsen and Lois Lane. They had both been inside the daily planet when the attack started; Jimmy had taken a few photos from the Daily planets building out the window, both of them had also seen part of the Alucard's fight against the drones. But he had to pull back when the Drones dropped the golden globe. After they had woken up Lois had insisted that she go out and try and find the new hero and Jimmy knew there was no point in trying to stop her so he tagged along.
He was not her preferred photographer for nothing.
They eventually caught up with Alucard while the vampire was holding up a steel support beam. The building was a child center and one of the taller buildings that had been destroyed had fallen on top of the center; trapping all those inside. By some miracle, no one had been killed but there was no way out.
Michael had come up with the idea of having Krypto make a small exit directly under the fallen building and both the dog and Alucard were trying to reinforce it using support beams from a nearby construction site so it would not crush the children when they came out.
"Excuse me," Lois ran up to Alucard. Ignoring Michelle's attempts to get her to stay back "Lois Lane daily planet, can I ask you some questions?"
"Leave this area…it is not safe," Alucard ordered without turning to look at her.
Lois took that as a yes. Jimmy raised his camera and started snapping photos.
"Who are you? Where did you come from? What are your powers? Why did you defend this city?" Lois asked, "Do you know superman?"
Alucard did not respond and Lois took that as a personal challenge. Krypto finished welding the support beam and flew out of the hole. The dog floated next to Alucard's shoulder admiring the escape route that was now stable.
"I believe we will need…at least two more," Alucard stated, as he studied the beam. There were already three beams in place. The one Krypto had just finished welding near the exit and two more further in.
Krypto barked in response.
"I am aware of how long we have been here, but the humans have a saying…better safe than sorry" Alucard responded.
Krypto frowned and his ears flattened, it had taken nearly three hours to get those beams welded and in place to support the escape route. And the dog was getting tired, like superman, Krypto's heat vision drained his energy and it was starting to take its toll on the extra-terrestrial canine.
The dog let out a series of barks followed by a whine.
"Oh…is that so. I was unaware," Alucard said "In that case…perhaps only one more…just to be safe,"
Krypto let out a sigh and then he turned and flew off to get one more support beam. Leaving Alucard alone with Michael and Lois. "So, you talk to animals, is that your superpower?" Lois asked.
Alucard didn't even spare her a glance as Michael approached and carefully looked at the exit the two superpowered beings had been working on.
"This seems pretty stable," he commented, "why did you send Krypto away?"
"I do not wish to risk collapse…however he is getting tired," Alucard answered "We will add one more beam before attempting to evacuate the children,"
Michael nodded in understanding. A few moments late and Krypto came back with another beam in his mouth and placed at Alucard's feet. He barked happily and wagging his tail. Alucard rubbed his hand over Krypto's' head before he bent down to pick up the beam and moved it into place.
Michael backed up to give him space and so he would not be in the way, he walked over to Lois and Jimmy. "Hey, you two should back up," He said "Give those two rooms to work,"
"Oh no, I'm not leaving without my story," Lois declared. She pushed past Michael and marched up to Alucard. Jimmy gave Michael an apologetic look.
"Hey mister, you know it's rude to ignore a lady," Lois said in a condescending tone. Alucard's head snapped to look at her with cold eyes. Lois however still did not back down. "Now that I have your attention, let's get to my questions," she said triumphantly.
"Are the people of this city blind?" Alucard asked. Before Lois could start her line of questions again.
"Excuse me?" she responded in surprise.
"I said are the people of this city blind? Did they not just see the attack on their home?"
"Of course, they did,"
"Then are you blind?"
"No, my eyes are in perfect health,"
"Then you can see the state your city is in and that I am in the middle of a very delicate and compilated rescue operation…yet you pester me with bothersome questions simply to satisfy your own curiosity," Alucard responded coldly "what a selfish human you are,"
"Well excuse me mister tall dark and grumpy, but It's not just my curiosity," Lois snapped back "The people have a right to know,"
"Do they?" Alucard asked. Tilting his head to the side.
"Yes, it a little thing called freedom of speech," Lois said.
"I see…than feel free to speak to the mothers of the 12 children trapped in an unstable building under another fallen building. Feel free to tell them that their children died because you decided the city's need to know about me is more important than their lives,"
Lois stood there flabbergasted. For the first time, she seemed lost for words.
"Oh burn," Jimmy commented.
Michael stepped up once again "Sorry folks, but it is best that you leave," he advised.
Lois huffed and flipped her notebook shut before storming off. Jimmy quickly apologised to both of them and followed her.
"Well that was rather rude of him," Lois snapped once they had left the scene.
"To be fair, he was in the middle of a delicate rescue," Jimmy tried.
"So, how many times has Superman been in the middle of a rescue or a crisis, and he's still been able to answer a few questions?"
"That guy isn't Superman though,"
"I know, Superman is way nicer and polite. I bet if he was here, he would have stopped that attack and saved those kids already,"
"Speaking of which…where is he?" Jimmy said and he looked up into the sky.
"I don't know," Lois sighed. She then turned to look back up at Jimmy "So did you get any good pics?"
"Oh yeah," Jimmy said proudly and he switched his camera to sideshow to view the photos he'd taken "Got some of Krypto doing the welding and the hole and the scene,"
"Did you get any of mister grumpy pants?"
"Sure I…wait…" Jimmy trailed off as he flipped through his pictures "That's impossible,"
"Something wrong?" Lois asked.
"I…There's no pictures," Jimmy claimed.
"What do you mean there are no pictures? Did you leave the cap on again?"
"No, I mean there are pictures. It's just that guy isn't in any of them,"
"What?" Lois asked. She took the camera to see for herself. She flipped through the pictures of the scene, one or two shots of Krypto and a few others. But Alucard was not in any of them.
"Huh…well that's weird," Lois stated.
About half an hour later, Alucard Krypto and Michael had successfully evacuated those trapped in the child centre under the fallen building. Thankfully most got away with minor injuries and only two of the children needed to be taken to hospital.
After the children were safe, Krypto did a sweep of the city. A few more people were trapped, but getting them out was easy compared to the children. Once Krypto and Alucard were satisfied that there was no one else in immediate danger, Alucard informed Michael that he needed to talk to both him and Krypto where they would not be overheard. Michael invited them back to his University dorm where they could focus talk in private.
Michael s dorm room was quite small, there was enough room in it for a bed, a work desk, and a chair, and it came with an inbuilt cupboard to store his clothes. His desk was covered in tools, a soldering iron, and various complicated parts. There was a digital clock on a single bedside table, it read 22:25.
"Make yourselves at home," Michael said and he made a beeline for the chair. Krypto ran in and jumped on the bed, curling up at the end like he owned it. Alucard however looked around the room.
"Your home is…rather small," he stated.
"it's not my home, I just live here during the semester," Michael claimed "Actually this is one of the larger rooms,"
"I see," Alucard said. His yellow eyes glanced at the clock and he set himself up leaning against the wall and folded his arms and began to think.
Michael waited for Alucard to start but the vampire did nothing. Krypto looked between the two of them with anticipation.
"So…um are you a new Superhero?" Michael asked.
Alucard opened his eyes and he glanced towards the clock "No," he answered.
"Oh, I just figured since you were a meta and all…"
"Meta…what is a Meta?" Alucard asked turning his attention back to Michel.
"Um…you," Michael answered awkwardly. Alucard stared at him blankly. "You know a Meta, short for Meta-Human," again Alucard showed not resignation on his face "it's the general term for someone with superpowers,"
"I…have not come across that term before," Alucard claimed.
Michael gave him an odd look. The term Meta-Human has been around for at least the last decade, ever since Superman emerged almost 10yrs ago there had been several people discovering or coming into extraordinary abilities. The government needed a term for these superpowered beings and they were officially labelled Meta Humans by the UN. Although most prefeed to call themselves Super Men after the Man of Steel.
It was almost unheard of to find someone not familiar with the term.
"Right," Michael said. Alucard once again, turned his head to look at the clock. "So, did you want to talk about?" Michael added, "And why do you keep focusing on my clock?"
"Is it accurate?" Alucard asked.
"Yes,"
"Tell me, do you remember the time when you sat down with me this morning?"
"It was around 10 maybe 10:30 in the morning," Michael answered "Why?"
"And how long would you say that we were rescuing people?"
"Around four maybe five hours," Michael answered "Why? Does this matter,"
Alucard turned his attention back to Michael and looked at him with a very serious expression.
"Then where did the extra time go?" he asked in a serious tone.
"Extra time what are..." Michael started but suddenly stopped. He realized what Alucard was saying.
If he had met Alucard between 10 and 10:30 that morning and they'd spent a good 5-6hrs helping people. That meant they were missing at least six hours.
"Well we were unconscious after the attack," Michael pointed out "or at least I was. Come to think of it most of the city was waking up at the same time as I was. Do you think Brainiac did something to knock everyone out?"
"I am certain he did,"
"That's a bit far-fetched isn't it?"
"Is it? There are only 24hrs in a single day. Brainiac attacked metropolis just after we met at the library around 10:30 am…I did not fight him for very long. Next everyone is waking up at the same time…myself included and we spend almost 6hrs helping the people of this city,"
Michael did the math in his head and Alucard was right, it didn't add up. If his clock was correct that meant it had been about twelve hours from when Brainiac attacked and now. If they spent 6 of those hours helping the citizens and removing Debris then there was still a missing six hours to fill.
"Okay, I see your point. But why is this important?"
"I should not have been unconciseness for that long," Alucard said "It concerns me greatly,"
"That aside, I can see how this would be concerning. We're missing six hrs and anything could have happened within that time," Michael claimed "Brainiac could have killed us all and destroyed the city. But we're all still here,"
"Indeed, we are…which means he wants the city and its inhabitants alive. For what reason, I do not know,"
"But Brainiac dose," Michael said confidently. He dug into his pocket and pulled out his phone. Alucard looked at it curiously. "I recorded Brainiac, not on video but I got his speech," Michael said as he turned his phone on and found the sound file.
He pressed play and Brainiacs' voice filled the room.
"People of Metropolis, rejoice. You have been given the honor of being added to Brainiac Primes collection," the voice announced.
"I Brainiac clone 1.325 have been given the task of collecting your city for preservation and further study. Please remain calm while my drones get into position and cull some of the non-essential parts of your city," Brainiac clone 1.325 requested "Do not resist for it would be illogical for you to throw away this opportunity,"
"Since your primitive organic minds could never hope to understand how The Shrinking process works, I will not bother explaining it to you. All you need to know is that I Brainiac clone 1.325 am saving your species,"
"The collection process is smooth and simple. Your organic frame will receive no damage, nor will you experience any pain. Some minor side effects for flesh creatures such as your selves include Nausea, loss of bladder control, and loss of conciseness for an extended period of time. Should you experience any of these symptoms do note they are temporary and will pass quickly…have a nice day," Brainiac clone 1.325 finished.
"Well…that at least explains one thing," Alucard claimed.
"It does?" Michal asked.
"Yes, the city is currently confined inside a bottle," Alucard stated.
"We're in a bottle?" Michael asked in shock
Alucard nodded "Or at least some kind of glass prison,"
"How do you know this?"
"I flew around the outskirts of the whole city…there is a glass casing surrounding the city…there is also a lid at the very top above the city,"
"Okay, we'll call it a bottle. How the hell did we get in a bottle?"
"Brainiac mentioned something about collecting Metropolis for further study," Alucard pointed out "I can assume that is why everyone in the city is still alive,"
"Hmm…he mentioned shrinking in his message…wait you did he shrink the whole city and everyone in it?" Michal asked "How would that even be possible? The amount of energy needed would be astronomical not to mention the calculations involved so no one died and…."
"And the toll such a procedure would have on the body," Alucard finished.
"Exactly, if the human body mass was suddenly changed than…. oh…. I think I just figured out why everyone was unconciseness for 6hrs,"
The room suddenly became a deathly silence as the direness of the situation began to sink in. Not only were they all prisoners of Brainiac, but if the message was correct then they had also been shrunk as well; though by how much no one could say because they had nothing to compare their current size too.
On top of that, Metropolis had been in Brainiac's hands for at least twelve hours. It was clear from the message that Alien Al wanted to use Metropolis and its citizens for some kind of study, it would only be a matter of time before Brainiac would begin his experiments and Michal did not want to think about what that would involve.
He had seen too many Si-Fi movies and TV shows to know it would not be pleasant.
"We have got to get out of this bottle," Michael declared, breaking the silence.
"How?" Alucard asked.
"You said there was a lid and you can fly. A few hours ago, I saw you toss heavy debris away like it was nothing. Why don't you just force the lid off?"
"It is protected, when I touched it…it gave me a shock and numbed my hand for a brief moment,"
"Then what about the glass?" Michael suggested, "Could you break it?"
"That's a possibility…when I touched the glass there was no such protection," Alucard mused.
Krypto, immediately zoomed out of the room, leaving a streak of white and red. However, he came back a few seconds later and let out a sad whine while rubbing a spot on his head.
"I guess that means he couldn't break the glass," Michael assumed.
"It appears so," Alucard agreed.
"Great so what do we do?"
"I…I do not know," Alucard admitted "there…is a strong possibility the lid could only be opened from the outside,"
"Well, what about calling for help? Superman's a no show but what about the rest of the Justice League," Michael suggested "If we can't force our way out then maybe a signal will get through,"
"They will not come," Alucard claimed.
"How do you know?"
"Because if they could they would already be here"
"Well we have to do something," Michael urged "Lex Corp has one of the most powerful communications arrays on top of their building. If the whole city's in here that should be here too. It might just be powerful enough to get a call for help out,"
"Hmm…not a bad idea," Alucard mused. Though he had no idea what a communications array was.
Alucard had thought about it, he had been hesitant about using the return spell. Using it would guarantee his freedom from the bottle and return to Castlevania. There he could use the castle to get back to the Watchtower and alert Green Lantern or if they had returned, the Justice League.
The problem was getting back to Metropolis. While Castlevania could send himself and now by extension, the Justice League anywhere Alucard desired there were strict rules in place. There was also the fact that there was a time-lapse between when Alucard had fought Brainiacs drones and when he and the rest of Metropolis regained conciseness. That disturbed Alucard greatly as his vampiric heritage should have nulled any and all harmful effects to his person, yet he like the rest of the city had been unconciseness for six hours.
There was also the high possibility that Brainiac had taken the city somewhere else. Since the city was in some kind of glass container and most likely portable there was a very good possibility, he had taken the city somewhere and the castle would deem this unsafe and therefore would not return Alucard to it.
"Alright, let's get going then," Michael said enthusiastically
"Hold on…we should wait till morning," Alucard advised.
"Why?"
"Because your body is exhausted and is running on adrenaline," Alucard stated
"Buddy, I have 4 doctorates and am working on my 5th. Believe me, I know a thing or two about pulling an all-nighter," Michael claimed.
"And because I need to rest myself…I used a lot of my power today and I need to recover it,"
"Oh…really?" Michael asked. He hadn't thought about that.
This was a lie, of course, the truth was Alucard was good to go at any time. In fact, he was stronger at night, however, Michael was not. Alucard did not need his enhanced sense of smell to tell that the other man was in desperate need of rest. Since Brainiacs message had made it clear that the city was taken for some kind of collection, Alucard was confident that there would be time for both Krypto and Michael to rest for a few hours and recover their strength.
"Well…I suppose it wouldn't hurt to catch a few Z's," Michael supposed "Do you want the bed or…"
"No," Alucard responded and he slid down to a sitting position and leaned his head back against the wall.
"That can't be comfortable,"
"It is fine, I've slept in worse places," he assured and closed his eye.
"Um…" Michael wasn't sure what to do, he was fully prepared to give his bed to Alucard. After he was the one who had been doing the rescuing all day with Krypto. Michael looked at the dog for help, but the Super Dog was already asleep on the bed. "Okay…well night,"
Alucard grunted in response and Michael climbed into bed, he fell asleep the moment his head hit the pillow.
The next Morning Michael slept in and he was relieved that the city was still intact when he woke up. After a quick Breakfast, of toasted bagels (Which Alucard had never seen before and spent a good portion of breakfast observing the round-shaped bread) Thankfully Michael was smart enough to get the breakfast himself and bring it to his room, so the other dorm students would not stare at Krypto and Alucard.
After they had all eaten, the three-headed out of the building. Michael once again had his backpack and as they were headed down the street a large dark-skinned obese woman wearing a very professional purple suit with black hair stepped out in front of them and blocked their way.
She narrowed her dark brown eyes at the group. Michael flinched under her gaze and Krypto hid behind his legs whimpering. Alucard raised an eyebrow at this.
"Can we help you miss?" Michael asked, trying to be polite.
"You trashed my car yesterday," the woman said looking directly at Alucard.
"My apologies…if you must blame someone then blame those flying things that shot me out of the sky," Alucard responded.
"Hmph," the woman grunted. She then stepped forward until she was directly in front of Alucard and used her eyes to size him up. "So, you're the new hero in town, huh, you don't look like much," the woman said with a harsh tone.
"You can't judge a book by its cover," Michael chimed in.
"Indeed," Alucard added "It can lead to some…very unfortunate events,"
"Are you threatening me?"
"Merely stating facts,"
"Amanda Waller," the woman introduced "Commander of the Suicide Squad and I have been looking for you,"
"You command people to kill themselves?" Alucard asked confused "Would not that make it difficult to lead?"
"No ones ever put it like that before," Amanda admitted.
"What do you wish with me?" Alucard asked curiously.
"I saw what you did to those drones and I saw you helping people yesterday with that dog," Amanda claimed and pointed at Krypto.
"His name is Krypto," Michael added.
"I don't care if his name is fido, we don't have time to dwell on that," Amanda insisted "now I need you to give me a sitrep right away,"
Alucard blinked a few times and stared at her for a moment, he then turned to look at Michel.
"What is a…Sit Rep…dose she wishes me to sit on someone?" Alucard asked confused.
"Excuse me?" Amanda asked in shock.
"Huh? How did you get that?" Michael asked.
"She said Sit Rep. The Sit part I understood however I am unsure why she would wish me to sit on a representative," Alucard explained "Is that what Humans do now?"
"She means she wants a situation report," Michael explained, "and what do you mean by Humans?"
"Ah, my apologies…I normally have…" Alucard trailed off, thinking how to appropriately describe Flash. He was trying to find the right words to describe the speedster without giving him away as a member of the Justice League "a friend who explains things that I am unfamiliar with,"
Amanda could not believe what she had just heard, okay yes, she had used a Militarily term when talking to what was very clearly a civilian. However, it was a commonly known term that almost anyone who watched any Tv dramas or Si-fi would be familiar with the meaning.
"Don't play dumb, Metropolis gets attacked and Superman is nowhere to be seen. Yet you are, so you're going to give me an update,"
"I think you just described the situation perfectly," Michael claimed.
"Can it Junior, the adults are talking," Amanda snapped. Michael huffed in response "After which we will come up with a plan. Come on, you work for me now by the way,"
"No," Alucard said rather coldly. His voice and tone had gone from confused to stone cold.
"What did you just say?" Amanda challenged.
"I said No…I will not work for you,"
"Encase you haven't noticed, you're stuck in the city too," Amanda pointed. Alucard gave her an odd look "That's right I went to the city limits and found the barrier too. If you want to get out you will need my resources,"
Alucard stared at her and then he let out a low chuckle which turned into a full-blown laugh.
"I will not be trapped in here for long, in fact, I can leave any time I wish," Alucard claimed.
"You can?" Michael asked in surprise.
"Your bluffing," Amanda challenged.
"I have no need to bluff,"
"Then why haven't you left yet?"
"I have my reasons,"
"and those would be?"
"None of yours or anyone else's concern," Alucard responded "Now if you'll excuse me," In one swift motion, Alucard swept Michael into his arms. The other male let out a yelp, as he was not expecting it and Alucard launched himself into the air.
"Don't walk away from me," Amanda warned "If you do, I will find out who you are and then life will become extremely unpleasant for you,"
Alucard stopped and looked back down at her from his position "You can try…but you will fail," he said before flying off. Krypto zoomed after him. Amanda watched them go with disdain. As she stood there a man with neat blond hair and wearing a very expensive royal blue suit with a red tie walked up and stood next to her.
"Damned Metas, think just cause they have powers means common decency and manners don't apply to them," the blond man huffed.
"Excuse me?"
"Sorry, saw the end of that, Gorden Godfrey," the man introduced.
"Aren't you that primetime talk show host?"
"That's me," Gordon confirmed. He looked up in the direction that Alucard had flown "People like them are all the same, think they can look down on us normal humans. I'm thinking of running a segment on my show about it. You know asking people their opinions and speaking out on how the Justice League believe themselves to be above us. What do you think?"
"I think you should mind your own business," Amanda retorted and walked away.
